"Adriana!"
My eyes went wide the moment I turned and saw her fully.
"Selena…" Her voice came out low, like she didn't quite trust her own eyes.
"Adriana…" Mine matched hers, just as soft, just as disbelieving.
For a second we just stood there staring at each other. Then she rushed me, her arms wrapping around me so suddenly and so tightly that the breath left my body.
"I tried calling .. I looked for you everywhere, how could you just forget me?" Her voice cracked against my shoulder, and I felt the warmth of tears soaking into my shirt.
My chest tightened painfully. I lifted my hand slowly and placed it on her back, patting gently, the same way I used to when she was younger and the world felt too big for her. I didn't mean to forget her. I just didn't want her to see m
