I warned you

“Hey babe.. I'm back now. Let's meet at our usual spot” The message popped into Lila's phone the next morning. Her eyes were swollen and red from crying all night. “Why now?” lila began another episode of emotional turmoil. “I f**king waited for you, Julian. Why now?” Lila cried out as she hit her pillow in an emotional outburst. “I'll be there by 9pm” she replied without hesitation. She knew Alex wasn't going to let her out, so she planned her escape from the view of the estate she could remember during her entrance. Lila's heart raced as she slipped out of the mansion's side door, her eyes scanned the gardens for any sign of guards. She climbed up a designated spot, her breath catching up in her throat as she made her way to meet Julian. “Julian” Lila called out as she stopped to look at him. “Lila” Julian saud, standing tall with both hands buried in his pocket. Lila ran to him and hugged him tightly. Julian stood still without any hint of emotions, his hands still in his pocket. “I heard everything that happened, lila. You'd soon marry Alexander Black” “Listen Julian…” Lila said desperately, pulling out of his embrace and tilting his face towards her direction. “My father owes Alexander a huge debt. After paying him, I'll get a divorce and come back to you, so we can start a family” “I can't do this Lila. We have to end it now. I can't take you back after you already let Alexander have you” “Julian please don't do this to me” lila went back to his embrace, hugging him tightly. “Lila, stop it. Maybe you are flirting with him and that's why he chose you to redeem your father's debt. You're a bloody cheat, stay away from me.” Julian lashed out while aggressively pulling Lila from his embrace. “Julian. Julian. I love you” tears rolled down her cheeks for the upteenth time as she crawled towards him on the dusty floor after being pushed by Julian. “Am out of here and don't even try to find me” Julian said and walked away leaving Lila in her emotions. “No! Please don't go.. don't go, Julian. Please come back to me” Lila cried out and stretched out her hand as if trying to pull him back. She had waited for Julian for two years only to be rewarded with this, even when their communication went sour, she held onto the hopes that he was working to build a future for both of them. “I warned you” She heard a voice from behind and looked back, it was Alex. “Triple your father's debt. Take her to the vehicle” Alex ordered with his usual unreadable expression. “Alex please. It won't happen again. I will be a good wife to you. I won't leave the house again” Lila cried out as she crawled towards Alex, clinging unto him. Alex felt a slight discomfort seeing her cry but has learnt over the years not to let emotions cloud his judgement. He witnessed everything that happened and swallowed hard at the thought of his woman professing love to a boy he was more richer and handsome than. “How could she?” He thought to himself When he found out she was missing, for once in his entire life, fear gripped him. What if his enemies kidnapped her?. What if she's in serious danger? He knew at that moment, he needed to tighten his security. If a defenceless girl could escape from his grip, that means, his enemies could easily attack. He clenched his fist at the thought of it. At the mansion, Alex instructed Lila to be taken to her room. “Clean her up” he said to one of the maids, in a commanding tone and walked away. He stopped midway and turned back to lila. “Be prepared. We will get married tomorrow.” At this point, lila could not take it any longer and bursted out “ How can you be this heartless? My boyfriend just broke up with me and you want to marry me” She neither got a reaction nor a response from Alex who was already inside the mansion. “Let's go ma'am’’ Felicia said, trying to raise her up. Lila followed obediently when she saw that her pleas and tantrums fell on deaf ears. “Is he even a human?” She thought to herself
