Logan was taken by surprise after hearing his name. He had no idea of who she was. How can this be? Though to himself as he watched her walk away.
He walked back to his friends, in which most of them already had a girl around their arm. "hey guys, does any of you know that girl?" he asked, pointing to Helena.
They all looked at the same time, making Logan extremely uncomfortable "Can't you be more obvious? have you never learned how to be discrete?" he said, hiding his face with his hand.
Cristina looked at the group, and stares could kill; they would all be dead. Sam laughed and waived teasingly to the group of guys who turned their heads back to their group after being caught staring.
"Which one are you talking about?" one of the frat guys asked. "The one with the white shirt," he mentioned avoiding looking towards her group.
"No Idea, but the one with the short silver dress sure looks good," Asher mentioned while rubbing his palms together.
"It seems that I already hooked up with her." he mentioned, "However, I have no recollection of it" the guys looked at him and laughed. "That bad, hun?" Adam said while still giggling, but the girl in his arm didn't like his joke and gave him a slight tap in the shoulder in disagreement. "That's mean," she pouted, "Don't worry baby, I will never forget about you," he replied, giving her a light kiss in the chick.
"Maybe I was already way too drunk to remember," he joked, but the truth is that he was more curious to know who the other girl was and how she knew his name.
As the night passed, he kept checking up on her by the distance, finding her each time she switched places, still intrigued by the mysterious girl. Each time someone was behind her to dance, he would feel some jealousy raising within him, but quickly brushed that feeling off as she would reject their attempts.
He decided to try to make a move. He was a player who regretted hanging out with her friend since he couldn't even remember that event. However, just like a tiger looking at his prey, he smoothly moved around the dance floor, making his way to get close to her when he noticed a man not accepting her rejections.
Helena was starting to feel uncomfortable by the man's approach attempts. She rejected his request to dance with him, but he kept dancing behind her, coming closer each time.
"Come on, baby, dance with me," he whispered in her ear while holding her by the hips. She could feel chills where his breath touched her neck.
"Get Off Me," she replies, pushing him away. He did the opposite of what she requested and used the fact that she had turned sideways to make him move back and grabbed her by the waist, forcing her to face him.
"Come here, hot stuff," He said while rubbing himself on her.
Logan saw that scene and quickly rushed to her rescue; however, as soon as he reached both of them, the man folded himself in half on the floor.
"Touch me again, and I promise you the pain will be ten times worth," she said with a deadly look before turning around and making her way to the bar.
He soon realized she would be far from being a damsel in distress needing rescue while looking at the man who was breathing hard, trying not to puke from the pain.
Once again, he searched for her in the crowd and made his way to her.
She was at the bar trying to grab someone's attention when Logan suddenly appeared next to her.
"I'm not sure if I should be impressed or terrified of you right now," he mentioned jokingly, trying to start a conversation.
Unamused, Helena didn't even look at him. "Go away," she said with a severe tone, "I will be clear this time," she said, looking him right in his eyes. "I'm not interested."
“Listen...” he replied, throwing his hand in the air as a sign of peace, “I’m here as a friend, I promise.” He finished by crossing his heart. She wasn’t sure if it was because of what had happened a few moments ago or if it was his child’s gesture just now that made her take a deep breath, closing her eyes, and loudly sighed.
“Get me three shots, and I don’t slap you in the face,” she said with her eyes still closed and her head down. “No problem,” he said as he extended his right arm so the bartender could see him holding a credit card in his finger. That may be the trick to call their attention as suddenly two of the bartenders became available.
Helena was lifting her head just in time to see Logan handing his card while asking the order and finishing with, “and whatever she orders through the night is on Me!”. Her first reaction was shocked, then she giggles. “I don’t think that’s a good idea, you see...” she said while turning her seat around facing the dance floor with her back toward the bar, “... I can drink a lot, I wouldn’t want to let your daddy mad with the credit card bill!” She finished with a teasing voice. “Oh, really? Is that true? Don’t worry about the bill, show me what you got,” Logan replied with a dare in his expression. “Is that a challenge? What you have in mind?” She asked, puffing her chest.
Logan analyzed his surroundings, trying to find the best way to prepare for this challenge. He asked for five shots and aliened them, one next to the other. “Let’s play, “Penny” mentioned as reaching out to his pocket, taking two pennies out of his pocket. “We bounce the coin on the table and aim to place the coin inside the shot glass. The first to drink three shots win.” he finished explaining the game while flicking her coin in the air. She clapped her hand while catching the coin. As she opened her hand to see a small bronze penny, a smile formed in the corner of her lips, “Oh, it’s on!”
They asked for the bartender to count till three, and they started to bounce their penny on to the bar.
They were so concentrated that they didn't notice the crowd forming behind them, cheering them on.
His first attempt was a success, it went right into the shot glass, and he drank that shot, he moves towards the second glass, but he struggles a little more.
A couple of attempts later, he made the shot, but before he could drink it, a hand reached out and grabbed it almost out of his hands.
He may have been so concentrated that he didn't see Helena has won, and to tease him more, she drank his shot as well. The crowd cheered as Helena threw one hand in the air while she finished drinking the shot.
He wasn't a good loser, and knowing she had outdrank him four to one, he felt like she rubbed salt in his wound by stilling his drink.
Helena finished the shot and slammed the glass into the bar, "That was fun." she said, making funny faces as she swallowed the alcohol.
"Don't be so upset," she giggled " I did warn you I would outdrink you," She said after seeing Logan's gloomy face.
"Time to go find my friends..." she continues and tries to stand up. Her heels got stuck on the foot of the stool, causing her to fall on the ground. Her reaction was not a common one as she burst into laughter.
A bouncer saw the event and decided she had too much to drink and had to leave. Her friends, who weren't too far, ran to Logan, who was assisting the drunk Helena in getting up as she could not stop laughing to stand straight.
They all agreed with the bouncer and walked out of the bar. Cristina wasn't happy by her night being cut short, but Sam was sure it was more jealousy to see Logan with Helena than anything else.
"Do you guys need a ride?" Logan asked the three girls in front of him.
"No, thank you, our dorm is not too far," Cristina answered, still looking annoyed. "Will be good for her to get some fresh air," she replied, seeing Sam and Helena walking away trembling and laughing.
"Listen, I'm sorry for not remembering you," he started to mention, but Cristina lifted her hand, gesturing for him to stop talking. "It's not your fault, and I should know as you kept spilling your drink everywhere." she took a deep breath and continued, "Maybe I should be the one apologizing as I feel I kissed you without consent," she joked, "We just made out before you pass out.". They both laughed. "Well, can you at least tell me her name?" he asked.
Cristina made a gesture as she was zipping up her lips closed, "If you want to find out, you have to ask her." she answered before leaving jogging to catch up with her friends.
