“Why didn't you tell me you're a doctor”
Alex asked me interrogatively, leaning by the closed door, like a demi God.
“I did not think it was necessary. I am just here to clear my debt as agreed” Lila answered defensively and looked up to see Alex's reaction.
Alex smirked and pulled her by the waist
“You're getting your license tomorrow and henceforth, you're the CEO of Life Matters Hospital” Alex said as he reached out for his shirt and suit.
“I'll be back soon” he said, giving her a shallow peck. Lila retreated a little feeling the heat emanating from him
Life matters hospital, the biggest hospital in the country
“How did that happen?”
“How can I be the CEO in a space of a few minutes?”
“Wait! Is he trying to buy my love? If so, then it's working”
Lila thought to herself as she let out a victorious smile
“But where is he going and how could he go out without me?” Lila thought and noticed how she had become too protective of Alex
“I don't even care” Lila dismissed
“I need to call Eva” she said as he picked up her phone to call Eva
“Eva, I am now the CEO of Life Matters Hospital” Lila announced excitedly
“Eva.. I am now the CEO of Life Matters Hospital” Lila blurted out excitedly
“What? How is that possible? Your license and debt? Oh Alex your husband made all that happen?” she said with an interrogative and sarcastic tone.
“Yes Eva, Alex did all that”
In that moment, her phone beeped showing the call has ended
Eva threw her phone on the wall, dismantling every part. She screamed, pulling her hair out in frustration
“Enjoy it while it lasts, Lila. I am going to take back all that is mine” she said, having a mischievous smile on her face
“Who's there? Eva muttered aggressively, making her way to the door. Surprise etched on her face as she saw Alex and Ryan
“Hi miss…” Ryan called out
“Eva”
“Pack your things, you don't have to stay here anymore” Alex said, giving off his usual cold aura
Eva stood there dumbstruck
“He means, get your things, we are moving you to a new place” Ryan explained
“Oh okay. Just give me a moment”
Alex drove through the bustling street to one of his newly acquired mansion
“This is your new home now” Ryan said as he handed her the key to a new mansion
“Thank you, Alexander Black” Eva said and got no response as Alex made his way to the car while others followed
“You don't have to answer me Alex, but soon you will be mine” Eva said, as a mischievous smile crept across her lips
Inside the mansion, Eva looked at the decoration and intricate framework.
“This is beautiful” she thought
“If Alex can give me alm of these, then Lila must be enjoying way more" she thought, walking to and fro as if trying to hatch out a plan
“But for now, these are mine and mine alone and most importantly, I don't have to work” Eva blurted out, laughing out hysterically
“Where can I get flowers around here” Alex said as he drove out without a destination
Ryan blinked, puzzled for a minute.
“Flowers for who? I'm sorry.. let's drive to a florist shop”
At the florist shop, Alex moved around, selecting different exquisite flowers, unsure of what Lila would like.
“What do you think of this?” He said with a calm-confusion tone
Ryan stood there dumbstruck as he noticed how soft and selfless Alex had been since he married Lila. Alex does not care about anybody but himself. He was used to the hard and inconsiderate Alex, the one who showed no mercy even in the other world.
“Alexander Black, you've picked beautiful flowers. Can we go now?” Ryan blurted out
“Wait, she might not like this one” he said and Ryan chuckled at Alex's serious expression
“Maybe this wasn't such a bad thing” he said to himself
Alex walked around the many vibrant options before him. Just as he gathered a handful of delicate flowers, a thought struck him.
“Since I can't make a decision on what to get, maybe I should just get different flowers for her,” he said aloud, glancing over at Ryan
Ryan raised an eye row, surprised by a sudden shift in Alex's demeanor. He hadn't expected such a thoughtful approach from his friend.
Initially, he had been apprehensive about Lila's involvement with Alex, knowing his reputation for being ruthless
Maybe this was a sign that Alex was capable of more than he had assumed.
Alex stood at the flower display and carefully selected strands of different flowers for Lila
He chose pink roses, bright yellow sunflowers and delicate white daisies. He mixed these flowers to create a bouquet
Turning to Ryan, he noticed his friend watching him with a smile on his face
“I know what you're thinking” Alex said, still keeping his usual straight face
“Come on man, you don't have to get in my head all the time” Ryan replied, still grinning
Alex didn't respond verbally; instead he focused on paying the florist
He and Ryan stepped out of the shop with the bouquet of flowers in hand
“You know Alexander Black, you don't have to bring me to get flowers. We look like a couple or something” he joked, nudging Alex playfully
Alex remained silent with a familiar look crossing his face.
Ryan was used to the quiet moment where Alex simply absorbed everything without feeling the need to respond, so he kept on talking
“Who knew the great Alexander black would have eyes for beautiful flowers?” Ryan continued
“I’ve known you for centuries, man”
After a moment, Alex finally broke the silence
“Keep that to yourself. She doesn't need to hear about it”
Ryan chuckled as he walked into the car.
