Married

Alexander entered the room and was filled with so much rage. The image of his woman professing love to another man couldn't leave his memory. He clenched his fist tightly. Seeing Lila in another man's arms, the way her eyes shine in love and admiration. He couldn't shake off the feeling of ownership he had suddenly developed towards her. “What does she have on me?” He said, with a low and menacing voice as he paced around heavily. “She has nothing on me. She's mine and will do as told” Beneath the surface, Alex's heart raced . He knew he couldn't let his guard down for a moment. Lila had somehow managed to get under his skin and made him feel things he never wants to feel. And the realization made him even angrier. He couldn't deny how beautiful she is. The rare kind of beauty that commanded attention. Alexander's eyes gleamed with admiration and possession as he thought about Lila's striking features. Her skin has a radiant porcelain like glow and her eyes were an arresting shade of green that pierced right through him. He found himself increasingly entrailed by her. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was that captivated him. “Tomorrow she will be mine and I am never letting her go” he thought to himself. “Get it together Alex. Remember you cannot let your guard down” alex said, hitting his head as if jolting himself back to reality. * The next day, Lila and Alex were at the courthouse. Alex stood tall beside her, with his tailored suit hugging his frame perfectly, exuding an air of confidence that was both intimidating and infuriating. “Do you litla …., Take Alexander Black to be your lawfully wedded husband?” The judge's voice echoed in the courtroom, and Lila felt as if the world around her had come to a standstill. She scanned alex's eyes searching for some sign of understanding or some glimmer of warmth that might make this moment feel less transactional and more like a union but was met with his usual straight face. “I.. do” she stuttered with the words barely escaping her lips like a whisper. “Do you, Alex Black take Lila Kirk as your lawfully wedded wife?” “I do,” Alex responded immediately. The words spilled from his mouth with an urgency that took Lila by surprise. It was like he couldn't wait to completely own her. He knew this wasn't her ideal union but has sworn to himself to make it worth it. Lila was now his wife so he felt burdened with the responsibility to love and protect her. “You may now kiss your bride” the judge declared. At thus moment, their eyes met and Alex felt a rush of conflicting emotions. He leaned in, closing the distance between them. Their lips met, and Alex felt a jolt of electricity surge through him. Lila pulled back immediately. The reality of the situation hit her like a hard rock. She is now a married woman and not to Julian but to a man who had caused her so much pain over the last few days. A man she doesn't love, who had manipulated her into this union. The thought of being tied to him for the rest of her life was suffocating. As she looked up at Alexander, her expression was a mask of resignation. It dawned on her that being stubborn would only make things worst. She had to play the role of a dutiful wife if she wanted to regain her freedom. She would have to pretend to be a loving and obedient wife and fulfill any marital obligation required of her. They both walked out of the courthouse with Lila giving out a defeated expression. “Give me your hands” Alex's voice jolted her back to reality and she immediately did as she was told. Alex held her hands protectively. He had expected her to put up her usual defiance and was surprised at her sudden obedience. “Are you done? Make sure everything is perfect Alex said over the phone in his usual commanding tone. Alex led her to a luxuriously furnished restaurant with the two of them as the only guest. “Go on” Alex urged with a slight smile playing on his lips. “When did he start being nice, mr grumpy” Lila thought to herself as she walked to the dining table. Alex hand possessively guided Lila leading her to the seat and taking his place opposite her. Despite his coordinated exterior, he was faced with an undercurrent of nervousness. He had never cared for anyone other than himself but was able to mask it up with his domineering aura. “You.. like it?” He stuttered “If you don't, I can easily arrange for something else” he added “It's perfect” Lila responded, clearly showing her disinterest in his kind gesture. Alex couldn't continue the conversation and just resolved to focus on the dinner. Throughout the dinner, Alex's hand frequently found its way to Lila's knees or shoulder; a subtle reminder of his ownership. Lila's smile was polite, but her eyes betrayed her true feelings: a mix of discomfort, anxiety and resentment. “Shall we retire?" Alex asked with a low and husky voice after finishing the last course of the meal. He stood up and offered lila his hand. She took it and they both walked towards the car. Lila's heart sank knowing what lay ahead as this was her wedding night.
