The stubborn woman in me doesn’t think running off is a good idea. I understand Maddox, but he needs to understand that I am not some powerless wolf.
"Sorry, but can I just steal Maddox for a while? I want to talk to him about something," I put on a fake smile.
The couple agrees, and Maddox follows my lead as I walk outside. As we match outside, Jackson makes a show and joins the couple. "We will join you shortly," I inform him.
"Cool," Jackson replies.
Maddox continues to follow behind me. Shortly, we reach his office, and I make sure to lock the door behind me.
"I am not going to do what you want me to do," I tell him, folding my arms over my chest to show that he won't shake my resolve.
