I couldn’t breathe—or at least, it felt that way. Agnes had escorted me back to my room after Matteo’s outburst.
He was furious. Something about me being left unsupervised. His words were sharp, loud, and terrifying.
Nico alone was more than enough of a bodyguard, but apparently, that wasn’t the point.
