A pitiful young lady walked along the street until she nearly got hit by a car. That's when she realized she was in the middle of the road.
The car's driver, a woman in her thirties, quickly got out, showing concern. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" she asked, worried.
The woman stood there, silent, lost in thought.
"Are you okay?" the woman asked again.
She just nodded.
"W-what's your name, young lady?"
She didn't know what to say because she couldn't remember her name or where she came from. She saw an older woman chasing a child. "Tina! Tina! Come back here! You can play later after you've showered!"
"Tina! Tina! Come back here! You can play later after you've showered!"
"Tina! Tina! Come back here! You can play later after you've showered!"
"Hello? Can you hear me?" the woman asked again, waving her hand in front of her.
"Tina. Tina," she managed to say.
"T-Tina? Your name is Tina?"
"Tina," she repeated.
"Ah, y-yes. You're Tina. Hi! I'm Amanda!" the woman said with a smile, offering her hand.
The young lady remained silent, arms crossed, staring ahead. Tina was not her real name, but she heard the old woman chasing a child calling it Tina. The word "Tina" came to the her ears.
"Hi?" Amanda said.
She seemed absent, just staring into space. After a moment, she seemed to come back to herself and looked at Amanda.
"What do you need?"
"I-I just wanted to check if you were hurt. Why were you walking in the middle? You almost got hit," Amanda asked.
Tina glanced around, confused and unable to explain her situation.
"Where am I?" she asked, furrowing her brow in confusion.
"W-what?" Amanda asked, also confused by the woman in front of her. "You really don't seem okay, Tina."
"T-Tina?" the young lady asked in confusion.
"Yes. I asked you earlier what your name was, and you said Tina."
Tina felt dizzy and weak. Amanda noticed and quickly supported her before she fell. The young lady lost her consciousness, and Amanda promptly took her to her car.
Tina woke up, looking around in confusion. Someone knocked on the door, and Amanda entered, carrying food and milk.
"Oh, you're awake! I prepared some food for you. Eat up to regain your strength," Amanda said, placing the food on the table.
Tina stared at the food, unable to resist her hunger. She quickly grabbed the food and ate it.
Amanda looked at her. "Slow down, you might choke."
Amanda opened the wardrobe and got Tina a change of clothes. She also got shampoo and soap and placed them on the table near the bathroom.
"BURP!" Tina belched loudly after finishing the food Amanda had prepared.
They looked at each other, and Amanda struggled not to laugh to avoid embarrassing the girl. "Uh, here's the soap and shampoo. Take a shower to freshen up. Here's what you'll wear; I'll just put it here. And the bathroom is over there, with a towel inside," Amanda said.
Tina just stared at her.
"Okay?" Amanda asked.
Tina nodded, and Amanda smiled before leaving the room.
After Amanda left the room, Tina sighed and rubbed her stomach, feeling incredibly full.
She got up, took the soap and shampoo, and went into the bathroom. While showering, she tried to remember what happened and who she was, but she couldn't even recall her own name.
After finishing her shower, she was about to leave the bathroom when her vision blurred, and her head began to ache. She immediately grabbed onto the wall, clutching her head and kneeling in pain.
Her vision kept changing, sometimes blurry, sometimes dark, and sometimes with flashes of pink.
She couldn't bear the pain and screamed loudly. Amanda heard her and rushed to the room.
"W-what happened?!" Amanda asked, quickly supporting her.
Tina couldn't contain the pain in her head and just screamed loudly.
Images flashed in her mind—many people, red roses, a blurry face of a man, a cat, and armed men.
In just a moment, she lost consciousness.
Franksen's POV
I had just taken a shower and dressed. After a while, Mana, our housemaid, called me for breakfast.
As I descended, I saw Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, and my two siblings, Josh and Lisa, already seated. I joined them, and we started eating. The only sound was the clinking of utensils.
In the middle of breakfast, Dad broke the silence. "How was your first day of school, Franksen?" Dad asked.
Yesterday was our first day of school. I'm currently a third-year high school student at Leosofo Academy. But I spent my first day at the Guidance Office due to some mischief I pulled at school.
A new teacher entered our room. She was a woman, not old, not young. She wasn't pretty, with curly hair, and I found her annoying.
I had some mischief in mind, which I shared with my friends, Jod, Tob, and Fel.
Miss Ruwa, our teacher, screamed loudly. She threw chalk and a book at us, angrily saying, "You have no respect! I'll make sure you pay! You have no manners!" She stormed out of the room. We laughed loudly and left the room, heading to the food court.
As we returned to the room, we met the secretary. "Follow me!" she said politely but angrily.
"Uh oh, Bro, we're in trouble again!" Tob joked. I chuckled.
We followed her and found ourselves in the Guidance Office. I lost count of how many times I'd been in there, but I was sick of seeing everyone's faces.
"Do you think we're not tired of your faces?! Well, we are! We're tired, and we don't want to see you anymore!" an old woman sitting on the side suddenly said.
Huh?! Does this old lady have some kind of magic? I wanted to laugh out loud, but I couldn't. But when I saw Fel, with mischief in his eyes, I burst out laughing loudly!!
"Franksen!" Dad called loudly.
They were all looking at me, and that's when I realized I was laughing while remembering what happened yesterday.
Damn it!
"U-uhm it was uhm a remarkable and happy day," I replied hesitantly.
"Good," Dad said seriously.
I quickly finished my food because it was almost time, and I might be late for Mrs. Teresa's class, our strict and mean science teacher.
I got up quickly and bid everyone goodbye. I got into my car, about to leave when Lisa, my youngest sister, chased after me.
"Can I ride with you? I'm too lazy to drive," she said.
I scratched my head. "Okay! Hurry up because I'm running late!"
She quickly got into the front seat. As we drove off, she started talking. "Franksen Sei, what did you do again? I heard you ended up in the Guidance office. When will you start behaving? Luckily, Dad and Mom didn't find out!! The Guidance office called last night, and luckily, I answered the call!"
"You! You act like you're the older one," I said.
"It's not like that. But I'm just worried about you. What if they found out? Then Dad's wrath will surely be unleashed again!"
"Can you please stop?! Yesterday wasn't a big deal. Okay?!"
"Okay. But if they find out about what you're doing at school, at least I've warned you! I'm done, I won't meddle anymore!"
"Tsk! Tsk!"
We arrived at the parking lot, and my youngest sibling quickly got out, slamming the car door shut.
"What the heck?! Are you crazy?!"
She just gave me a nasty look and hurried inside. I checked the time and cursed because I was late for the first subject.
My stomach was full, probably because I skipped dinner last night. But oh well! I ran quickly to the classroom.
I stood panting at the door of our classroom and saw Mrs. Teresa looking at me. She opened her fan and fanned herself.
"Hm?! It's only the start of the school year, and you're already too lazy to come early, Mr. Sei? Tell me the most valid reason why you're late so I won't mark you absent for today," she said grumpily.
I looked at my friends, and they were giving me different signs.
I didn't know what excuse to come up with. I needed to think. I looked at Tob, who signaled that his stomach was hurting. Fel seemed to be signaling that he was sleepy. And Job indicated that he had a toothache.
"Hm?!" Mrs. Teresa prompted.
"Uhm... my tooth hurt last night, so I overslept. Actually, I didn't even have breakfast this morning," I said, holding my stomach with an expression of hunger. But then I felt something strange in my stomach.
Oh NO!
I BURPED!
Damn it!
The class suddenly got noisy, and they burst into laughter. I could hear my friends laughing, especially Fel, who sounded like a parrot.
I looked at Mrs. Teresa, whose hands were on her hips, and her eyes narrowed. She walked slowly towards me, so I took a slight step back.
BOOM!
The door slammed shut loudly after Mrs. Teresa closed it forcefully.
WHAT A HORRIBLE MORNING!!
