Once again Nick was locked up in a prison cell, only this time he did not scream for the officers to tell him what he did wrong. Scarlet had played her cards well, she was cunning after all.
Nick hated himself for underestimating her, he knew that she was evil but he had never taken it into consideration that she could conspire to have him locked up. Then there was farmer Wilson coming up to him as if he had done something to him, meanwhile Nick had avoided the old man ever since he was released on bail.
And his sister, she was probably heartbroken seeing that her brother was being dragged to jail once more. He was worried for her sake. Nick had always wanted Stella to study and make something of herself, but yet his problems kept holding her back instead of pushing her forward.
