Amber drove herself to the coffee shop, two blocks away from her office building because she really did need a cup of coffee, black with no sugar. She sat herself down at the corner of the shop, looking out the window at the busy New York City roads. The traffic congestion was getting worse and she did not even bother that she would be stuck in traffic once she left the shop. She sat there and sipped on her black coffee as the warm liquid hit her tongue and filled it with bitterness. She was in no mood for something sweet, nothing in her life was sweet at the moment. She shut her eyes as she soaked in the heat that travelled throughout her body. The sounds around her from the honing of the cars in the growing traffics drifted away.
