CHAPTER NINE Barging In *MAGELLAN*HALF-WAY THROUGH the math morning, Magellan drifted off into a beautiful daydream. The Magenta Kingdom’s classroom disappeared, taking King Pink, Vlad, Shush, Milli, Hectare, Zetta and multiplication with it.
The Saffron dragon, perfectly recovered, flew through the open window and lifted Magellan right out of math class. They flew home with all the extra loops, side trips, and coal snacks the healthy dragon wanted. All the coal on the barges was open to them, the heroes who’d made the river travel safer than ever. As they flew over a barge, the captain came out and waved a flag, asking them to land. Magellan gave the order and the dragon dropped down onto the deck and elegantly folded its wings.
