A little talk was okay with Magellan, as long as the fairy wands stayed in the briefcases. He was happy with his fairy gift and didn’t want another one. Rumors about how Queen Ash had gotten her annoying blackflies ran through his head.
The Fairy Ranger nodded and the ring of Rangers relaxed their bows. They kept their arrows on their bowstrings but not drawn tight.
Only slightly less deadly than before. Still, Magellan appreciated his godparents’ effort. “Oh, and I lost my ride. Where’s our dragon?”
“Dragon?” Merrill sounded puzzled.
Webb turned to the Fairy Ranger. “Has a dragon been added to the Magical Creature Reserve?”
“The creatures in the Reserve are confidential.” The Fairy Ranger gave Merrill and Webb an icy look. “For their safety.”
So Magellan’s dragon might be in there,
