Chapter 5

She wondered why this lady was running towards them. She could hear the whole team saying,

"Lucy?"

When she reaches us, she immediately hugs Rome. The team leader who's hugged by the beautiful lady asks,

"Why are you here?"

The lady answered,

"Hello to you too."

Rome shakes his head and says

"No, that's not what I mean. You're supposed to be in Europe, right?"

The lady smiled and answered.

"I was in Miami and Em called me last night. I was done with my business in Europe. That's why I took a little vacation in Miami. Em told me everything. Is she the one??"

She looks at Zy while asking. Yoko replied,

"Yep, this is Lucy, one of our scouts. This is Zy the one who helped Rome."

Lucy immediately hugs Zy and kisses her on the cheeks and says

"Thank you so much! So boss? When are we getting married now that you're cured?"

Zy was shocked by what she heard because another gorgeous lady is attracted to the asshole who she hates, while the team just shakes their heads. In her mind,

"What do these people see in him?"

Yoko just grabs Lucy by the hair and tells Zy

"I'm so sorry. She's kind of well shameless."

Zy replied.

"No, it's fine. I was just shocked because another one?"

Lucy looked at her and Rome replied because he thought she was insulting one of his subordinates.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Yoko immediately gets to the middle and says

"It's nothing. It's an inside joke between Lia, me and her. Let's go inside. Lucy, do you have food?"

Lucy just smiled like she forgot what Zy said and said,

"Of course. Let's go inside."

When they entered the house, the table was full of food of different kinds, from salad to steak. Lucy said

"Em told me that you would be driving straight from Texas so I thought you would be starving and you came from Afghanistan. So let's eat so that we can talk about the plan."

Everyone sits down by the table and starts eating. Lucy said while eating,

"Boss, Em told me you would head straight to Montana, so I got you your gear. I can show it to you after eating."

Rome answered,

"Okay, we need something tactical and mobile." Lucy just smiled and said, "Don't worry. I got you."

They continued eating and talking while they had their food. Rome says

"We're staying here for 2 days. We need to prepare. Be familiar with everything that we need."

Everyone replied.

"Yes boss."

Zy asks Yoko

"We're staying here for 2 days? Is that okay?"

Lucy interrupted them by answering her question.

"Yes, we need to stay here so that the US government will have no idea where you are. Much safer for you."

She then sits beside Zy and looks at her smiling. Zy says

"I'm so sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to offend you in any way."

Lucy replied while smiling.

"It's okay. You're the one who saved the future father of my children. I can't be mad at you."

Yoko then tells her "Not your future husband or anything in any way."

She just laughs and said while looking at Yoko and Lia,

"You said earlier, "another one". Does that mean they already told you that they have feelings for him?"

Zy replied.

"Ah, yes, they told me."

Lucy just smiled and said

"Good. Now you know you have 3 competitions."

Zy shakes her head while she pulls away.

"Wait. Wait. You got it wrong. There's no way I'm falling for that guy."

Lucy just laughs and says

"HAHA! We'll see."

Yoko tells her

"Stop teasing her and just eat your food."

Yoko continues eating while Lia and Lucy are smiling at Zy. Zy is embarrassed by what she said and just continues to eat.

They finished their dinner and all of them headed to the back of the house. It has a huge backyard and no other houses. The whole house is like a safe house in the woods where no other houses are around. Zy asks

"You have no neighbors here?"

Yoko replies,

"No, it's 3 hectares of land, and the next house is about 2 or almost 3 hectares from here. Rome spends a lot when it comes to our bases. His money from every job basically goes to our other bases aside from this," Lia added. "He said we need to feel safe and secure when it comes to our bases. We can't call a base if we can't rest there."

Zy realizes that this guy is actually a bit smart and he truly thinks for the safety of his men. Lucy started talking,

"Okay, first your vehicle. We have here 3 Ford Broncos fully equipped with bullet-proof plates so they can still run even if you are gunned down. Not unless you're shot with a Beretta 1301. It has gun compartments for both your sidearm and your rifles. Next is your Kevlar vest. It's carbon fiber, so you can hide it under your clothes. It can't stop a pocket knife, but can surely stop most hand guns, but it will be painful. Next is your gear. First for the front line is the IWI Tavor X95, more accurate and more powerful than the M4 carbine that you used in Afghanistan and I had the contractor make some adjustments to make it more compact. But accuracy and the firepower are still the same. I also have 2 grenade launchers that you can use. Just choose whoever is using it. Next for Nick and Lia is the Blaser R93 Tactical. Accuracy is, of course, remarkable. I was gonna give you the Barrett M82A1 but that s**t is too strong. We don't need some bad guy's inside splatter in the road. Next is your side. I have here the Glock .34 and Glock .26, you can take your pick. And, of course, 2 thousand rounds for every gun. Enjoy!"

Everyone takes the guns that were shown to them and tests them out. Zy, on the other hand, was shocked when looking at Lucy having knowledge of all this stuff. In her mind,

"She's younger than me, but when she talks about these guns, it seems like she has already held and killed someone with a gun."

Zy also looks at Rome testing out the guns and she sees that the guy she so hates is actually kind of manly when holding all those guns. She was interrupted and startled when looking at Rome. When Yoko started talking to her, she said,

"Here, you can have this one."

Yoko handed her the Glock 26 and she immediately replied,

"No, no, I'm fine. I don't need it."

Zy refused the gun because she had never actually held a gun before and because she was scared of it.

"Don't worry. It's fine. I'm gonna teach you how to use it safely and it's empty so you don't have to be scared."

Zy is still hesitant about getting the gun. Yoko says

"I know that I promised you that I would protect you and I will. But you also need this because there will be times that I am not gonna be there to protect you, so you need to, atleast have this to protect yourself. Don't worry, I'm gonna be there or any of us every step of the way to teach you how to use it."

Zy agreed and took the gun.

"Okay, that's the first step. We don't need to fire it tonight. You can just hold on to it for now. What you have is a Glock 26 gun. I know it's small, but it's still deadly. The first thing in safely handling a gun also happens to be the most important thing, is knowing that all guns, no matter how big or how small, can kill someone. As long as you know that, you will always have the right mind about handling a gun."

Zy looks at the gun while listening to Yoko. She realizes that maybe it's time for her to learn how to protect herself. Rome starts saying,

"When you're done familiarizing your gear, get some sleep. Tomorrow we will go again with the plan and test out these guns at the range."

All of them finished checking their gear and guns and went ahead to their respective rooms to sleep. Zy was obviously happy because it was the first time that she could sleep in a proper bed for a very long time. Yoko escorts her to her room and tells her,

"Okay, this is your room and mine will be next door. If you need anything, just bang the wall twice and I will come for you. Get some sleep tonight and I will wake you up tomorrow."

Zy smiled at her and said,

"You don't need to do that, you've done so much for me. You should get some sleep."

Yoko smiled at her and started going to her room. Zy starts entering the room and she sees a queen-sized bed with four pillows and a soft white blanket. Beside the bedding there is a set of clothes, a pair of jeans, a shirt and new underwear with her exact size. She also looks at blue pajamas that she can wear to sleep. She wonders how they got her exact measurements when they never asked for them, especially those underwear. She didn't mind it further because she was starting to think that this group of people were really good at their job. She starts to head to the bathroom to take a shower and goes to bed using the P.J's that was on the bed. She was fast asleep, maybe because of all the fatigue she got from the horrifying events that happened in Afghanistan and also the soft bed and pillows that smelled really good also helped in making her fall asleep. Morning came and Zy woke up at the knock at the door. She stands up to open it with her hair all mussed and tangled, her face that obviously has dried up saliva, a few buttons on her pajama shirt that's no longer buttoned up. She had a typical out of bed look but she didn't care because she thought it was Yoko who had just come to her room to wake her up before going into a shower. She opens the door and she sees Yoko, who's obviously been ready for at least a couple of hours, an Asian woman whose hair is really shiny and has obviously been to showers already. A pretty Japanese girl who's fresh and ready to start the day in front of her while she's looking like a Chinese slob who still has saliva on her face. Yoko just smiled while looking at her and said,

"Ready for breakfast?"

Zy heard those words and immediately realized that she was inviting her to go downstairs with all those people while she was looking like a dried up turtle. She immediately says,

"Give me 10 minutes."

Zy rushed to the bathroom to take a shower. The 10 minutes that she asked from Yoko was actually 45 minutes and she wore the pair of jeans and shirt that was on the bed last night. She went downstairs and Yoko approached her and told her to sit at the table for breakfast. In her mind, she felt a little insecure of Yoko because she thinks that Yoko is prettier than her because of her small nose, porcelain complexion and, of course, her sweet attitude. Any man would be lucky to have her as his girlfriend. It's a shame though that she's in love with that idiotic muscle. Head boss of hers. Zy mumbled,

"Well, it's a good thing she's good to me. If not, I will really hate her."

Yoko heard her mumbling and says,

"What? Who do you hate?"

Zy was shocked that Yoko heard her because she thought she had said that in her mind. Zy says,

"Oh nothing. I was just thinking about the things that happened and I really hated that experience."

Yoko just smiled at her and said,

"Just sit down and eat, I will teach you how to use a gun after breakfast."

Zy's eyes widely opened when she heard that because she was still hesitant about using or even holding a gun. She says,

"Do I really have to? I mean I can stay out of the way when you guys are fighting or firing your guns at those horrible people. I'm still not sure if I want to use a gun."

Rome heard what Zy had just said and immediately interrupted her conversation with him and Yoko and says,

"You need to at least know how to fire and use it for your own protection. We don't expect you to be guns blazing out there with just 1 day of teaching you. I know that your daddy paid us a lot to protect you, but there will be times that you need to rely on yourself."

Upon hearing those words, she was quiet because she was ashamed that she was helpless and insulted that this person needed to point it out. She was about to stand up and yell at Rome, then walked out but she heard a loud thumping sound. When she looked at Rome, it was Lucy, the woman who said last night that she would be the future wife of this horrible person. He hit him in the head while saying,

"That was uncalled for. What's wrong with you? Apologize to her. Come on. Don't be an asshole and apologize."

Lucy was hitting his head while telling him off. Zy looks at Rome with contempt and Rome looks back and says,

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you."

Zy did not respond and just sat back down and just started eating. She was about to talk to Yoko but when she looked at her, she was looking at Rome and obviously pissed like she was ready for a fist fight. Yoko looks at her and says,

"I'm really sorry about that. Don't worry, I'll handle that i***t later."

Zy just continues to eat and says,

"Don't worry about it."

Zy finished eating her breakfast and starts to look for Yoko because she realized that even though what that asshole said was insulting, it was true. She realized that she needed to at least learn to fire a gun because she was really helpless during the time that she was held captive in the Middle East. She saw Yoko, who was obviously yelling at Rome and she was shocked because all of them were really respecting this man, but now, he looked like a kid that was being yelled at by his parents for doing something stupid. She sees Yoko, Lucy and Rome walking towards her. When they reached her, Rome was looking at her and said

"I'm sorry for what I said earlier. It was not my intention to offend you in any way. I was just trying to help and, unfortunately, I said it the wrong way. I hope we can get along from now on."

Rome puts his hand out, offering a handshake. Zy just shakes his hand and says,

"I'm starting to get used to you being an asshole, so you don't need to worry about it."

Yoko and Lucy just laughed a bit and they all started to head out the back to test out the guns they got last night. When they get to the back, Lucy starts talking to others and Rome checks the vehicle that was given to them last night. Yoko hands the gun from last night to Zy and says,

"Here, don't worry, we'll take it slow. Once again, what you have with you is a Glock 26. I know it's small, but it is still lethal. It's empty, I have the magazine here. Usually Glock 26 only has 10 rounds in every mag but Lucy made some adjustments to make it 14. Remember to count every bullet you shoot so that you will know if your gun is empty or not. Are you ready to fire it? Coz if you're not, we can do it later."

Zy looks at the gun in her hands, still hesitant, but she really wants to do it. She wants to learn how to protect herself. She tells Yoko in an aggressive way,

"Yeah! Let's do it!!"

Yoko was startled because of Zy's loud but obviously nervous response and, says while smiling,

"Okay, damn girl, calm down. We are not shooting a person yet."

Zy replied and obviously scared,

"I'm sorry. I'm really nervous, this is the first time I will be firing a gun."

Yoko started to hold her shoulders and says,

"It's okay, don't worry. First, you need to relax your shoulders because there will be recoil from the gun. Glock recoils are not that strong, but since it's your first time we need to make sure. Before I put the mags in, you have to make sure that your finger is not on the trigger if your not planning on using them. You don't have to always put your finger on the trigger "to be ready" anytime. You just put your finger on it if you are firing it. The second is your stance. To avoid falling down because of the recoil, your dominant feet should be at the back to keep your body from falling down."

Zy puts her right foot at the back while her right foot is in front to get proper and strong balance. Yoko says,

"Okay, that's good. Do you think you're balanced in that position? You think you won't fall down from that?"

Zy replied,

"Yeah, I guess I can handle it."

Yoko then says,

"Okay, always remember that position when firing a gun. If you have a better position that you're more comfortable in, you can change into that position. Here, load the gun with these mags on the gun and bolt the handle at the top. Just slide that long top part backwards. Just make sure that your finger is not on the trigger when your doing it."

Zy c***s the gun and Yoko says,

"Now this is the safety of the gun. If the safety is on, the gun won't fire. Let's try to fire it. Are you ready?"

Zy replied,

"Yeah."

Zy was about to fire her first gun with the assistance of Yoko. She is both excited and scared. When she was about to pull the trigger of the gun that was pointing to the sketch target, she hears Lia calling for Yoko.

"Hey Yoko! When you're done there, can you help me out with this?"

Yoko looks at Lia, who's handling some medical supplies that they will need for transport.

"Okay, I'll be there-Hey, wait don't touch that. You'll contaminate it. And don't-. Oh my god."

Yoko says when she saw Lia going through the medical supplies. Yoko looked at Zy and says,

"Okay, give it to me."

Yoko took the gun from Zy and removed the magazine and the bullet from the chamber and says,

"Let me go there for just 2 minutes. I really hate when people touch my medical gear. I will be back and we will start shooting things. Okay?"

Yoko gives Zy the gun and the magazine separately and Zy agrees by nodding.Zy was looking at Yoko heading to Lia. The two of them were talking and started going through the medical supplies. Zy was looking at the gun in her hands and decided to try it on her own. She put the magazine on the gun and c***s it in an obviously beginners way. She started to point the gun at the target in a really awkward way and it took her too long to fire it because she was nervous and scared, she was just watching her target with the gun in her hands without doing anything. Rome, while checking the vehicles, saw Zy pointing a gun at something but he was bothered because he knew that she would fall down after firing the gun in that stance, even if the gun recoil was not that powerful. He says, "Oh, For Christ's sake," and starts heading towards Zy. When he reached her, he immediately held the hands of Zy with his left hand and started wrapping his right arm around Zy's shoulder while saying,

"Once that gun goes off, the recoil will make the gun fly straight to your face, which will make you fall down. You have to tighten your grip on the gun and make sure that your center is strong so that you will not fall down."

Rome also started moving his feet by grabbing her legs when he was talking about her center of gravity. Zy was quiet and did not hear a single word that Rome said. She was shocked that he touched her on the hands, shoulders and her legs. This person doesn't even look at her, but now he is giving her gun lessons, but she was turned on a little because this guy is actually really manly because of his arm muscles and the way he touched her legs and shoulders was actually really strong and he smells good for a muscle head i***t. While looking at him, she finally hears what he's saying. Rome says,

"Hey! Did you hear what I said?"

Zy slightly shakes her head and replies,

"What?"

Rome replies and is obviously pissed and says,

"I said tighten your grip, left in front, right foot at the back, then shoot. Is that hard to understand?"

Zy realized that despite all those things that turned her on a little, this guy is still an asshole and says,

"I still don't get it. Why don't you stand in front of me while I do all those things you said, then shoot."

Rome angrily says,

"Just fire the goddamn gun."

Yoko and Lia, who were going through the medical supplies, hear Rome and Zy arguing and when they look at them they are both quiet because they realize that Rome and Zy looked like a cute couple arguing.Yoko and Lia were not talking and just looks at them, and Lucy walks in and says in a teasing way,

"That's five of ussssss."

Then she walks away. Lia and Yoko looked at each other and Lia said,

"Told you I had a feeling."

Yoko responds,

"Oh please, we're worried about nothing."

The two of them went back to what they were doing while the rest of the team was busy with their own things. Zy started to shoot the target when Rome said,

"Okay, you already saw your target. The next step is pulling the trigger. The target won't drop dead if you just point and stare at it."

Zy started to get pissed because of all Rome's talking. In her mind she says,

"Shut uuuuppp. I can't really concentrate on all your nagging. I'm just really nervous."

Rome started to see that Zy was scared because she was shaking while holding and pointing the gun. He stands near Zy and calmly whispers to her,

"Relax, you don't need to kill the person you are pointing your gun at. Pulling the trigger doesn't mean your automatically killing someone. Relax, tighten your grip and slowly pull the trigger."

When Zy hears those words she tightens her grip on the gun and slowly pulls the trigger. She hit the rock behind the target but she was happy that she successfully fired the gun. She really thought that she couldn't do it, but Rome's words really helped her. She looked at Rome smiling. Rome says,

"Good. Now let's try aiming for the target this time."

Zy's smiling face immediately turned into a frown because she gave it all by just firing the gun, but the i***t in front of her didn't seem to see that and was still not satisfied with what she did. Zy sarcastically says,

"You know what, why don't you try to do it since your so good at that?"

Zy offers the gun to Rome while saying those words and Rome grabs the gun and shoots the target three times, all of which hit the target perfectly. When Zy sees that Rome's three shots hit the target perfectly, she says,

"Nobody likes a show-off."

Rome just looks at her with a smug face and says,

"You're the one who offered me the gun. I just did what you told me."

Zy replied,

"Well, that's because your the d**k who's asking for perfection from a beginner."

Yoko, who was done with what she was doing with Lia, immediately stops the two before their argument gets more heated by saying,

"Okay kids, that's enough. Zy, you did great in pulling the trigger and Rome come on man, you're bullying her about this. What is the matter with you?"

Rome replied,

"What? I was just trying to help."

Yoko then says,

"Just go with the others, try the rifles. I got it here."

As Rome walks away, he sees Zy smiling at him with a smug face. Yoko sees Zy teasing Rome with her smug smile and says,

"You too. What is the matter with you two? You both act like children. Damn."

Zy just bends her head down in embarrassment and says,

"Sorry. I just really can't stand that guy."

Yoko replied, smiling,

"Are you sure?"

Zy confusingly answered,

"What? What do you mean?"

Yoko slightly laughed and said,

"It's nothing. It's actually kind of your fault. You offered the gun to him even though I already told you that he is a genius at it. Of course he will hit the target."

Zy awkwardly smiles and says,

"Yeah, I kind of forgot about that."

Yoko then grabs the gun, takes the magazine out, then removes the bullet from the chamber and then gives a new magazine together with the gun to Zy and says,

"Okay, now let's start over. Here, you start over from the very beginning. Put the magazine in and c**k the gun and start shooting. Remember your position when you first fired it."

Zy grabs the gun then puts the magazine in and c***s the gun and points at the target. She's still doing it slowly and awkwardly like the first time, but there's a little improvement since she already felt about how to shoot something using that gun. While Zy was slowly shooting something at the other side of the range, Rome was checking the rifle together with the others. Miggy asks him,

"Boss? Are you going for the Glock 26?"

Rome replied,

"I'm going with the 36. The 26 is too small for me and it feels awkward in my hands."

Wade jokingly responds by saying,

"Really? You? The gun messiah can feel awkwardness when holding a gun? How is that possible?"

Rome shakes his head while laughing slightly and says,

"Shut up."

Miggy then says,

"Hey, boss, how about a little competition while testing out these bad boys?"

Rome immediately answered,

"No."

But Miggy was insistent on this 'little competition' and said,

"Oh come on, I will drive for the whole trip to Montana and I will do the maintenance for the whole trip."

Wade, who was with other team members, sarcastically whispers,

"Oh, this will be fun."

Then he walked towards Rome and Miggy, who were talking about the little competition. The rest of the team was just shaking their heads as they watched. Wade walks towards Rome and Miggy because they know that this will be another work of the devil, which is Wade. As Wade reaches Rome, he says,

"Hey boss, I think it's a good idea. If there are problems with the guns like jams or inaccuracy, we can identify them as early as now. Plus, if you win, he will do the maintenance on the car and also the guns. How about that?"

Rome replied,

"Why don't you do it?"

Wade just laughed and said,

"Nah, we all know you're his prey. We can't take that away from him."

Rome looks at the guns and realizes that Wade actually has a point and what's the harm to a little fun. He looks at Miggy and says,

"You sure you wanna do this? Will you do maintenance of the cars and the guns? The whole trip?"

Miggy replied,

"Well, only if you win. How about if I win? What do I get?"

Rome answered,

"If you win, I'll do the same."

Miggy, with a smug smile, says,

"Nah, I want more than that. I want the Blade from Japan."

Everyone was shocked by what they heard and Wade, who was the instigator, says,

"Wooohooo. This is gonna be awesome. So, boss,what's it gonna be?"

Rome smiled and said,

"Okay, sure. Only if you win."

Everyone cheered and was excited. Wade then declares himself as the referee and says,

"Okay, let's do this. You boys prepare for 15 minutes while we prepare the range. You get the rifle and choose between the Glock 36 or 26."

Yoko and Zy hear the commotion and Yoko sighs when she sees what's happening. Zy asks her,

"What's going on?"

Yoko replied,

"Another one of those stupid challenges of these kids."

Zy, who was confused, asks Yoko,

"What do you mean?"

Yoko then replied,

"Remember when I said that Rome is a genius when it comes to guns or any other weapons in the world? Well, Miggy and Snail actually have the potential to be as good as him and those 2 idiots always challenge Rome when they have the chance and this bigger i***t, Wade, always encourages those stupid duels. Let's take a break and go there."
