"Captain Shaw, we just got a call! A home invasion is going down at Highland Manor Apartments. Someone's being attacked!" Linnea, crisp in her uniform, reported to Captain Gabriel Shaw with urgency.
Gabriel was buried in a report. He spun around at the sound, his sharp, handsome features set, his tall frame standing rigid as a steel rod.
"Squad Three, gear up and roll out! Linnea, you stay put at the station!"
Linnea's face crumpled with frustration.
Ever since she had joined the force, everyone had wrapped her in bubble wrap, keeping her miles away from anything remotely dangerous. At this rate, she'd never get the real-world experience she craved.
