Chapter 2

She looked at the team leader as she was questioned about her identity and said,

"Didn't you look for any information about someone who you're about to save? I'm a doctor from the World Health Organization who also happens to be a daughter of some wealthy guy. Maybe that guy is just some kidnaper who wants money from my father. Just get me to safety or bring me to my father and I will make sure that you will be rewarded."

The team leader looked at her with doubt and said,

"I don't give a s**t if you are loaded. I am not taking you anywhere else, my mission is to rescue you from that shithole and bring you to camp. That's it! But if you are not telling me anything that might endanger me or my unit, I will make sure that you, your father or the asshole who requested this job will suffer from a slow, agonizing death. You understand?"

Zy furiously looks at the team leader and says,

"Are you threatening me? You think I'm scared of you?"

The team leader looks back at her and says,

"You think I'm only trying to scare you?"

They looked at each other like they were about to start to brawl with their bare hands and Yoko immediately gets in the middle of them and says,

"Okay kids, that's enough. What was your name again?"

Zy replied.

"It's Zy, Zy Angela Tan."

Yoko asked her fellow soldier.

"Miggy, Can you run it for me please?"

The soldier who had the small laptop replied,

"On it. And here we go. Zy Angela Tan, 29 years old, daughter of Chinese Billionaire Tan Yuanchun, also known as Anthony Tan and Australian College Professor Elizabeth Angela Harris. She graduated from college at 19 and finished med school at 23. She started working at WHO after her 3-year residency. WOW! It only took 3 years of residency to become a surgeon, you really are a genius. Check out what she says, boss"

Miggy looks at the team leader after reading from his small laptop. The team leader looks at Zy with sharp eyes and says

"I still don't trust this bit-"

Yoko interrupts the leader with what he's about to say because she knew it would start for them to bicker again.

"Okay! We're here! Let's prep for landing and, boss, why don't we discuss this with the team?"

The team leader is still looking at Zy and Zy also looks at the team leader with piercing eyes like she never intends to back down from a fight with him.

"Yoko, bring her with you. Don't let her interact with those i***t soldiers. We haven't received the payment yet. And maybe she can help you with Snail. Lia and Tanya go with them. Wade, Wardo and Nick secure the equipment, don't let them touch any of it. Miggy and Tony, you 2, secure the kids make sure they cleared with the medics here first before giving them back to the Afghan government. We will meet in the tent in an hour."

says the team leader, as the helicopter is landing while still looking at Zy with piercing eyes. Everyone replies "Yes boss!".

As the helicopter landed, the team leader was the first one to get out of the helicopter and walk towards the soldiers in the camp. While trying to get out, Zy says "d**k!" while looking at the back of the team leader. She looks at Yoko and asks,

"Wait, why do you call him "boss"? and this "job"?, "payment"? What kind of government army are you?"

Wade replied with a smile while unloading their equipment, "Who said we're from the government military?" and Zy replied confused. "WHAT????" Miggy and Nick help Yoko move the gurney with Snail on it in front of Zy and Yoko tells her "I will explain everything, just come with me." Zy agrees with Yoko and helps her push the gurney to the clinic with Lia and Tanya walks beside them.

The team leader was walking towards the soldiers and asked them "Where's Hughes?" The soldiers did not answer him and just looked at him with disgust. He then walks towards a young soldier who's obviously on his first tour in the middle east and looks at him with piercing eyes and asks "Where's Hughes?" The young soldier, who is obviously afraid, answers "If you're talking about Colonel Hughes,, He's in his DRASH. Last one at back." The team leader then walks away and heads directly to the colonel's tent or his DRASH but as he walk away, he hears one of the soldier yells "f*****g freak!" but he just ignored it and in deep in his thoughts, he is thankful that his troop is not here to hear it. He then enters the colonel's tent. There he sees the colonel and one of his captains. As he enters, the captain yells.

"Hey, did the academy ever teach you any manners when you enter an officer's DRASH?"

The captain walks towards the team leader as he yells and looks down on the much smaller team leader.

."I lost all my manners when p*****s like you started getting promoted".

The team leader replied as he also looked at the much bigger captain but he did not intend to back down and was ready for a fight,

"The f**k -"

The captain replies and prepares for a fight, but the colonel interrupts him.

"Enough! Captain, can you step outside for a moment?"

The captain replied,

"Sir, Yes sir!"

The captain then saluted the colonel and headed outside. The colonel tells the team leader with contempt,

"I can't believe they went to you for this job when there are other capable people doing this. He could've gone to us or even the CIA but he used freaks like you and your band of misfits."

The team leader replied with a grin on his face.

"I guess he knew that idiots like you or the CIA can't get the job done like me and my band of misfits."

The embarrassed colonel asks him

"Why are you here? What do you want?"

The team leader replied,

"We have the package, I'm here to get my payment so I can get the f**k out of this shithole."

The colonel slightly laughed and answered,

"Payment? The contract says 'rescue the package, get her to camp and await further instructions'. Did your country not teach you how to read English? So get the f**k out of my tent. He told me to let you use one of the DRASH's here in camp but he never told me what kind of DRASH to let you use, so enjoy your stay."

The team leader looks at the colonel with a grin on his face and says,

"I will wait for these instructions but I will get my payment. But, if you think giving me and my unit shitty tents will make us miserable, I guess the reason why this camp has a lot of p***y-ass soldiers is because their colonel is the biggest p***y of them all who gets all riled up because of having a grand Barbie castle."

The team leader starts walking away but as he heads outside the tent, the colonel tells him in an aggressive and racist manner,

"You better be careful who you talk to here, you motherfucker. I can drop you and your illegal friends right here right now!"

The team leader turns back and walks towards the colonel and whispers in his ears,

"Are you sure your up for it? You know what me and my team can do right? Either you kill all of us here right now or all of you will be found here in this camp in the morning without your faces."

The team leader looks at him with eyes like a serial killer who enjoys killing every single day. The team leader starts walking away. As he walks away, the colonel is just standing very still and scared for his life while looking at the back of the team leader. He never felt this fear for his own life to end when he had been in countless battle in this war against the insurgents or in any other war against terrorist, but with those simple words that was said by a young mercenary, he was trembling with fear. As the team leader was about to exit the tent, he looked back momentarily and said "

By the way, I was born in the Bronx. You ignorant f**k!"

As the team leader exited the tent, Wade and Nick were waiting for him outside. Wade asked the team leader.

"Boss, we secured all of the equipment. Wardo is guarding them. The kids are fine, they have bruises but they will be fine. Miggy and Tony are finishing handing them over to the government and Yoko is finishing up Snail's surgery. They remove 3 bullets in his chest and legs, but the i***t will live. How's the meeting? Did you get the payment?"

The team leader replied,

"There's no payment. He said we needed to wait for further orders before we got paid. Where's Lia? Tell her to look over the contract again. They said that this "further orders" bullshit was in the contract. Have her look it over again."

Wade answers,

"Yes, boss".

As Wade was about to walk away to look for Lia, he could hear someone yelling,

"Augustus Michael Romero! The f*****g Jester!".

He stopped and he and Wardo quickly pulled their sidearm and pointed it to the person who yelled those words.

"Give it to me boss, I can drop him."

Nick asks the team leader to give him the order to kill while pointing the gun at the soldier who yelled. The moment these two pulled their guns, a swarm of soldiers started pointing at them their assault rifles and one of them out yells,

"Drop it or I swear to god you will not see sunshine again!".

It was like a Mexican standoff but the only difference is that 2 hand guns were pointing to 1 soldier while more than 15 soldiers were pointing at the 3 of them.

Yoko and Zy had just finished removing all the bullets from Snail's. While finishing stitching a snail up, they heard a commotion outside. Yoko asks Lia,

"Lia, what's wrong?" Lia replied, "I don't know, but let's go there. They might need a medic. Tanya, you stay here with Snail."

Yoko removes her surgical gloves and grabs her assault rifle and tells Zy,

"You need to come with me."

But before all the commotion, before they started the operation to remove the bullets from Snail's body, they had just arrived at the tent clinic and about to start the surgery. Zy asks Yoko,

"Okay, we're here. You promised to tell me everything."

Yoko replied,

"Well, I can't tell you everything right at this moment because I still need to remove all the bullets from his body. If you agree to help me in this surgery, I can tell while doing the operation."

Lia interrupts them by saying,

"Are you sure you wanna tell her?"

Yoko replied,

"Well, it's not a secret. We should at least tell her something about the one who saved her. Don't worry, I'll talk to Rome about it."

Lia replied in a sarcastic manner,

"Okay, It's your call."

Zy interrupts them and asks,

"Wait, who's Rome? And is it gonna be a problem if you tell me?"

Yoko just smiled and looked at her while saying,

"No, don't worry. And Rome is the one who saved you. He's the one we call "Boss". We are not from the army. We are a contract unit for covert ops. I guess you could call us "Mercenaries". A United States Department hired us to rescue a certain person of importance from an Insurgent secret base for a certain amount. We accepted and here you are."

Zy just looked at her in shock and said,

"Wait, so you tell me that my father asked the US to rescue me but that they sent a bunch of hired killers instead of their own army?"

Yoko slightly laughs and says, "

We are not "hired killers". We also accept rescue missions like you. Well, most of the requests we receive are extermination but we only kill those who deserve death. Don't let our boss hear you say that we are hired killers."

Zy replies with a wrinkle on her forehead.

"I don't care if that d**k hears me."

Yoko slightly laughs while operating and says,

"Wow, you really hate him, don't you?"

Zy replied,

"Yeah, What's with that guy anyway? And why do you call him boss?"

Yoko just smiled and said,

"Just give him a chance, you will see he's a good guy. The one you call a "d**k" is Augustus Michael Rome. We call him "Boss" during operations because he's our leader and also our employer. Well, we just decided to call him boss on our own because he is our savior. He helped us get through with our s**t and welcomed us like his own family. He hated the idea of being called "boss" and he kept on insisting just to call him "Rome", so we all agreed to just call him "Boss" during operations and "Rome" when we're at home."

Zy replied in a confused manner by asking,

"Home? All of you lived together?"

Yoko smiles while answering,

"Yeah, we all live together. That's why I said he is our savior. As you can see, we all have different nationalities. Most of us were orphans who decided to be part of the army but have no one else to go home to. We met him and decided to just follow him. Now we're here."

Zy gets more confused and asks,

"Wait, so you just met him, followed him and decided to just make him your boss? There are 9 of you. There's even a guy much bigger than him. How did you decide to just make him your boss?"

Yoko just laughed and replied,

"Who? Wade? He is scared of Rome the most. I guess among all of us he respects Rome the most. There's a lot of things about him and us that I can't tell you. But one thing is for sure; among all 9 of us here or even all the people in this camp, none of us can beat Rome in a fight. HAHA."

Zy asks,

"What do you mean?"

Yoko explains to her,

"Well, a lot of people have natural talent. Like you, you have a natural talent for surgery and handling surgical tools. Doctors your age are supposed to be in residency but here you are already a consultant and even a doctor from WHO. Just like what Miggy said, you're a genius. That's the same for him, but he is a genius at fighting and proficient at all weapons. Well, anything he touches is a weapon. That's why a lot of people in the US army hate him. He's an American soldier who quit to become a Mercenary. For them, he's wasted talent."

Zy asks,

"Why did he quit?"

Yoko changes the subject to dodge the question,

"Well, we're done. I'll tell you about it next time. For now, we will stitch him up."

Zy starts stitching the gunshot wounds and asks,

"How about you?"

Yoko replied,

"What about me?"

Zy asks,

"How did you end up following and calling him boss? Are you married?"

Yoko replied while laughing,

"HA! Me? Married? No! I will only get married if Rome asks me to marry him."

Zy was shocked because she couldn't believe that this beautiful lady in front of her had just admitted that she wanted to get married to someone who was an asshole. Then Yoko continues to talk,

"As you can see, I'm Asian. I'm half Japanese half British. My mother is British, while my dad, who I did not meet, is Japanese. My mom died when I was 16 and I have no other relatives so I decided to get into the British military to become a surgeon. The only family I have ever known after my mom died were my Army buddies, but they all died in an ambush during my tour in IRAQ. I was wounded and my feet almost got amputated. I was brought to a US military camp in Baghdad, that's where I met Rome, Nick, Wade. Rome took care of me even though he didn't know me. At first, I thought he was only doing that so he could sleep with me after I get better. But no, he was sincere and he really wanted me to be better. He always visits me, asks if I'm okay, and after I get better he is gone. That's when I fell for him. I looked for him and they told me that he had gone home. I was discharged and I went to the US to look for him. I found him and told him that I was in love with him and asked him to marry me. HAHA! He refused and asked if I wanted to be a part of his team. I agreed and now here I am. The team's only medic, but I'm hoping that he asks me to marry him in the future."

Zy looks at her in shock because, in her mind, a lady this beautiful would go to those lengths just to tell someone to marry her and tell him that she loves him. After that conversation, while finishing up the stitches, they heard a commotion outside. Yoko asks Lia,

"Lia, what's wrong?"

Lia replied,

"I don't know, but let's go there. They might need a medic. Tanya, you stay here with Snail"

Yoko removes her surgical gloves and grabs her assault rifle and tells Zy,

"You need to come with me."

Zy, Yoko and Lia run towards the commotion and see a number of soldiers pointing their rifles towards Rome, Wade and Nick. The 2 of them immediately pointed their rifles towards the soldiers and, at the same time, Wardo, Tony and Miggy also arrive at the scene and immediately point their rifles towards the soldiers. Lia asks,

"Boss? What's going on?"

Rome was quiet and only looking at the soldier who yelled his name. Wade talks,

"The shithead in the middle called him-"

Rome interrupts Wade while looking at the smug face of the soldier who yelled his name by saying "Stop." The soldier with a smug face starts talking by saying,

"Why stop them? We can start this party right here, right now. Or maybe you're too much of a p***y and your scared."

Lia was offended by what the soldier had said and is about to shoot the soldier in the face, but Rome sees through it and immediately stops her. "Lia." Lia drops her rifle and apologized to Rome. "Sorry boss, It won't happen again." Rome was still looking at the smug face of the soldier and tells him,

"You're lucky. You were about to have a hole in your face."

The soldier hears this and just laughs and says,

"Bullshit, you think you and your fairy ass troops could kill me?".

As he was done talking, Colonel Hughes arrives at the commotion and tells them,

"What the f**k is going on here???"

The soldier who yelled along with the other soldiers pointing their rifles at Rome and his team sees the colonel and immediately stands at attention and salutes him.

"Sir, we are just giving our guests a little welcome party sir. Well, actually sir, we are just telling them that we don't want freaks in this camp sir."

The Colonel looks at the soldier and tells him,

"Well, do you think I did not do that myself? Why do you think I gave them the shittiest DRASH we have here in this camp? I hate these fuckers as much as you, Sergeant, but they are guests from higher ups and we have direct orders to give them shelter until they receive further orders.

The colonel was looking at Rome with a smug face.

Why don't you do it any other way instead of setting hell fire in this camp? Unless the Special Forces Weapons Sergeant is right and you and your troop of illegals are p***y ass scared?"

The Special Forces Sergeant starts talking by saying with an ugly smug look on his face,

"So? How's it gonna be? JESTER!?"

Rome and his team were furious with what he said and called, but Rome just controlled his anger, looked away and said.

"We're done here".

His team follows him and walks away, but as he walks away, the Special Forces Sergeant is still talking and says,

"I knew you were a p***y, I was gonna take those 4 bitches from your team as my trophy and play with them in my tent tonight. Especially that Asian b***h with you there right now."

Rome looks back at the The Special Forces Sergeant with an enraged look on his face that everyone can see and says

"I want an arm and 10 fingers."

The Special Forces Sergeant was confused but still smug and asked,

"What?"

Rome replied,

"You wanna do this? If I win, I want your arm and your ten fingers."

The Special Forces Sergeant shows a more maniacal smug face and shows his middle finger and says,

"You mean this finger? You got a deal. But if I win, I get those bitches."

Rome walks away and says

"Don't worry, you won't have a finger to lay on them. 10 minutes on this ground."

Rome walks away to prepare for his barehand duel.

As Rome removes his side arm and his .500 Magnum revolver and his combat knife, Wade asks him.

"Want me to take him?"

Rome replies

"No, He's mine."

Zy can clearly see the enraged look on Rome's face and she wonders deep in her thoughts.

"This guy was not fazed when that asshole soldier insulted him directly in his face, but when he insulted his female friends he got enraged. I really don't get this guy."

As Rome was about to finish removing unnecessary things from him for his fight, he looks at Lia and says

"Lia, I told you, you need to get that anger in check."

Lia replied,

"Sorry boss, it won't happen again."

Rome replied,

"Don't worry, it's fine."

Miggy talks loudly and says,

"I got something, that asshole is Special Forces Weapons Sergeant Kevin Rittenhouse. He's in special forces for 5 years now, proficient in assault rifle and combat knife. He's got all the awards a soldier could ask for: service cross, silver star and medal of honor. He doesn't have a purple heart because it says here that he was never wounded in any battle. His kill count is 375 in Iraq and 326 and counting here in Afghanistan. They call him the "The Terminator" HAHA!".

Miggy laughs while saying what people call the Special Forces Sergeant. Zy is worried and says,

"Wait, you heard all of that and you let him fight that guy?"

Yoko grabs her and tells her,

"It's fine. We can't stop him anyway."

Miggy also says,

"Oh and by the way, that guy is a white supremacist."

Zy looks at Miggy and says,

"How did you get that kind of information???"

Miggy replied,

"I just do what I do."

They start preparing to walk towards their fighting grounds and Wade says

"Be prepared for anything. Miggy? You set it up, right?"

Miggy enthusiastically replied,

"Yes, sir."

Yoko tells Zy,

"Just stay behind me. Okay?"

Zy nods in agreement. They arrive at the ground and the Special Forces Sergeant is waiting shirtless and says,

"What took you so long, princess?"

Rome looks at him and also looks at the colonel and says,

"Let's go over it again. I win, I get an arm and 10 fingers. If anyone objects and does something funny, we will blow up this whole camp. We planted 36 C4 bombs around this whole camp. You can have your bomb squad check it. One of my men sent you the exact location of those bombs. Only me and my team can disarm those bombs and we plan to do it after our mission. That means if you do something moronic after I beat the s**t out of him, we will blow this camp along with all of you to kingdom come."

The colonel and the sergeant were stunned by what they heard and one of the bomb squad soldiers told the colonel that what he said was true. The colonel looks at him and says angrily,

"You son of a b***h, your willing to endanger your own allies?"

Rome replies,

"Who said you're my ally? You will be the witness in this scrimmage and you're the one who authorized it."

Rome looks at the sergeant and says,

"Is this information gonna bother you in this scrimmage?"

The Special Forces Weapons Sergeant just looks at him with a smug smile on his face and says

"I don't give a s**t about what you did or what your about to do. As long as we have an understanding that if I win, those bitches are mine."

The Special Forces Weapons Sergeant looks maniacally at Yoko and says,

"You and I are not sleeping tonight."

Yoko and the rest of the team just shake their heads with guilt. Zy was confused because the team was very confident about what was about to happen. She could hear Nick saying while shaking his head.

"You just have to open your mouth, don't you?"

As Rome and the Special Forces Weapons Sergeant get to the middle of the ground, the Special Forces Weapons Sergeant immediately rushes to Rome and tries to tackle him and take him down, but Rome sees right through it and evades and while he evades, he slaps the back of the head of the Sergeant. The Sergeant tries to do the same move, but Rome once again evades and does the same thing, slapping him on the back of his head. The Sergeant gets enraged by this because he thinks that this mercenary was playing with him, so for a third time, he rushes to tackle him. Rome tries to evade it, but instead of tackling him, the Sergeant grabs his hand to evade. The Sergeant is a black belt judo master. Rome realized this with the grip on his wrist by the Sergeant. He twisted Rome's wrist and Rome was stunned. As the Sergeant twisted his wrist, he was already on his knees. The Sergeant was smiling and was about to punch Rome while on his knees, but Rome blocks the punch using his other hand. The Sergeant was stunned because the mercenary in front of him was now on his feet and he was the one who was on his knees. He sees his hand that was supposed to grab Rome's wrist is now being held by Rome in his palm and upon seeing this, he realizes that it hurts and that's the reason why he can't move and now on his knees. He realizes that this person in front of him is also a judo master like him. Maybe even better. He was looking into his eyes and he could see death. He encountered countless battles in the war in the Middle East, but this is the first time he ever felt death holding one of his hands. He tried to yell to surrender but he was knocked unconscious before he could speak. He wakes up screaming because nine of his fingers had been broken already by Rome. For a moment, he questions what happened and remembers. When he was about to scream to surrender, Rome punched him in his philtrum (the vertical groove between the base of the nose and the border of the upper lip.) so hard and so fast that he did not have any chance to react. He just fell unconscious. Rome broke the last finger on his right hand and he screamed in pain while his nose and his mouth were pouring with too much blood. He was screaming for help and looked at his fellow soldiers and the colonel. They were just watching as he was in pain. He could hear Rome talking to him,

"All the fingers are done. Now for the last part of the agreement."

Rome grabs his hand and looks at the colonel and says,

"I told you, I always get my payment."

Then broke the Sergeant arm. The Sergeant was screaming like a baby because of the pain. One of the soldiers tried to grab his gun but Nick saw him and immediately pointed his rifle at the soldier and said,

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

The colonel stands up and says,

"We're done here. Help him up and bring him to the infirmary immediately."

The colonel walks away and tells his soldiers,

"Leave them alone."

The Soldier helps their Sergeant and leaves. Zy who was watching this realized that what Yoko said about this guy was true. Rome walked past her and she felt a cold breeze. She realized something. Deep in her thoughts, she is saying.

"He is strong. Maybe this guy can help me. Maybe he's the one that can stop them. Maybe he's the one who can save me. Should I tell him my secret?"

She stopped her questions in her mind when she heard Yoko saying

"Zy, let's go. We're going back to our tent.".

She started walking and headed for their tent.
