Chapter 2

#Female lead#

My name is Ashlee and I have always wondered why my parents won't ever let me go out except to school. They say we are from the low pack wolf family and we should barely be seen outside lest we trespass our boundary.

I have a younger sister by the name Boulder, she is fierce and strong unlike me , weak and have actually no power to myself.

I lost my father to wolf hunters, I mean the humans five years back and it was a traumatic experience for me.

Now it's just myself, Boulder and my mom.

I can't wait to make my first growl and howl.

I'm 20 years and boulder is 18 but she growls and howls and has powers.

I am not envious of my sister though. She is a sweet soul.

Mom and boulder were sleeping soundly when I tiptoed gently of the house to behold the full moon.

It shone so bright it nearly blinded my eyes. Something seems to be standing high up in the sky and I squinted my eyes to see it. I was frightened and tried running back inside when this bright figure came close to me. It was the figure of an old lady with white flowing hair holding a leash that had a wolf . She looked straight into my eyes and patted my cheeks .

-Luna, how wonderful it is meeting you now-

- sorry but my name is ashlee- I was wondering why she called me Luna.

-Your name is Luna and one day you will be great, greater than any wolf that has ever lived -

I was surprised hearing such words from her. How can I be greater than any wolf that has ever lived when I barely have any powers and can not even boast of howling.

She took out a chain from underneath her cloak and pushed it into my Palms.

She told me to keep the chain safe for it will one day unlock the destiny I was made to fulfil.

I asked how I could get to see her again and she told me to call out to her any time I desire to her.

-But how can I call out to you, what's your name?

-Call me adolph-

She immediately vanished into thin air after saying this while mom came running at her heels asking what I was doing outside here in the cold.

I had no explanation to give , I could only sigh and went back into my room.

I could not blink an eyelid as the scenario kept playing in my head.

I decided to ask mom who is a Luna called and what it means though I was not prepared to tell her that I had an encounter with any old lady.

Mom boulder and I were sitted at the table when I raised the question.

Mom's eye lit up and she immediately grabbed my hands and asked where I got to know of the Luna from.

I lied that I read it from a book at school so I was just curious as to what a Luna means and what it stands for in the Wolf's nation.

Mom stared at me in the eyes and said it means a female Queen expected to rule over the whole wolf's nation , she will be a wife to the male king and will possess great powers that no one ever had ever since the beginning of the wolf Nation.

I was too stunned to speak . The old lady called me Luna so does it mean I will be all that my mom just said. Maybe she made a mistake but then I will wait to see how everything unfolds.

I went to the bathroom to take my bath when I noticed that my body was getting hairer .

-uh those hairs won't just go away- I grunted.

I grabbed a hair removal lotion and applied it on my body afterwards I relaxed in the bathtub while I ran a hot shower down my body.

After having my bath, I made to dry myself when I noticed the hair removal lotion didn't work. My body was still as hairy as before. I looked at the expiration date of the product and found out it still had 3 months to go.

I decided to go to a nearby cosmetic store to purchase another one. I checked my wallet and found I was short of cash.

I possibly can not go to school looking this way.

I wore my uniforms and took my fur coat . I wore it just to conceal the hairs showing on my arms and I wore a long socks to conceal the ones on my legs too.

-Nice coat you have there- my schoolmates commended my fur coat. Well it's a really beautiful coat. My dad gave it to me before passing away and it has been one of my favorites.

I came across fridolf and from the way he was looking , one could tell that he was also fond of my coat.

I made to turn away when he called me back and said he wanted to tell me something. I told him to go on with it. He asked that I be his friend since he barely has any friend and nothing else. I told him it was okay and he is a good person too so I have no reason rejecting his friendship offer.

We talked about my family for quite a while and I told him all he needed to know . I asked about his parents and he told me his mom and dad were still alive and if I do not mind, I could visit their house the following day.

I was skeptical, I have never gone out of my home except to school and going on errands but here is a friend inviting me over to his place.

Well I can always explore new things.
