SELENA'S POV
"Grandfather!"
The name slipped out of me before I could stop it, excitement bubbling up so naturally it surprised even me. A wide smile spread across my face as I rushed toward him, and without any hesitation I melted into his open arms. His embrace was warm, familiar in a way that didn't quite make sense, and yet felt completely like home.
"Ahh, my beautiful daughter-in-law," he said, his voice rich with affection as he patted my back. "I've missed you."
"I missed you too," I said, pulling back with my smile still wide.
Behind me, I could feel Alexander's presence.. stiff, controlled. "You didn't say you were coming," he said.
Grandfather's expression shifted immediately as he turned to him. "I don't need your permission to visit my own grandson's house," he snapped. "
