A Bite To Remember

Chapter 9

Julius's POV:

Finding out about the information Lola and Travis shared pissed me off so bad. Keegan and Esmé were like family, and we have always taken care of our, but we failed they were amazing and would give you the shirt right off there back in a heartbeat no questions asked.

Esmé was part of Dustin and Trevor's pack she was an amazing warrior and great help in the pack hospital. Now that they are gone we have to keep Star safe she has been kept secret from the supernatural world but for a few people because of what she is the first bad ass hybrid vampire half werewolf, and she will be very powerful.

Keegan and Esmé never told her what she really is or even what they were. They had a witch cover her natural sent and delay her powers till she turns 18 because they wanted to keep her safe for as long as they could but now that they are no longer here it's Lola Travis, and I's job to help her through everything.

Wishing Travis and Lola a fair well we go out separate ways. I let them know we will protect Star no matter what. Heading upstairs I strip out of my clothes down to my boxers and head to bed. Tossing and turning I finally drift off to sleep.

The next morning, I wake up getting ready for the day and grab a cup of coffee. Axel comes in, and bugs me till I agree to go to the town fair with him plus Star will be there, so I can keep an eye on her. Reaching the fair Axel points Star out to me and I can't believe it's the girl from the coffee shop yesterday.

I start to feel that same pull as I did yesterday when I seen her and my eyes turn silver again. Axel noticed and says Oh s**t! She's your mate ain't she?

Yes dumbass I found out yesterday, but it's not like I can tell her she don't know what or even who I am let alone herself, so we have no choice but to take this slow for her sake and her safety. I watch her from afar and start getting pissed when I see Trent flirting with her.

Axel grabs my shoulder because he can sense the change in me and don't want me to do anything stupid. Calm down man before you rip his head off right in front of her. Fine I'll deal with that asshole later. I follow Star to the zipper seeing her lovely smile I can't help but smile to I just really want to mark her and claim her as mine forever soon my love very soon.

I notice Lola and Star getting off the zipper and watch them head over to the jumper cars for a few minutes. Then I start getting this weird feeling, and I know something is wrong following them to the haunted house I realize there is a strong smell of fresh blood but before I can worn Lola they are already through the doors of the haunted house.

Star's POV:

Hey Lo do you want to go to the haunted house now. “Yeah sure thing let's go” Walking through the entrance I start to get a shiver running down my spine but I ignore it because it's probably just the haunted house jidders. A few minutes later I start smelling something nasty turning the corner I see a girl about my age laying there dead she is so bloodying looking closer I see a note against my better judgement I pick it up and read it written in blood it says in big letters, "STAR I'M COMING FOR YOU!”

I start trembling getting a pain in my head a scream slips past my lips all of a sudden the mirrors start to break and the floor under my feet shake. Crying I ask Lola what is happening? The guy from the coffee shop grabs me and everything stops I start to calm down feeling safe, but everything goes black and I let the darkness take me.

Waking up in my bed with no memory of how I got there I jump up and look around seeing Lola sitting in the chair next to my bed. Oh, dear finally you're awake!

Are you okay?

Do you need something to eat?

Lola, please slow down I'm fine but when did we get home. She stays silent for a few seconds. What do you remember? I don't really remember anything but walking to the haunted house, and everything goes blank. Um you passed out during the haunted house event, so I got a friend to carry you back to the car and when we got home I dressed you in your pajamas. Now you're awake.

Julius's POV:

I start hearing screaming, so I take off running into the haunted house and realize it's Star she's screaming while standing over a dead body holding a note. I have no choice but to cover my ears because she is so loud the mirrors are even shattering. The floor starts to shake, so I run up to her wrapping my arms around her waist to try to calm her, and it works, but she goes limp in my arms, and I noticed she passed out.

Picking her up bridal style I ask Lola what the hell happened? She said she has no clue she just started screaming after she seen the body. Lola tries to grab her but I tell her no I'll take her to the car you just lead the way. Oh, okay that is fine I start following Lola when we reach the car I sit Star carefully in the back seat and start to stroke her hair and plant a kiss on the top of her head.

Lola watches very carefully and you can see something just registered with her because her eyes light up, and she says, Oh my gosh she's your mate, isn't she? Yes I found out yesterday and I will protect her no matter what but now is not the time to tell her. No worries I understand why and agree with you.

When we get to her house I laid her on the bed and cover her up. I don't want to leave her but I don't have a choice right now. I kiss her on the head one last time and walk out of her bedroom. Once I walk out of the house I call Axel right away, so he can place two guards near the house, but not were Star will see. Axel He's back!!!
