Chapter 11: Wedding Confessions

I was dressed in my best, excited to be mated and marked by Davina; the Elves were catering to her as is tradition, but it would also be a private affair with Emile, Levi, and Jared in attendance, along with my family and her sister. We wanted to keep it small and private for now, as it was a secret; my mother and Levi would hold off on their mating as their union would be a state affair. Addison places Davina on some magical birth control because we can't afford for her to get pregnant yet, and I wouldn't have to worry about pulling out of her, which can be exciting or hard depending on the mood. I was still shocked that Davina turned out to be my fated mate, but I was completely in love with her, even before the bond. I was so scared that I would have lost her, and I was grateful to Ty for saving her life; she would not die so easily once she wore my mark, and in a way, she would be protected more.

He said, "Good thing she didn't die because I wouldn't have been able to bring her back," and I was more than grateful. I was at the private altar by the Gazebo where only we were waiting, and I watched her walk down the aisle with a tiara made specifically for her; she became a Princess once we were finished married and mated. The private affair was intimate between us as we danced together by the small pond; everyone was happy, and my mother shed a tear seeing me finally mated. They all loved Davina, and Sapphire was running around on Clarke's back as he was in bear form, and she loved it. I hated Barbie, but she kept Clarke happy, so we let her be; however, she was not allowed at the wedding for security reasons.

My parents were happy; Aidan placed a spell on Clark and Sapphire so that they would forget this moment once they left here, until the law was changed for security reasons. Davina looked at me and said, "I would have tried to save you a thousand times over; I love you so much, Marrow," and she was the only one who called me that, and calmed the beast within. I kissed her and said, "Thank you, but don't ever do that again," and we both giggled. I was going to mark her later on our miniature honeymoon; Emile gave us private quarters in the Palace, as we would spend the entire week there. However, I was going to make sure that whoever did this, whoever was hired to kill me, died a painful death, whether it was by my hand, my father's hand, or the Supremes.

I looked into the mirror as I fixed my tie; Polly was behind me putting the dress on as it was time to see Rowe get married. Polly was so beautiful, and we would be married soon; even my brothers couldn't wait to have her in the family. The wedding was going to be intimate with family and a few close friends, and I held Polly's hand as we headed down to the garden where it was held. We watched as Rowe and Davina pledged their love to each other, and I looked at Polly, who was happy for her son; I could feel it through her temporary mark. I loved and respected Rowe because of who he is, and after the vows were complete, we cheered; Polly tiptoed, kissing my lips and said, "Thank you for going through this with me." Mendai looked on from a distance and smiled, nodding for me to join him; I excused myself as I saw Rowe walk over to Barron and Clarke.

Mendai was waiting for me by a corridor with Jared and Emile; Emile said, "We have to talk; Askia had filed a complaint to the royal court last year, I kept it from you, guys, but now the verdict is in." I sighed and rubbed my forehead as Jared looked at the happy wedding guest and, without skipping a beat, said, "Pay her what she is asking for." Mendai said, "If we pay her, we would be admitting guilt, and we did not do what she said." I leaned against the pillar and asked, "How much is she asking for?" Emile handed me the file; I looked at it; I shook my head in disbelief, and folded my fists as Jared took it and looked at it. He smiled nervously and said, "She is punishing me for what happened that night." Then he turned to us, hurt in his eyes, and said, "Give her what she wants," before walking off, and I looked at Mendai and said, "We got you caught up in this; I'm sorry," and he patted my back, saying, "No worries."

I felt how hurt Jared was through our twin bond, but Askia kept at the issue no matter how we tried to explain what happened that night, wanting us on a registry for assaulters. Emile said, "I will sing off on this," and mind-linked Jared and said, "You are suspended for two years as part of the deal," and he blocked us. I looked at Emile and said, "You and Mendai are on probation for six months; don't f**k up again," and he went back to the wedding party. Polly walked up to me with two glasses of champagne, giving me one and asking, "What was that about?" I said, "I need to tell you something," and I held her hand, taking her back to my room; she smiled and asked, "Is this your way of getting me in bed earlier than usual?" I smiled and led her to the balcony, where we could still see the wedding guests; I kissed the back of her hand and inhaled.

Flashback

It's been a month since I broke up with Polly, but I needed to talk to her; Jared encouraged me to go out to a bar with him, and I agreed. Roman had pissed us off with his tactics, and we wanted to unwind; Emile didn't join us as he had his own issues to work out. However, Uma was unavailable that night, and we all ended up with Askia in the pool hall, isolated from everyone; it was our boys' club. We cared about Askia as Jared's girlfriend, and he was serious about her; Mendai got the weed out and tried calling his girlfriend, and I tried contacting Polly, but she didn't answer. I figured she was still mad at me, and we started drinking heavily; I smelled strong incense in the room, and I even felt a little dizzy as we all started laughing. At first, we started to get hot, and then I saw Askia kissing Jared as we looked on; my c**k hardened an Menadi shiik his head, saying, "This doesn't feel right."

He was right, and pain set in as Askia called us over and said, "f**k me, all of you," and I closed my eyes, trying to clear my head, and then I saw Polly undressing before she started kissing me. I woke up to Emile's guards arresting us and taking us to Emile; Askia's father was furious and wanted answers about what had happened the night before. We admitted the lines were blurred, and Askai's father wanted nothing to do with Jared, forcing the already tense situation into a really bad one; Emile drafted the degree, marrying off Askia to her husband, and she hates us for it.

Present Moment

I looked at Polly as I told her what we had done to Askia; we were all drugged, and we had s*x with her, thinking it was Uma and Polly. I felt a slap swinging my face to the left, I felt the burning of her hand imprint on my jaw, and I knew I had deserved that. I felt her fear and heartbreak, I said, "I would never harm a woman like that," but she backed away from me. I said, "I swore it was you that night, and I was shocked after I learned the truth; Emile cleaned it up, betrothing Askia to someone else as she hated Jared at that moment and wanted nothing to do with him." Polly yelled, "Did you r***d her?" I said, "Goddess no, that's not what happened, and Aidan can vouch for us." Polly backed away again, and I sighed, saying, "Don't look at me like that," but she shoved me away, so I stopped moving. I saw her tears, and she said, "I need time to process this," before I watched the love of my life walk out the door.

I ran out of Levi's room; I had to get out of there; it was suffocating, it brought back memories of my assault, and I knew how Askia felt. Aidan appeared in front of me, and I held him as he hugged me; he whispered, "Levi is telling the truth, there was a strong drug in the room, someone placed it there and set them up." He calmed my nerves and said, "I will make sure Roman pays for what he did to you, and Rowe's secret is safe with us." He wiped my tears and nodded his head to the right of him, and I saw Levi with tears in his eyes. Aiden left us alone, and Levi wiped my tears and said, "I am so sorry, Polly; I should have told you, but we were in such a good place, and I didn't want to upset you with the news, but you deserve to know the truth." I punched him in the gut, and he fell over, saying, "f**k that hurt," and I said, "If you ever cheat on me, I will cut your balls off," before I hugged him and we went back out to celebrate my son's wedding day.
