The Magical Forest

289 Words
When the light faded, Mia and Leo found themselves in the middle of a lush, enchanted forest. Towering trees with glowing leaves surrounded them, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers. “Where... are we?” Mia whispered. “I think we’re in Arvorean,” Leo said, pointing to a sign nearby. It was carved into a tree trunk and read: Welcome to the Kingdom of Arvorean. “Okay, so the book wasn’t kidding,” Mia said, taking a deep breath to steady herself. As they looked around, a rustling sound caught their attention. From behind a bush emerged a small fox with bright orange fur and curious eyes. “Visitors? In Arvorean? How unusual!” the fox said, sitting down and wrapping its bushy tail around its paws. Leo jumped back in surprise. “Did that fox just talk?” “I most certainly did,” the fox replied, tilting its head. “The name’s Finn. And who might you be?” “I’m Mia, and this is my brother, Leo,” Mia said, still trying to process what was happening. “Well, Mia and Leo, you’ve come at a rather tricky time,” Finn said. “The kingdom’s in a bit of a pickle, you see. The Crystal of Balance has gone missing, and without it, everything here is falling apart.” “That’s what the book said!” Leo exclaimed. “Ah, you’ve got the book,” Finn said, nodding knowingly. “That means you’re the chosen ones.” “Chosen for what?” Mia asked, crossing her arms. “To find the crystal and save Arvorean, of course,” Finn said matter-of-factly. “Follow me. There’s no time to waste.”
