19 George furiously polished the bonnet of one of the cars out in the yard. His guts were twisting in knots as he considered how to ask Bridges for some time off. His manager had to know the request was coming but he wasn’t making things easy. Bridges hadn’t mentioned the flight at all. George actually wondered if he might be better off resigning altogether.
