Alex's Point of View
'I wish I could tell you....'
That was twice I'd heard that in a matter of minutes. Neither Erin or April said 'I don't know' or 'I wish I knew'. They had selected 'I wish I could tell you'. Did that mean they knew something but couldn't, or wouldn't tell me? Or was I just seeing things that weren't there? My gut instinct told me that they were hiding something from me, possibly for my own good, but that should be my decision not theirs.
We sat in silence for a while, they both were looking at me with concern and I didn't want them to be worried so I decided to try and ask a less tricky question.
"So, I saw Charlie earlier,"
I stopped to take in Erin's expression, her eyes seemed to widen a little but other than that she appeared unfazed.
"Was everything ok?
