I'm frozen in place, still staring at my hands.
“Adeline!” I heard my name in a scolding manner. I snapped my head up and saw Connor emerge back through the wall… he still had his jeans on but his shirt was burnt, only a few pieces of fabric still dangling from his body… but his body, his flesh, its unharmed. My eyes stretched big in disbelief. My powers can destroy buildings, but he is unharmed. I questioned myself, then remembered he was next to me when I caused the explosion in the pack house. I never stopped to wonder how he survived it.
“You are not hurt?” I asked, wondering how that was possible.
“Disappointed?” He snaps back, still walking towards me. I stepped back, confused at his remark.
