Chapter Twenty-Two. Safron awoke to singing, blinking her eyes open, she heard a very bad rendition of Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York, as she cricked her neck to ease the ache which resided there. She leaned forward looking out the front windscreen and once again a ghost of a smile adorned her lips, as she saw the signposts for New York. She giggled slightly, wondering if the soldier was going to sing their way through the different states and towns of America. “Hey, you are awake,” Leon cheerfully greeted her. His genuine smile making her heart leap in her chest.
