Dawn breathed out slowly. "That's exactly what I told his Alpha. In any case, I'll be calling him again next week. If no one hears from Chris by then, we'll decide what to do next."
"We'll keep our eyes and ears peeled," she said. Despite her fears, she had to admit that she didn't know Chris well enough to know if he'd had any other plans during his trip. She had no idea he was visiting the Mistwood Valley pack in the first place. Why would he keep her updated on his return journey?
"I'm sure it's nothing," Dawn said, smiling slightly. "He most likely stopped at a few state parks or forested areas to shift and hunt. I certainly would."
Then he buried his face in his pillow once more.
She kneaded his muscles while straddling him. "My beleaguered wolf. You require a vacation."
