Alexa's
eyes darkened. She turned abruptly causing her hair to whip around like a cape. Her eyes fell on Thane, and stayed.
He was panting, eyes narrowed, and sweat glistening his forehead like he had just fought the biggest battle of his life yet. And his lips were parted… he had spoken!
The surprise passed through her face first, then an amused expression flashed through. She mouthed a ‘wow’, her eyes glowing as she crossed the distance between them.
“Baby," she cooed, her voice shrill and fake. “Did you just speak?"
Thane swallowed, the defiance evident on his face. “You've done enough, Alexa. Let him go. Let us all go already."
