Chapter 7&8 It's midnight at Crestwood High, but you wouldn't know. The moon was bright, lights were on,casting a golden glow over the campus. Mina was walking to her locker, lost in thought, when she suddenly collided with someone. Her books went flying, and she gasped as she bent down to pick them up. "Clumsy!" a voice sneered. Sophia and their crew smirked, watching as Mina struggled to gather her scattered belongings. Sophia stood among them, a smug smile on her face. But just as Sophia was about to swoop in, Jin surprised everyone by stepping forward and stopping Mina. "I'll help," he said, his voice low and smooth, as he bent down to gather Mina's books. His eyes met Mina's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Mina's rolled her eyes secretly, but she didn't protest. Jin handed her the books, his fingers brushing against hers. "Be careful next time, remember it's midnight," he said, his eyes crinking at the corners as he smiled. Sophia's face darkened, her eyes flashing with anger. "Stay away from him, Mina," she hissed, her voice low and menacing. "Not like he's yours to begin with"Mina scoffed and walked out. As they walked, Sophia turned to her clique. "What's going on with Jin and Mina?" she asked, her voice laced with venom. "Who knows," one of them scoffed. Sophia's eyes lit up. "Speaking of Ksenia, have you guys seen her? I've got a score to settle." The clique giggled, and they launched into a discussion about Ksenia's antics. *. *. *. Ksenia, meanwhile, had returned to her suite, still fuming from her encounter with Corey. She tossed her bag onto the bed and began to pace back and forth, her mind racing with thoughts of revenge. Just as she was starting to calm down, her phone buzzed. It was her dad. "Hey, kiddo! How's school?" he asked, his voice warm and concerned. Ksenia hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "It's been...interesting," she said finally, trying to brush it off. Her dad chuckled. "Well, just be careful, okay?" Ksenia smiled, feeling a pang of gratitude towards her dad. "I will, Dad." As she hung up, she heard a knock at the door. It was Mina, looking a bit flustered. "Hey, Ksenia," Mina said, her voice hesitant. Ksenia raised an eyebrow. "What's up, Mina?" Mina took a deep breath. "I just wanted to tell you...Jin helped me earlier. Sophia was being a total b***h, and Jin stopped her." Ksenia's eyes narrowed. "Jin? As in Corey-Jin's friend Jin?" Mina nodded, her eyes wide. "Yeah. He was actually really nice." "Whatever....I don't like them...."Ksenia scoffed"Anyways...unlike you,I had a bad night...."Ksenia mumled and explained what transpired between she and Corey to Mina. "So what happened???"Mina asked, eyes showing interest. *FLASHBACK* OLD GYM Ksenia's eyes flashed with determination as ahe remembered her master's words"Stay calm, calculate, and you'll outshine your enemies even in the dark." She faced Corey with a clenched fist"You think you can take me down Corey?" Corey's grin was his only response. But Ksenia was ready. With a swift kick, she sent Corey flying across the room. The sound of his body hitting the ground was sweet to her ears. Ksenia smirked as Corey stood up angrily and charged towards her but her words stopped him. "You should be ashamed of yourself Mr.Corey....you really wanna beat up a lady...what if I'm your mother or sister???"Ksenia Scoffed. Corey gritted his teeth angrily"You'll never win against me Ksenia...watch how I do this"he smirked and walked out. "Don't forget to treat the bruise on your butt"She yelled mockingly. *END OF FLASHBACK* "You're surely in for a bigger trouble"Mina said with unease. "I know....he threatened me!"Ksenia scoffed with a little fear in her heart. "Nobody touches hin except families...he hates defeat....and you just have defeated him... he'll surely do anything possible to make you cry!!!"Mina yelled. Ksenia raised her brows"So what should I have done....leave him to beat me up???" "No but......you shouldn't have done that.... you've made a grave mistake"Mina muttered. *COREY'S SUITE* Corey was lounging on the couch, his eyes fixed on the TV screen. But his mind was obviously not there. Alex and Jin were sitting next to him, busy with their phones. "Dude, what happened to you?" Alex asked, his eyes wide with concern, nodding towards Corey's bruises. Corey hesitated, unsure of how to explain. "I...uh...got into a fight," he muttered finally. Alex's eyes lit up. "Who was it?" Corey shook his head, his expression darkening. "None of your business." "But you are not the type to get a bruise while fighting"Jin mumbled. Just then, his phone rang. It was his younger sister. "Hey, big bro!" she said, her voice bright and cheerful. Corey's expression softened, and he smiled. "Hey, kiddo. What's up?" Her voice dropped to a whisper. "I saw you fighting with Ksenia. Are you okay?" "It's none of your business, Mina," he said, trying to brush her off. But Mina persisted. "I just want to make sure you're okay, Corey." Corey's eyes flashed with anger, but he knew he couldn't take it out on Mina. "I'm fine, kiddo. Just stay out of it, okay?" As he hung up, Jin spoke up. "Was that Mina?" Corey's eyes narrowed, but he nodded. "Yeah." Jin's eyes seemed to gleam with interest, but he said nothing. "Stop whatever s**t you might have for my sister!"Corey glared hardly at Jin amd walked away. "Caught bro"Alex chuckled amd Jin just sighed. *CAFETERIA* FEW DAYS LATER MORNING The clique was huddled in the corner of the cafeteria, their voices hushed as they discussed Ksenia. "I mean, who does she think she is?" Sophia sneered, her eyes flashing with anger. "Just because she kissed Corey doesn't mean she can just w-" "Girl, you need to calm down," Emma interrupted, glancing around nervously. "You know Corey doesn't like drama." Sophia's face twisted in a pout. "It's not drama, it's fact. Ksenia's a total freak. I mean, who kisses someone like that in public?" "I didn't know my push would lead to a kiss"Mia scoffed. The clique giggled, and they launched into a discussion about Ksenia's antics. "And have you seen the way she dresses?" Emma whispered. "Like she's trying to get attention or something." "Ugh, and she thinks she's so smart," Mia chimed in. "Thinking she can just answer questions in class and impress everyone." Sophia's expression turned calculating. "We need to take her down a peg. Maybe then she'll learn to stay away from Corey." The clique nodded in agreement, their eyes gleaming with malicious intent. "But how?" Emma asked, her voice laced with excitement. "We can't just bully her like we do with everyone else." Sophia's smile was slow and sly. "Oh, I have a plan. Let's just wait and see." As they continued to scheme, Ksenia walked into the cafeteria, her eyes scanning the room for Mina. She spotted her sitting alone at a table, looking a bit lost. Ksenia's face softened, and she walked over to join her friend. "Hi Mina.... what's up???"Ksenia smiled. "Cool....just trying to avoid Sophia and her Clique"Mina smiled. "Ohhh...those motherfuckers... they don't deserve your beauty baby girl"Ksenia smiled as she sat down. "You didn't order for anything???"Ksenia asked scanning the empty table. "I was waiting for you"Mina replied as they both stood up to get their meals. They got to the counter in no time but not without glares from Sophia. "But what exactly have we done to Sophia??"Ksenia asked as they both got their food walking towards their seat. "I think she likes Corey...."Mina scoffed. "And how is that supposed to be my fault that Corey does not give a f**k about her?"Ksenia scoffed as they sat down ready to eat "Who said he doesn't??"Mina chuckled. "Does he??"Ksenia raised her brows. "I don't know....."Mina mumbled. They began eating in no time and minutes later,Corey walked in with Alex Oh my gawd...Corey in the cafeteria He's so hot.... what's he doing here No one is talking about Alex hotness Ksenia's eyes snapped towards their direction swiftly. "He's actually hot..."Ksenia thought "But he's a b***h that deserves to be taught a good lesson"She scoffed inwardly. She was still lost in thoughts when Corey walked towards her "Can i sit with you?" The cafeteria went completely silent. Even the spoons stopped clinking against plates. Every student’s eyes were now fixed on Corey Banks standing beside Ksenia’s table. Mina nearly dropped her fork,Ksenia blinked slowly, staring up at him like he had just said the most ridiculous thing in the world. “Can I sit with you?” Corey repeated calmly.A loud whisper exploded across the cafeteria. “Did Corey just ask her that??” “No way…” “He never sits with anyone!” “What the hell is happening today?” Ksenia slowly leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms,Her eyes scanned Corey from head to toe,Then she smirked. “Why?” she asked lazily. Alex, who had been standing behind Corey, chuckled softly. “Damn… she’s fearless." Alex said but Corey ignored him. His dark eyes stayed locked on Ksenia’s face.“Move,” he said calmly. “You don’t command me.” Kesina raised a brow. Another wave of gasps spread across the cafeteria. “She’s insane…” “She’s really talking to Corey like that…” Mina nervously tugged Ksenia’s sleeve. “Maybe… maybe we should let him sit?” she whispered. Ksenia glanced at her. “Relax.” she replied Then she turned back to Corey. “And what if I say no?” she blurted. For a moment, Corey didn’t moveThe air around them felt heavy,Dangerous. Then suddenly—He pulled a chair and sat down anyway,Right beside her. The cafeteria exploded. “WHAT?!” “He sat beside her!!” “This is insane!” Sophia slammed her hand on the table from across the room,Her face burned with jealousy. Meanwhile Corey calmly rested his arm on the table like nothing unusual had happened. Ksenia stared at him, “You’re unbelievable.” she muttered blankly. Corey tilted his head slightly .“You kicked me.” Corey said.and Ksenia smirked. “You deserved worse.”Alex laughed loudly. “Bro… this girl is dangerous.”Corey ignored him, no one can be dangerous than him. Instead he leaned slightly toward Ksenia. “You’re not afraid of me,” he said quietly and Ksenia met his gaze without hesitation. “Should I be?” she replied Their eyes locked. For a moment the entire cafeteria seemed to disappear,Just the two of them. Then Corey suddenly smirked,A slow, dangerous smirk. “I like brave girls,” he murmured and Ksenia rolled her eyes. “Save your compliments.” kesnai But before Corey could reply— A loud crash echoed across the cafeteria,Everyone turned. Sophia had just knocked her chair over,Her eyes were burning with fury. “So this is what’s going on?” she snapped,She walked toward their table slowly. The entire cafeteria held their breath,Sophia stopped in front of Ksenia. “You think you’re special because you kissed Corey once?” Ksenia calmly took a sip of her juice. “You pushed me.” she replied but Sophia ignored that. Her glare shifted to Corey. “Corey… you’re really sitting with her?” Sopiah said Corey didn’t even look at her. He simply said— “Leave.”The single word was cold,Sharp. Sophia froze,Her face turned pale.l,“But—" Corey finally lifted his eyes. And the look in them was enough to silence the entire room. “I said leave.” Corey thunderd and Sophia clenched her fists. Her humiliation burned through her veins,Slowly… she turned and walked away. But the hatred in her eyes when she glanced back at Ksenia was terrifying. Meanwhile Alex leaned toward Corey “Congratulations,” he whispered. “You just started a war.” Alex grinned but Corey didn’t respond. His eyes were still on Ksenia. And for the first time There was something different in them Interest,Real interest. Ksenia noticed it And she smirked. “Oh great,” she muttered. “Now the devil is curious…” whispered one of the students, eyes wide as they watched Ksenia sit across from Corey. Sophia’s gaze burned like fire. She stepped closer, her heels clicking loudly against the polished floor. “You really think you can sit there like you belong?” Sophia hissed, leaning over Ksenia, her face twisted with jealousy. Ksenia flinched slightly, but her hands tightened around her lunch tray. Her lips trembled, a small whimper escaping despite her best effort to stay composed. “I… I’m not hurting anyone,” Ksenia said, her voice shaking but blank. “Not hurting anyone?” Sophia laughed coldly, stepping back and gesturing to the cafeteria. “Do you know what you’re doing? Everyone here knows Corey doesn’t sit with anyone. You’re painting a target on your back!” she said. A few students sneered and started whispering among themselves, inching closer. “Why don’t we teach her a lesson?” one boy muttered, pushing past a table to block Ksenia’s path. Ksenia’s heart raced,Panic clawed at her chest, but she refused to run. Her fingers shook as she gripped the tray tighter. She has this phobia of bullies and still fighting with it so scenes like this weakens her. “I… I said I’m not doing anything wrong,” she whispered again, trying to sound firm. The boy smirked and shoved her lightly. Ksenia stumbled, a small cry escaping her lips. Her eyes welled with tears, but she blinked rapidly, refusing to let them fall. “Don’t think you’re safe just because he’s sitting there,” Sophia spat, stepping closer, her face inches from Ksenia’s. “We can take care of you ourselves!”Ksenia’s breaths came fast, and her hands began to shake. She wanted to scream, to run, but something inside her snapped. She straightened her back, lifted her chin, and glared at Sophia. “Try me,” she said, voice trembling but carrying a spark of defiance. Gasps rippled through the cafeteria. Students whispered feverishly. “She’s actually standing up to Sophia?” “No way… she’s crazy.” Before Sophia could react, another girl from the clique shoved Ksenia from behind. Ksenia stumbled again, her knees nearly buckling. She grabbed the edge of a table for support, tears threatening to spill. “Get… off me!” she cried, trying to push back. Corey didn’t move an inch, but his eyes, dark and calculating, scanned every move. The room seemed to shrink under his presence. Even though he stayed silent, the students instinctively froze, knowing he was watching every step. Ksenia’s heart pounded. She felt weak, small, terrified—but a fire inside her began to burn. I… I won’t let them break me, she thought. Not today. With shaky hands, she steadied herself and lifted her tray, using it to block a shove from Mia. The tray wobbled dangerously, but Ksenia refused to drop it. “Enough!” she yelled, a small sob catching in her throat. Her face was red, her eyes wet, but her voice carried authority. “I said leave me alone!” ksenia screamed her bully phobia is acting up she has no control over it. The cafeteria went silent. Even Sophia paused, eyes wide in disbelief. Corey’s gaze flicked briefly to Ksenia. There was a flash of something unreadable—interest, annoyance, curiosity—but he said nothing. His presence alone was enough to make the aggressors hesitate. Sophia hissed under her breath , “This isn’t over, newbie…” Sophia and backed away, her clique following. Ksenia collapsed onto her chair, hands shaking, tears finally spilling over. She buried her face in her arms for a moment, trembling—but inside, she was already planning. They think they can scare me… They’re wrong. And from across the room, Corey leaned back slightly, still silent, still watching. The cafeteria returned to its usual noise—but Ksenia knew one thing: this was just the beginning of the war she’d have to fight at Crestwood High. if not for he stupid phobia this is nothing and they are gonna pay like real one. Ksenia looked up a big smile spread across her face you'll think she's a physco "BASTARD!!!" ksenia said to Corey. "dare say that again.... And I will rip out your heart!" Corey finally spoke again. "mother f*****g bastard.
