The last ancient wolf

Chapter 4

Oh no. Oh no! I say in my head, who can be my mate. Slowly I lift my head up looking at my mate to realise it’s Markus. He is looking at me wide eyed and unmoving.

“Umm” is all I can say. I can’t believe it’s Markus, he is going to reject me I just know it. Opal whines in my head feeling hurt that we haven’t been accepted already.

“I Markus Cullen reject Lucy Star as my mate and my future Luna” Markus whispers. A pain shoots through my chest as I clutch myself. “Accept it mutt!” Markus orders.

“I Lucy star accept your rejection.” This time Markus is the one feeling the pain of the bond breaking. As he falls I run out of the pack house to get as far away as I can.

“How could he reject us. His wolf wanted us” Opal whines, she is as hurt as I am. Crying I sit on a fallen tree contemplating on what to do.

“We will be okay Opal. All we need is each other”. I comforted my wolf.

Not realising how long we’ve been sitting on the log we start to hear loud noises coming from the pack. The Alpha ceremony has started. I knew I would be in trouble for not finishing my jobs but I don’t care. I want to stay out here.

“What do we have here then”. A voice said from the distance. Looking around I see a well dressed man, 6ft6 tall, deep blue eyes tanned body with wild hair. An aura that’s suffocating making me submit.

“I’m sorry if I disturbed you, I will leave” I say as I start to move.

“Wait you don’t have to leave. I’m prince Samuel but most call me Sam. Who might you be?” He asks with a big smile.

“I’m Lucy star your majesty”. I curtsied.

“Oh please stop with the formalities” he suddenly stops. “You’ve been crying what’s wrong” he asks.

I know I can’t lie to a prince. “ my mate just rejected me because the whole pack hates me and blames me for the vampire attacks” I expressed hating myself.

“WHAT! who is this person” he shouts.

“The new Alpha Markus” I hang my head in shame.

“Come with me” he grabs my hand dragging me to the celebrations. His aura suffocating the whole of the pack who start to bare their necks.

opal sniggers “They deserve it for how they treat us. But why is this prince helping us?” I just reply with I don’t know, it’s very odd behaviour from a prince.

“MARKUS! Where are you? Did you really reject her because of vampire attacks? It wasn’t her fault” the prince shouted. Markus stood there dumbfounded.

“She is the reason for my father’s Betas deaths. She deserves to suffer” he snaps back at the prince.

I’m starting to get angry with the constant blame. I was a child it wasn’t my fault. Next thing I know I’m in pain dropping to floor.

“AHHHH” I scream. What is happening to me, I feel my bones breaking.

“SHE IS SHIFTING” the prince screams “keep breathing let your wolf come out.” I concentrate on the princes voice doing as he ordered. The next thing I know I’m standing on all fours. Everyone is staring at me with mouths opened. What is going on.
