Chapter 5

1610 Words
"You're gonna make my life a living h*ll, huh? Fine. There's no need for you to wait until we get back. Why don't you show me what you've got right now?" William sneered. William sat confidently on a rock, his military knife glinting coldly as he flipped it in his hand. He had been a special forces soldier, trained rigorously and experienced in executing high-stakes missions on the battlefield. His entire demeanor radiated a deadly aura. Even after leaving the military and becoming a security guard, he never slacked off in his training. His presence remained intimidating, an oppressive energy that someone like Eric, a vice president who indulged in drinking, gambling, and debauchery, could never hope to withstand. Eric felt a chill running down his spine, paralyzing him with fear and leaving him speechless. Ruby, seeing William's unyielding attitude, shouted angrily, "William, just because you were in the military for a few years doesn't mean you can disrespect Mr. Stone. Do you even know who Mr. Stone is? How dare you talk like this? Behave yourself! I'm ordering you right now to give the fish to Mr. Stone!" Ruby had always been used to bossing William around, and even though they had broken up, she still acted the same way. William stared at her mean face and wondered how he had ever tolerated her in the past. Just being around a woman like Ruby was nauseating. "Yeah! Aren't you soldiers supposed to protect civilians like us? I'm ordering you right now. Give me the fish!" With Ruby backing him up, Eric suddenly remembered his position as the company's vice president. Who was William, a lowly security guard, to talk back to him? "If you don't do as I say, I'll make sure you never even get the chance to work as a godd*mn security guard again!" "F*ck you!" William didn't want to waste time with them, but Eric clearly wasn't planning to let it go. "You've got some nerve! I'll—" Eric, furious, was about to make a move when William shot him a cold glare that froze him in his tracks. Eric instinctively took a step back, putting some distance between them before daring to speak again. "Ruby, see? Your cousin is an ungrateful b*stard! If we hadn't taken him in before, he wouldn't even be a security guard now. And look at him now. He's so selfish!" William didn't bother responding. Seeing that the fish was almost done roasting, he grabbed one, blew on it to cool it down, and took a bite. The oil of the juicy fish dripped down the corner of his mouth, its rich aroma filling the air. Eric and Ruby couldn't help but swallow hard. Ruby, unable to resist any longer, reached out. "William, give me a fish." William ignored her and kept eating. Ruby knew William would never dare hit her. Before they broke up, he had been behaving like a coward who didn't even dare to say a harsh word to her. So she quickly walked over and reached for the sizzling, oil-dripping fish. William slapped her hand away. "Get lost. I don't wanna see your face!" Tina had been silently watching the argument the entire time, never saying a word. Seeing that William had no intention of sharing the roasted fish, she quietly walked to the edge of the forest, picked up a relatively sharp stick, and mimicked his actions by heading to the rocks by the sea. The fish, which had been scared off earlier, had settled back into a calm cluster, plump and abundant. Holding the "spear" with both hands, she steadied her stance, focused her energy, and stabbed down hard! Splash! A scream, followed by the sound of water splashing, caused William and the others to instinctively look up. Tina fell into a shallow pool of water, her soft arms and legs scraped. William chuckled to himself. For someone with no experience fishing to try spearing fish with a stick was pure fantasy. But Tina didn't give up. She gritted her teeth through the pain, climbed out of the pool, moved to another rock, and tried again. Eric, seeing this, turned to William with a vicious tone. "William, don't think we can't survive without you. Just wait. When I get back, I'll make sure you're finished!" With that, he ran over to Tina. "Tina, there are fish over there! Stab them, now!" It seemed he still had no intention of doing it himself. Ruby stood where she was, glaring at William with venomous eyes. "Do you know why you're still just a pathetic security guard after all this time? It's because you're useless! You know nothing, you can't do anything, and you have nothing to offer me. You have no power, no status, and no money! You'll always just be a security guard! You're not worthy of me!" After spitting out her venom, she picked up a stick and ran to the rocks. But she didn't seem like she was trying to fish. Instead, she appeared to be playing around. Facing away from Eric, she bent down, her curvy hips sticking out as she scooped up warm seawater to wet her bikini again. Under the sunlight, the thin fabric clung to her body, revealing her large, seductive n*pples. Eric, who had been busy directing Tina, suddenly felt a surge of lust. He walked up behind Ruby and embraced her, gripping one of her breasts with one hand and grabbing her wrist with the other. He sneered, "Haha, how can you catch any fish like that? Let me show you how it's done!" "Oh, thank you, Mr. Stone," Ruby said coyly, purposefully rubbing her backside against Eric's crotch, making his scalp tingle with the desire to take her right then and there. Tina watched the scene coldly. Back at the company, Ruby had slept her way to the top, becoming a famous actress with widespread fame. Now, even on this deserted island, she still wanted to use her body to trade for food, which was utterly foolish. Without hesitation, Tina moved to a different spot, deliberately denying Eric the chance to leer at her. Ruby noticed her actions and felt a surge of hatred rising in her chest. 'D*mn it, this b*tch thinks she's some chaste woman, acting all high and mighty. She deserves to be an obscure actress forever,' Ruby thought. Tina failed several more times in a row. As the sun began to set, she finally started to figure out the right way to catch fish. Summoning all her focus, she tried again. This time, she finally caught something with her stick. It was a fish weighing over two pounds! Her appetite wasn't large, so this fish was more than enough to get her through the night. When Tina climbed out of the waterhole, her face lit up with joy as she imagined roasting the fish and making it through the evening. But before she could leave, Eric and Ruby, who had been all lovey-dovey earlier, suddenly appeared in front of her. Ruby's eyes locked greedily on the fish. With a sly smile, she said, "Wow, Tina, I didn't expect you to catch one so fast!" She turned to Eric and added, "See? Even without that b*stard, we can still fill our stomachs." Before Tina could react, Ruby suddenly snatched the fish from her hands. "Hey! That's my fish!" Tina protested immediately. Ruby replied with a smirk, "Come on. It's for everyone, isn't it? Besides, one fish isn't enough for all of us. How about this: Mr. Stone and I will take it back to roast, and you can catch a couple more." Tina tried to grab the fish back, but Ruby quickly darted behind Eric and whined, "Mr. Stone, help me..." Eric cleared his throat and said, "Ahem, Tina, you shouldn't be selfish like that b*stard. I've helped you a lot in the past. Don't worry. When we get back, I'll make sure the board invests in a TV series for you to star in as the lead actress!" Ruby chimed in, "Exactly, Tina. You know we're stranded on this island. If we don't stick together, we won't survive. It's just that we're not as skilled at catching fish as you are, so we'll have to trouble you to catch more. But don't worry. We'll do what we can. I'll take care of roasting the fish. I've done it plenty of times before." Of course, Ruby had never done anything like that in her life. She just wanted Tina to keep catching fish to feed them. Tina, being soft-hearted, gave in. Besides, Ruby had already taken the fish. 'Well, if going along with this means I can star in a TV series when we get back, a little suffering is acceptable,' she thought. "Fine, I'll go catch some more," she said reluctantly. Eric and Ruby strutted over to William, flaunting the two-pound fish in front of him. "Well, William, did you really think we'd starve without you? Letting you give us your fish was a favor, an opportunity for you to make it to the top. Who the h*ll do you think you are to refuse? Pathetic fool!" Ruby sneered, acting as if she had caught the fish herself. William watched them coldly. He had seen everything that had just happened. He only thought Tina was incredibly foolish, but it didn't matter to him. If someone wanted to play the saint, he wasn't going to stop them. Eric reached out, trying to grab William's knife, but William was faster, gripping it tightly in his hand. His voice was sharp and commanding. "Get lost!"
