After he left she lay in silence. A few moments later a jingle of keys announced the arrival of a servant woman with food and a water jug balanced in her arms. She was followed by two men carrying a copper bathtub. As they went about setting up the tub, Claire looked around the room with curious eyes. So this was where Cal lived, where he was raised.
