Chapter 10

Appollo finished the rest of his breakfast in silence. He claimed the spiral staircase and was soon walking towards Winston, who was by now staring into a distance. "Winston." Winston was startled. He shook his head and smiled at Appollo. "How was the food?" "Delicious, thank you." "So, you wanted to talk to me about something?" "Yes. About the Island." "Let's go for a walk, shall we?" "Sure." Winston walked around the desk and both were soon strolling in the garden. Appollo looked around. The motel was indeed an architectural marvel. It looked like a mini version of a castle. The garden around it was well maintained. It was surrounded by high walls on all sides. The duo strolled around for sometime before settling down in the grass. "So, Appollo. What brings you to Zen? And why this interest in the Island?" "I'm actually a novelist. I heard about the Island from one of my friends back in Delphis, who is actually a journalist. I found it intriguing. So I thought of writing my next book on it." Winston raised an eyebrow. "Journalist friend? What is his name?" "Damon" "Philander?" Appollo looked at him surprised. "How do you know him?" Winston shrugged. "I've read The Speculum. That guy's quite famous right." Appollo smiled. "Yes. For a minute, I thought you might be acquaintances and he didn't even mention it to me." There was an unreadable look on Winston's face, which Appollo ignored. "No of course not. I visit Delphis only for business purposes. No journalist friends." "Mmm.." "So... The Munroe Island."
