After watching her walk inside, I ordered some of my warriors to find and escort Nickoli to the border. I walk into the house and follow Talamhś scent up to the guest room that I put her in. I grab the handle and try to turn it. Locked. I turn on my sensitive hearing and I hear the shower running. I turn to leave, but I smell the faint smell of blood. And it's coming from her room. I grab the door handle, twist, and break the lock. I walk into her room and knock on the door. The smell of blood is stronger here. Much stronger.
"Talamh are you in there?" I ask.
" Yes, I'm in the shower, now leave me alone!" She yells.
I sigh and go sit on her bed. The little tiny bedsprings squeak, giving me away. As I sit there, I can faintly smell blood. And it's coming from the bathroom. I jump up and bang on the door. I hear her sigh before answering,
"What do you want? I'm busy!!"
A tiny growl loosens itself from my throat. "Why do I smell blood?" I ask in a serious tone. "Because I was covered in it!" She yells through the door.
"Why do I smell fresh blood?" I say, putting an accent on the word fresh.
I hear a growl and then a thud. I kick open the door and see her laying on the shower floor, with her arms cut and blood dripping from them. I run in and take off my shirt, then cover her small fragile body with it. I pick her up and run out of her room with her in my arms. As I run down the stairs, I yell into the house,
"GET THE PACK DOCTOR NOW!!!"
One of my mated warriors comes running up with the pack doctor and motion for me to give her to him. I growl and he hold his hands up in surrender.
"Alpha, I'm mated. Nothing worse is going to happen to her." He says. I grunt out a response, than hand her to him. He turns to the doctor so she can asses her, then she turns to me.
"When exactly did she start... "She lets the silence finish her sentence.
"My guess would be before she came here. I'm not quite sure when." She nods and turns to the warrior.
"Take her to the infirmary. Put her in one of the rooms that no other wolves are by." He nods and leaves with her in his arms. She turns back to me.
"Did you break into her room?"
She ask. I nod.
"I could faintly smell fresh blood, so I broke the lock on both doors, and found her laying on the floor of the shower."
"Okay. Well, let's go."
I look at her with a blank expression. She rolls her eyes.
"Before anything else, your mate comes first. When you fight Alpha, your not fighting for your pack, your fighting for your mate, wether you have one or not. That's the way of being a wolf." She says before turning to leave. I decide it's better not to see her. She didn't sound happy, so I'll leave her be.
Stupid human!! Go to mate!! Now!!! Mate! Mate! Mate! My wolf yell in my head. Later. I tell him. We'll go see her later, I promise. I walk back up to my room, ignoring he questioning gazes, and walk into my room. I flop down on my bed face first and I can feel the tears that threaten to spill. I grab a pillow and let the tears spill. I cry for a long time, and when there's no more tears, I do the only thing I can do for now, sleep. As I drift off, I already know my dreams will be filled of Talamh.
