Weeks have passed, and we have settled into a routine. Eero spends every night and weekend with us. He tucks Easton in and then is gone.
The way Eero explained why he was absent was uncomfortable for me but Easton took it in stride and didn’t have many questions. The story he told him was that when I left Aurora Falls I had nothing, no phone, no computer, no way to keep in touch with Eero. I had lost everything in a house fire when Grandma and Grandpa died. A story Easton was familiar with. So, I wrote Eero a letter but he never got it. So, Eero didn’t know about him.
