ASTRA
“My father is ruthless. He will devour anything he can’t control.”
Kaiden’s words kept echoing in my mind, uninvited, and refused to leave me alone.
Everything I knew about Draven speaks of danger. A reason for me to simply be cordial with him, with no real attachment, and then forget about him after the wedding. That should have been the end of it…
So why am I in his bed? And why am I moaning to his touch?
“My son hurt you beyond forgiveness.” Draven’s voice snapped me back to reality as he inched dangerously close to me. “What do you want to do now?” He whispered in my ear.
“I don’t want to remember.” I muttered, almost pleading.
Draven paused, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, he brushed his fingers on my chin, slowly tilting my head so he could see my face. His eyes gleamed with intent.
“Then let me give you something else to feel,” he murmured, flashing an amused grin. There was no pity in his tone. No questions and no mention of the man I was trying to forget. Only the confidence of someone who knew exactly what he was offering.
He dipped lower, trailing kisses to my jaw down to my neck. Draven took his time and eventually reached the spot where a mate mark should have been resting. He nipped lightly, just enough for me to let out a sharp gasp.
I clamped a hand over my mouth, mortified at my body’s reaction to his movements. He caught my wrist and gently pulled my hand away, pinning it beside my head.
“Don’t hide from me,” he ordered.
“I’m not…” I trailed off, not knowing what to say. The words I say don’t match my reactions, and good Goddess help me, I’m slowly losing all reasons to resist him.
“Tell me to stop and I would,” he paused, growling lowly, “or you can tell me to keep going and I will make sure you forget everything else for tonight.”
Alpha Draven was many things. He’s intense, more experienced, and intimidatingly sure of himself. Gentle was not a word I ever expected to associate with him. Yet in this moment, I could feel his restraint.
He wasn’t assuring me either, but making a promise.
A night of sin and desire.
“Please…”
“Say it clearly.” His voice deepened, giving me a hungry look. “Tell me you want, Astra and I will give it to you.”
My fingers curled into the sheets, desperate and ashamed and hungry all at once. “I want you to keep going. I want to forget about everything else. Please, Alpha.”
“Good,” he whispered against my mouth. “Because I’ve been holding back.”
Heat bloomed across my cheeks as he took my confirmation as his cue. His lips crashed on mine, and this time, he was no longer holding back. My body arched instinctively. His hands roamed everywhere, tracing every curve, and the more he does, the more the little restraint I had disperses.
His hand ventured at the hem of my top, pushing it up and taking his time removing my garment until my breasts are exposed before the alpha.
“So f*****g beautiful.”
Heat crawled between my legs after seeing hunger in his eyes. Without warning, he brought one of my mounds in his mouth, sucking my n*****s while reaching the other and skillfully playing with it, too.
“A-Alpha,” I cried out, closing my eyes while fighting back the urge to scream his name.
I shouldn’t be reacting to Draven like this for so many reasons, but I couldn’t stop myself from wanting more. His presence consumes me. Everything Kaiden had ever told me about his father became noise in the back of my mind.
He’s ruthless.
He’s cruel.
He’ll devour you.
“f**k,” I cursed out when his tongue reached my core.
He’s devouring me, alright.
Draven gave a slight chuckle, “I didn’t expect you’d have a naughty mouth.”
“S-sorry.” I closed my eyes, feeling embarrassment hit me in waves.
He lifted his gaze, though his tongue was replaced with his fingers. “Don’t apologize. I want to hear everything. Curse, call out my name, scream. I do not mind.”
I gasped when he entered a finger; his eyes focused on my reaction, only making it more intense. He thrust slowly at first, then added another one before it became a delicious torture. He speeds up, letting my body build tension, then slows down again.
“Please…” I trailed off, my nails digging on his skin as he continued. The wet sounds it makes every time he moves make my body heat up even more.
“Already shaking,” he whispered, thumb brushing on my c**t, “And I’ve barely touched you.”
My heart jumped in my throat, “Y-you’re doing this on purpose…”
“Of course,” he said, leaning closer until his lips brushed my ear. “I want to see how you come undone, until you’re begging for more. You’re mine now, Astra. All mine.”
His possessive words sent me on edge, and Draven’s movements have only become wilder in response.
“I’m… Ah!”
My mind blanked out for a good second, eyes rolling along with the release I’ve never felt this intense before.
I haven’t even recovered yet when I felt him going down on me, lapping on my orgasm and sending me into another chaos. By the time he went back up, I was already a trembling mess.
“So f*****g delicious.” He said while licking his lips like a predator savoring his prey.
He claimed my lips once again, startling me a bit. I could taste myself, and if it wasn’t enough, I could feel his hardness grinding on me.
Before I knew it, my arms already clung to his neck, deepening our kiss willingly.
“Please, I can’t take it anymore.” I pleaded, but he continued teasing me. His hands now lay on my bare chest, playing with my n*****s again.
I swallowed heavily, knowing precisely what he wanted to happen and what he wanted me to admit. “I… I want you to keep going. I want you, Alpha Draven.”
A wicked smile brushed across his lips. “Good girl.”
I shouldn’t be doing this. Not with the man Kaiden feared most. Not with the alpha I was never meant to touch and definitely not with the father of the mate I had just severed.
But no matter how much I push that narrative in my mind, I already knew that what was already done is done. My mate’s betrayal ruined me, and right now, Draven is the only one keeping me together… making me feel something other than heartbreak.
“More… please more.” I pleaded breathlessly, my legs wrapped around his waist, meeting his rough thrusts as if my life depended on it,
He lifted me, flipping our positions till I’m on top of him. “If you want more, work for it.”
Draven’s hands were steady on my waist. His touch was nothing like Kaiden’s touch. He was rough, dangerous, and oozing with possessiveness and control. But I couldn’t help but crave it.
I held him, stroking him before I positioned myself. It earned a growl from Draven, looking at me like he wanted to take the lead and continue roughing me up, but instead, he let me move at my own pace.
I slowly pushed myself down on him, gasping halfway, but didn’t stop until his whole length was inside me once again.
He held me securely, guiding me as I moved and rode him in a sinful drive. We both moved with intent, chasing and craving each other’s release like hungry animals in heat.
--
The moon was still up when I opened my eyes.
I woke up thinking I would regret what I did, but seeing Alpha Draven asleep by my side only saddens me. The pain from heartbreak is now mixed with the strange feeling of longing.
My heart felt like a void fresh from the severed bond, and what I did with Draven might be a temporary relief from it, but it also sparked something in me. Something I know wouldn’t be reciprocated no matter what. Something I want to believe is just me, confused because of everything I’ve been through.
I carefully gathered my clothes, trying to be as quiet as I could. My body felt sore, but I pushed myself to move so I could leave. This was just a mistake I shouldn’t prolong. I doubt Alpha Draven would flick a gaze towards me after tonight, anyway.
“Where are you going?”
My heart jumped to my throat when Draven suddenly grabbed my hand before I could step away from the bed after dressing myself.
I lowered my gaze, pushing formality between us. “I apologize for waking you up. I’m just about to leave. I didn’t want to bother you any further.”
Draven didn’t let go of my hand. Instead, he looked at me intently. “Marry me, Astra.”
“W-what?” I stuttered, feeling like I’d heard everything wrong.
“You heard me. I doubt you still want to stay here after what he had done. So, marry me instead of my son. You’ll be out of this place before the sun rises.”
I swallowed hard. A choice, and a way out. An opportunity I know I wouldn’t get again if I let this one slip.
After a short moment of contemplation, I lifted my head and met his gaze. “I’ll marry you. Anything to get me out of this pack.”
