"Tina, don't be scared. I'm here. This jerk wouldn't dare do anything to you," Eric said, putting his left arm around Ruby and his right arm around Tina, his eyes warily fixed on William.
William moved his lips but didn't make a sound.
'D*mn it. I was trying to help but ended up being misunderstood,' he thought.
'A bunch of id*ots,' he mouthed.
Eric noticed William mouthing the word "id*ot" and immediately got angry. "William, don't push your luck! You took advantage of a female colleague in distress. Are you trying to justify yourself?"
"Look at how scared Tina is because of you. You should rot in h*ll, you jerk!" Ruby said, glaring at him with disgust, her tone venomous.
In Ruby's view, they had just broken up, but William seemed to be trying to take advantage of another woman. 'I must have been blind to have ever been interested in him!' she thought.
Seeing that Tina had no intention of explaining, William turned and walked away.
Standing next to people like this was nothing short of an insult to himself.
"Mr. Stone, calm down. It's not worth getting mad at a jerk like him," Ruby said in a soft, sweet voice as she leaned into Eric's embrace.
Then she glanced at Tina, who was also being held by Eric, her expression showing a hint of displeasure. Still, she forced a smile and said, "Tina, good thing we got here in time. Otherwise, that despicable William would've gotten his way. Aren't you going to thank Mr. Stone?"
Both being contracted artists at the same company, Tina and Ruby naturally knew each other.
When they first joined the company, they often confided in each other during late-night chats, hoping to support one another and work hard together. They even made a pact that whoever rose to fame first would help the other.
But after Ruby skyrocketed to fame through various means, Tina was left with nothing but the humble task of calling her "Ms. Lee," never receiving the promised help.
As Tina was reminiscing about these things, she suddenly felt a large hand slowly moving along her leg and even pinching it forcefully. Terrified, she immediately broke free from Eric's embrace.
"Th-Thank you, Mr. Stone. Thank you, Ms. Lee," Tina said, struggling to stand up, but she felt dizzy and almost fell. Eric quickly caught her again, his wandering hands now aiming for her chest.
Tina instinctively blocked him with her arm and managed to stand firm once more.
Back then, countless executives and investors tried to take advantage of her body, but she refused them all. There was no way she would tolerate someone as obviously sleazy as Eric.
Eric, slightly disappointed at not being able to grab her b*obs, didn't get angry. After all, on this deserted island, opportunities were bound to come.
He stood up, his eyes filled with ill desire as he sized up Tina, whose beauty far surpassed Ruby's.
At this moment, Tina was drenched from head to toe, her dress clinging tightly to her skin, perfectly outlining her figure. Her naturally full, perky chest stood out under the support of her bra, almost bursting out.
Her long, slender, and s*xy legs peeked through the slit in her dress, tantalizingly visible. Eric wanted to hoist them over his shoulders and take what he desired, even if it meant sacrificing his life.
More importantly, Eric had never heard of any scandals involving Tina, nor had she ever accepted private invitations from directors or investors.
If his guess was correct, she was probably still a virgin.
A woman like this was far more interesting than Ruby.
Out of spite, he gave Ruby a hard squeeze on her butt and then smiled at Tina. "No need to thank me. I'm your superior. It's my responsibility to protect you. Don't worry. Just watch how I deal with that pervert!"
Noticing Eric's blatant gaze, Tina felt a bit disgusted and hugged her shoulders tightly, sitting back down on the sand.
Ruby seemed to pick up on Eric's intentions and pressed herself even closer to him, her ample breasts rubbing against his arm. "Mr. Stone! I'm hungry."
Eric reluctantly tore his gaze away from Tina sitting on the beach and, holding Ruby's slender waist, said, "Let's go check how many fish your useless cousin has managed to catch."
Then, deliberately speaking loudly enough for Tina to hear, he added, "This is a deserted island. If you don't behave, you'll go hungry."
Ruby chimed in, "Mr. Stone is right! If you want to eat, you'd better behave. Keep pretending to be a chaste woman, and you'll just starve! Hahaha!"
Ruby had always looked down on Tina. Tina came from a better family, had a higher level of education, and, even after Ruby underwent plastic surgery, she still wasn't as attractive as Tina. Her figure also fell short in comparison.
When they attended auditions together, all the big-name directors wanted to sleep with Tina. Only when they couldn't get Tina would they reluctantly settle for Ruby.
Because of this, Ruby hated Tina.
She despised Tina's aloofness and envied how she could effortlessly secure better opportunities.
From that point on, Ruby would seize any chance to act like a caring friend, trying to trick Tina into sleeping with those directors. But no matter what she did, she never succeeded.
Now, letting Eric have a go at Tina felt like a decent consolation prize.
Meanwhile, William stood by a rock, holding a freshly speared fish in his hand.
There were indeed plenty of fish in the area. Every few steps, he'd encounter a large school of them spawning, unafraid of humans, making them incredibly easy to catch.
The two large fish he'd caught, weighing about eight pounds in total, were more than enough to satisfy him.
As for those ungrateful fools, he had no intention of helping them.
It was time they learned that the world was no longer a place where money guaranteed comfort.
William gathered a bundle of dry firewood and two sturdy branches from the edge of the jungle. He tossed them onto the ground and collected stones of various sizes nearby. Placing the firewood in the center, he arranged the stones around it to concentrate the heat.
Not far away, Eric and Ruby stood watching him, smirking mockingly.
William ignored them. Using his military knife, he gutted the fish, removed the roe, sharpened the branches, and skewered the fish through their mouths.
He then pulled out a Zippo lighter, lit the firewood, and placed the skewered fish between the stones to roast slowly. In about half an hour, he'd have perfectly grilled fish to enjoy.
Once everything was set, William wiped the sweat off his forehead, sat down on the beach, and looked at the fire with a satisfied smile.
At that moment, Eric and Ruby walked over, their eyes glued to the fragrant, oil-dripping grilled fish. They couldn't help but swallow hard.
Ruby broke the silence. "Mr. Stone, see? I told you my cousin is amazing!"
Eric sneered, "Amazing my *ss. These two fish aren't even enough for anyone," he said, reaching out to grab one of the grilled fish.
Without hesitation, William smacked Eric's hand away with a stick. Eric yelped in pain, clutching his hand and sucking in a sharp breath. "Get lost," William said coldly.
"How dare you hit me!" Eric shouted, his face twisting in anger.
William's gaze was icy as he stared him down.
Ruby's expression darkened as she glared at William. "What the h*ll are you doing, William? You're just a security guard! Grilling fish for Mr. Stone should be an honor for you. And now you dare hit him? Do you want to keep your job? If you keep this up, forget about a promotion or a raise. You might just get fired!"
Eric, still nursing his hand, sneered. "William, if you know what's good for you, hand over the fish. Otherwise, when we get back, I'll make your life a living h*ll!"
