Chapter 10

Yoko saw someone tackling Rome to the ground. When she looked at who it was, it was Zy. She wondered why Zy was there. Everyone was shocked when they saw Rome get shot and got tackled to the ground, but even more, shocked when they saw that it was Zy who tackled him.

Rome, who was already numb and about to lose consciousness, went to look at the person who tackled him to the ground. He saw someone he didn't recognize but looked familiar. It was a beautiful Asian woman. After recognizing Zy's face, Rome immediately loses consciousness. Everyone was worried about Rome and everyone tried going to where Rome was because they saw in their own eyes the blood of Rome pouring out of his body. They were stopped by Zy, who put her hand up as a gesture to stop them from approaching. It was Wade who was obviously worried about Rome, but he was too occupied with holding Yoko who was already crying and trying to approach an unconscious Rome who was being held by Zy. With all the gunshots and other noises in the desert, it was obvious in Zy's face that she was trying to concentrate. Zy said,

"Give me space. I am trying to concentrate. Yoko, don't worry, I will save him."

Yoko was looking at Zy who, concentrating while having her palms in Rome's face. She was really confident that she could save Rome using her blessing. After a few seconds, Zy's hands started to glow while holding Rome's face. While holding Rome's face, Zy said,

"Come on. You're not done yet."

While saying those words, Zy looked at Rome's wounds from the gunshots but they were still not healing and blood kept on pouring out. Yoko, who was looking at bloody Rome, kept on crying because she could see that whatever Zy was doing was not helping Rome or even healing his wounds. Even though Rome was unconscious, it was obvious in his face that he was in pain. After a few seconds of trying, Rome finally started to heal until all the gunshot wounds closed up. Wade and Yoko saw this and started to feel a little relieved. With all the bullets being shot at them, they didn't care because all they cared about was that Rome was no longer wounded. But Zy was still worried because even though Rome was no longer wounded, he was still unconscious and she knew right away, Rome's heart was not beating. Zy started doing CPR on Rome. Yoko saw her doing CPR on Rome and she asks,

"What's going on?"

When Zy heard Yoko, she looked at her and said while continuing compressing Rome's chest,

"I want you to calm down, his heart stopped beating but I'm on it."

When Yoko heard Zy say those words, she broke down and immediately went down on her knees while Wade was holding her down. Wade was also shocked and about to cry when he heard that his heart stopped beating. Zy continued to compress Rome's chest but nothing was still happening. She decided to do a mouth to mouth resuscitation. That was the first time their lips touched, but Zy did not think of anything. Even the thought of Rome being an asshole to her. All she thought about was saving the patient that was in front of her. Wade's radio earphones that were attached to one of his ears started to sound. It says,

"What is going on down there? What is she doing to Rome?"

It was Em who was asking because she saw Zy tackling Rome and the rest that she did after tacking him. Em was worried. That's why she contacted them through the radio. Em told Nick and Lia,

"Rome is down! Cover them! Make sure no one approaches!"

When Zy heard Em's voice, she immediately said,

"Turn it off. I can't concentrate when I hear her voice."

Wade was shocked that Zy could hear Em's voice even though he was using an earphone radio. Wade also noticed that Zy was trying her best to concentrate on reviving Rome, so he didn't say anything and just turned off the radio. After a few minutes of CPR, it was obvious that Zy was already exhausted, compressing Rome's chest, but she did not stop and kept on going even though there was no sign of life in Rome's body. Yoko, who broke down and cried her eyes out from earlier, asks,

"Zy?"

Yoko cried more after she called out Zy like she realized something. Zy replied,

"Give me more time. I can do this. Come on! Wake up!"

Yoko did not respond and just continued to cry. Even with all the gunshot sounds and bullets all over the place, they couldn't see or hear anything. Wade and Yoko were worried about Rome while Zy had her full concentration on doing CPR to revive Rome. The others who were on the ground were all busy returning fire so that Agent Banks and his men wouldn't be able to approach even further, especially to where Rome was. Nick and Lia were also busy taking out enemies from the higher ground using their sniper rifles. Em, who was on the look out for the two snipers, noticed that someone was sneaking into the woods. She immediately picked up the assault rifle that was on the ground and pointed it at the trees in the woods. She fired the gun and out of nowhere a man came out obviously wounded and fell on the ground. She then says,

"They know this location. Wrap it up guys. We need to move."

Lia and Nick looked at Em, who was holding a rifle. Nick replied,

"I'm almost done."

Lia added,

"I'm done."

Em then replied,

"Let's go. There's another stone hill 50 meters from here. Let's go there."

The three of them immediately moved, bringing their sniping rifles. Below the hill, Nick, Lia and Em were from. There was Zy who continued doing CPR on Rome but still had no luck. It was obvious that Rome was no longer breathing. When Zy looked at Rome who was lying on the ground, already dead, she saw something weird. Even though Rome was no longer breathing, she could see emotions on his face and that is not normal on a person's face who was no longer breathing. She could see in Rome's face that he was in pain and full of regret. Zy stopped compressing Rome's chest and looked at Yoko, who was crying her eyes out and being held by Wade. Zy could see that Yoko was also in pain. She once again looked at Rome and said,

"Damn it!"

The next thing that Zy did shocked everyone. Even Yoko, who was crying her eyes out, was startled by what Zy did. Zy put her lips on Rome's but not to blow air into his chest. It was obvious that Zy kissed Rome. She kissed him tenderly and passionately. Even with all the noises due to the gunshots, everyone who saw it was shocked, quiet and couldn't do anything. A few seconds after Zy kissed Rome, she fell down on Rome's chest and lost consciousness. Wade and Yoko, who were in front of them, were shocked when Zy fell down. They immediately came to her aid to check if she was fine. Em, Nick and Lia arrive at the stone hill that Em was referring to earlier. They set up their rifles for sniping and Em started looking down using her binoculars. She saw Rome still on the ground and also Zy, who was also down. She immediately used her radio to contact them. She said,

"What the f**k is going on down there? Why is the package down? What's wrong with Rome?"

Yoko heard Em on her earphone and replied,

"She's fine. She just lost consciousness. Just continue to cover us. I think she did something."

Em aggressively replied,

"I don't give a s**t about her. How is he doing?"

Yoko hesitantly replied,

"He's not breathing."

Em was shocked by what she heard and replied,

"What? Why did you let her touch him? You should be the one doing the first aid. Not her!"

Yoko confidently replied,

"Calm down. I think she did something to save him. I trust her."

Em angrily replied,

"If something happens to him, it's on you. For trusting her."

Yoko replied,

"I know. Just shut up and keep on covering us. Make sure no one gets here."

Em did not respond and just continued to give instructions and enemy locations to Lia and Nick. Zy, who fell down and lost consciousness, was in a dark place when she came to her senses. She was confused as to where she was. She couldn't see or hear anything. All she remembers was that she kissed Rome on the lips and she blacked out. She looked around but she couldn't see anything because it was too dark. She tried screaming her lungs out but it seemed no one was there to hear her. Suddenly, she heard something. A sound that seemed to be crying and a voice that seemed to be laughing. She walked towards those sounds and walking after a few seconds she saw a little boy who was on the ground with his wrist covering his face while resting on his knees and a man that seemed to be talking to the little boy. She heard the man saying to the little boy saying,

"Give me your body and I will make sure that those bastards who killed her will die. HAHAHAHA!"

Zy realized something when she heard those words. The little boy was Rome and the man who was talking to him was The Devil himself. She immediately ran towards the little boy and every step she took, the little boy grew little by little. When she reached Rome, the jester noticed her and said,

"You're not supposed to be here."

When Zy heard those words, she looked at the person who said it, she saw that the person had no face on him. It was a blank face that was slowly fading into nothingness. The man without a face was completely gone in the dark. Zy looked at Rome who was on the ground. His head was down and he was clearly crying. She was about to offer her hand to Rome when suddenly she was pulled back aggressively by something she didn't understand. As Zy was being pulled away, she saw Rome, who was once again a child and obviously crying on his own. She remembered the loneliness she felt when her father almost died when she was a child, the thought of losing someone important to him was devastating to a child's heart and that's what she saw when he looked at Rome. She decided to fight back and tried to go back to where Rome was. She was trying so hard not to be pulled away. And when she reached Rome in that dark and lonely place, she tapped him on the shoulder and Rome looked at the person, but he couldn't recognize who she was. Zy said,

"Take my hand. Everyone is waiting for you. You still have to take me home."

When Rome heard those words, he realized that it was Zy, but he was still confused as to why she was there. How did she get there? Even with all those questions in his head, Rome did not hesitate and immediately took the hand of Zy. When both of their hands touched, a bright light came out of nowhere that made both of them close their eyes. Zy was the first one to open her eyes and she immediately looked at Rome who was still on the ground. Yoko was looking at Zy, who was tending to Rome but still looked worried about him. Yoko asked,

"Are you okay? What happened?"

Zy replied without looking at Yoko,

"I don't know. But I think I got him back."

Yoko was confused by what Zy had said. She asks,

"What do you mean?"

Before Zy could explain to Yoko what she saw and what she did, Rome started to be conscious again. Yoko, Wade and Zy immediately noticed him and tried to help him. Rome looked around and he was a little confused as to what was happening in his surroundings. When he remembered everything, he immediately grabbed the rifle that was on the ground, but as he was about to point it to the other side, he was stopped by Zy. Rome looked at her and it was obvious that she was worried. Zy said,

"You need to stop."

Rome looked at her and said,

"Lucy. What they did to Lucy...."

Zy interrupted Rome by saying,

"I know. But look around you. If you keep this up, you will lose not just Lucy. All of them. Let's leave. For now..."

Rome saw on Zy's face that she was exhausted and could pass out any moment. He also looked at Yoko and Wade and it was obvious that they were also tired. He also saw the others who were trying really hard and obviously already exhausted, fighting back the other side, who were shooting at them. Rome realized that he was being selfish and all he cared about was getting revenge on what happened to Lucy, Tony and Wardo. He looked at Yoko and said,

"Give me your radio."

Yoko was confused by what she heard. Even Wade and Zy were confused by what Rome said. They all thought that Rome would once again start shooting back without thinking, but instead he asked for the radio and seemed to have a plan. Yoko did not question Rome even though she was confused. She immediately removed that earpiece that was on her ear and gave it to him. Rome puts on the earpiece and started talking,

"Em? Where are you?"

When Em heard him, she was startled because she recognized the voice. She replied,

"Wait, what? Rome? Is that you?"

Rome replied,

"Yes. Where are you?"

Em, with composure, immediately replied,

"About 400 meters south of where you are. Why?"

Rome replied,

"You have an extra rifle there that I can use?"

Em smiled and replied,

"I have the Barrett M82 here. Nick won't use it."

Rome replied,

"Get it ready. I'm going there. Wade and Yoko, you two stay here and lead. When I get to where Em and the others are, give me 5 minutes and you move out. We're getting the f**k out of here."

Wade and Yoko, with a smile on their faces, replied,

"Yes boss!"

Rome looked at Zy and Zy was startled when she saw Rome looking at her intensely. Rome said,

"You're coming with me."

Rome and Zy started to move back and Zy was just looking at Rome's back while running. Zy felt a little relieved that Rome came to his senses and decided to leave the desert. Even with all the shooting, Zy felt safe when she was running with Rome. She felt like no one could ever harm her when she was with him. While walking for a few minutes, they arrived at the bottom of what seemed to be a stone hill. Rome started talking,

"Em? Do you see us? Am I walking towards you?"

Em, who was looking at them through her binoculars, replied to Rome,

"Yeah. Just keep walking straight ahead. You'll get here."

They continued to walk but Zy was obviously having a hard time because of the rocks on the way. Rome saw her having a hard time walking, so he held her hand to assist her walking to avoid all those rocks on the way. Zy was startled when Rome held her hand, she felt a tingle in her chest as soon as Rome touched her. She was being dragged by Rome but she never felt harassed by Rome. She immediately came to her senses and immediately swung her hand so that Rome would let go. Rome noticed immediately when Zy swung her hand. He said,

"What's wrong?"

Zy replied,

"I can walk on my own."

Rome replied,

"Make sure you don't slow me down. Yoko and the others are still down there. We need to get out of here fast."

Zy did not respond and just continued to walk in front of Rome even though it was obvious that she was struggling. Rome ignored what he was seeing and just continued to walk towards where Em and the others were. A few minutes of walking, Rome was already in front of Zy, who was still straggling to walk with those rocks on the way. Rome saw Zy fall down because she tripped because of a rock that was on the way. Rome just shook his head and walked back towards Zy. When he arrived and stood in front of Zy who was on the ground, he went on his knees and started grabbing Zy's back and legs. He carried Zy like a bride. Zy was startled when Rome carried her. She said,

"What the hell are you doing?"

Rome replied,

"You're slowing me down. Yoko and the others are still down there. Just shut up and let me carry you so that we can get out of here."

Rome continued to walk at a fast pace even though he was carrying Zy. Zy blushed while being carried by Rome because, while walking, their faces were too near to each other and she started remembering when she kissed Rome earlier. She looked at Rome's face, who was serious and really determined to get to where Em and the others were. She said,

"It's a good thing you decided to leave this place."

Rome replied without looking at her,

"Don't mistake this as a retreat. Once I take you to your father, I will kill all of them. Banks, Crowley. All of them. Just sit tight and let me do my job."

The tingle that Zy felt in her chest earlier was gone because when she looked at Rome's face, she was scared. She was scared because when Rome said those words, she was looking at him and he had a sinister look on his face. Zy was so scared that she couldn't speak a word to respond to Rome. Both of them were quiet while hiking. After a few minutes of hiking while Rome carries Zy, they arrive at where Em, Lia and Nick were. As soon as Em saw Rome, she immediately approached him and said,

"You okay?"

Rome put down Zy he was carrying and replied,

"I'm fine. Is it ready?"

Em smiled and replied,

"It's waiting for you boss."

Em pointed at the Barret M82 rifle that was already set up on the ground. Rome looked at it and said,

"Em you're with me. Nick, Lia? How are we doing?"

Nick was the first to reply and sarcastically said,

"A little busy at the moment. These fuckers are hard to find."

Lia also answered,

"Nick already took down 13 of them. I got 9."

Rome looked at Zy and said,

"You got your gun with you?"

Zy couldn't speak a word because she saw on Rome's face that he was serious. All she did was nod in agreement. Rome added after Zy nodded,

"Make sure no one approaches you. Em, you think you can do the spotting for me while making sure no one gets here?"

Em replied,

"Well, let's leave it to my reflexes."

Rome looked at Em and said with a serious face,

"I'm serious. You think you can handle it?"

Em sarcastically replied,

"Yeah. Yeah. I know. I got it."

Rome got to the ground and started looking through the scope of the rifle and said,

"Okay. Here's the plan. We cover all of them on the ground. Lia, you take out anyone who's in front of them. Nick, you take out anyone who's at the back. I'll take care of anyone Em gives out. Wade, Yoko. You and the rest who are on the ground will start pulling back when you get my signal."

Wade replied via the radio,

"What signal?"

Rome, who was looking through the rifle scope, replied,

"You'll notice it."

Everyone who was on that hill and on the ground who heard Rome simultaneously said,

"Yes boss!"

Em started giving out instructions to Rome as his spotter while looking through her binoculars. Em said,

"I got 3 o'clock, about 400 meters."

As soon as Rome heard those words, a gunshot from his rifle was heard. Em, looking through the binoculars, said,

"Oh s**t!"

Everyone who heard Em through the radio was startled. Wade said,

"What happened? Em? What the f**k happened?

Em replied,

"He took out the whole head. Rome took out the whole head."

Em said those words because the person who Rome shot became headless as soon as the bullet from Rome's rifle hit him. Rome replied to Em,

"Shut up and keep your eyes on the ground."

Em replied,

"Yes boss. Next one at 12 o'clock, about 600 meters."

Rome, once again, shot his gun and took out one of the enemy soldiers. He hit the soldier in the head once again and took out the whole head. Em said,

"Goddamn, that gun is strong. Another 12 o'clock, about 400 meters."

Rome continues to shoot while Em gives him directions on where to shoot. Every time Rome shoots, he hits his target accurately. Nick and Lia stopped for a moment and looked at Rome. Nick said,

"It's a good thing he's on our side."

Lia looked at Nick and smiled while saying,

"Is that how the "best sniper" should talk?"

Nick replied while looking at Rome,

"I never claimed that I was the best. No matter how hard I try, I can never beat that guy. If I shot 15 in the army before, he shoots 25. If I shoot 25, he shoots 50. I never corrected you idiots because I don't wanna embarrass myself."

Wade, who was on the radio, replied,

"You realize all of us can hear you, right?

Everyone who was on the radio slightly laughed. When Rome heard them, he said,

"If your all done talking, you can start moving out now."

Wade replied like he had forgotten,

"Oh s**t. Right. Everyone who hears this starts moving out. We're out of here."

Everyone who was on the ground starts moving out while Rome, Lia and Nick continue to shoot the enemy on the ground. After a few minutes of shooting back and the others who were on the ground moving back, Rome and the rest who were on the hill continued to shoot. Zy was only looking at them and couldn't do anything. Wade said on radio,

"We're almost in the car. Boss? What's the plan?"

Rome replied,

"Em? Do you see him?"

Em, who was looking through her binoculars, replied,

"Give me a minute. That motherfucker is really hard to find."

Rome replied,

"We don't have a minute, Em. You have to find him now."

Everyone who heard Rome on the radio was confused as to who he was looking for. Wade replied,

"Who are you looking for? We have to leave."

Zy replied without thinking.

"Banks."

Everyone who was on that hill beside Rome and Em looked at Zy. Nick says,

"Wait, what? Rome? What the f**k is she talking about?"

Rome and Em kept on looking at the scope of their rifle and binoculars. Rome said,

"f**k! Get ready to move out!"

All of them were quiet when Rome gave those orders, but they still followed what he said. Nick and Lia started to pack their rifles and Rome was obviously pissed about something. Rome stood up and started preparing to leave. Em was still looking through her binoculars and says,

"Boss. I got him. What do you want to do?"

When Rome heard Em, he stopped for a few seconds. Em added,

"Rome. You have to decide now. You can take him out. Right here. Right now."

Rome gets to the ground with his sniper rifle and says,

"Give me the estimate."

Em, while looking through the binoculars, seriously said,

"12 o'clock. Twelve hundred meters. You think you can handle it?"

Rome was quiet while looking through the scope of his rifle. After a few seconds of concentration,

" It's 1.3 kilometers."

Rome was quiet. He was looking through the scope of his sniper rifle. Rome just kept on looking, he was concentrating on the directions that Em gave. The thought of "Am I pointing in the right direction?" "Is it too far?" were not in his mind. He fired three consecutive shots so fast that everyone who saw him was startled. After he fired those three shots, he immediately stood up without talking. Everyone was looking at him and Nicl asked,

"Is it done?"

Rome replied,

"Yes."

Em looked at the distance using her binoculars and said,

"He's alive. Rome, he's alive."

Rome did not react or show any emotions, he just replied,

"I know. If I wanted to kill that motherfucker, I would use my other gun and shoot him in the face. His time will come. Don't worry."

Rome started moving out while holding the rifle he used in his hands without looking or talking to anyone. Everyone was just looking at him as he moved out. Zy, who was looking at Rome, was terrified because she could see in his eyes that this person had a terrifying rage in his heart and he was just suppressing it for the right moment. Rome walked past Zy but still couldn't say anything to him and just stood really still. Rome looked back at Zy and said,

"Let's go."

Zy did not respond because she was too scared of Rome, she just followed what he said and started walking. Em looked through her binoculars and jokingly said,

"Yeah. You didn't kill him, but you surely took out his legs and one of his arms."

Rome replied,

"Are you satisfied with that for now?"

Em seriously replied,

"As long as you promise to kill him the next time you see him, right?"

Rome looked at Em with a sinister look on his face and said,

"That's all I can think of right now. He will die for what he did to Lucy."

Em replied,

"As long as we understand each other. If you're not doing it, I'm done with this team."

Nick, who heard it, replied,

"That's not a good joke, Em, and you know that."

Em smiled at Nick and said,

"It's funny that you think it's a joke. What he did to Lucy was unforgivable and if none of you do anything about it, I'm done."

Rome stopped walking and looked at Em with a serious face. He started walking towards Em and she was a little scared of Rome. He kissed Em on the cheeks and said,

"Don't worry. I'll kill him the next time he's in front of me. But the next time you talk like I don't give a s**t what happened to Lucy, Tony and Wardo, I will make sure that you will be in the ground together with that motherfucker."

Rome kissed Em on the cheeks again and started walking out. Everyone heard Rome even though he whispered it to her. Em was quiet at first but she smiled and slowly shook her head and said,

"As long as you have a plan, boss. I got your back."

Rome replied without looking at Em,

"I know."

They all moved out of that area so really fast that the other side did not notice them being gone. The other side were also busy tending to agent Banks who was badly wounded from the gunshots he got from Rome. Exactly what Em said happened to agent Banks. Both of his legs were gone and one of his arms was ripped off because of the powerful rifle Rome used. Unfortunately, the evil man who killed Lucy was still alive. Even without 3 of his limbs and blood continued to pour out, he was alive and conscious. He said, smiling while being tended by his subordinates,

"He's terrifying when he's rational but weak and easy to kill when it comes to his people. Now we know his weakness. We will kill them all. One by one."

Banks was carried by his subordinates because he lost 3 of his limbs, but even though he lost a few of his limbs he had a smile on his face. A smile like he was so sure of himself. Agent Banks added,

"Bring me to Crowley. We can track them again. I need to heal first"

Banks and his subordinates started moving out in retreat but there was no sign of defeat on their part. It seems that these people are used to people in their group dying. While Rome's group were obviously exhausted from what happened. They started driving away from the desert without talking to anyone. After a few minutes of driving, they arrive back at the house of Rome and his late wife. All of them were exhausted to the point that none of them were talking to each other. Rome said,

"You all have 15 hours to rest and then we start moving again. Em, you and your men should go. Leave the cars and guns."

Rome started moving away to the back of the house. All of them who heard Rome were quiet because of shock. To them, it seemed that Rome was not exhausted. Yoko immediately followed Rome to where he went. Yoko arrived at the shed where Rome was sitting on his own. Yoko asked,

"Boss? Everything okay?"

Yoko then sat beside Rome. He replied without looking at her.

"I will leave everything in your name after this. This house is yours. Don't give it to anyone."
