Chapter Ninety-Five. “Stan, I wouldn’t hold me in that position, I still have dodgy guts,” Joanne, the mother of one of the firefighters, cried out in what sounded like desperation. Stan immediately let the middle-aged woman go, glancing over to his wife. Haley giggled, shaking her head. “Did they change your tablets, Joanne?” Josie, one of the firefighters who attended the self-defence classes held by the Umpire and his wife up in the North East of England, asked the woman on the floor. “Yes, finally,” Joanne stated, shaking her head and standing up. “Oh, have you been poorly?” Haley asked the woman. Stan muttered under his breath. “Why, why did you have to ask?” Joanne was known for her oversharing, and he really did not want to know about her ‘dodgy guts’ as she put it. “
