Chapter Three: Kari

170 Words
The boy saw me. His eyes were filled with fear and then surprise. The boy touched me, his smooth skin like cotton against my rough hand. How was that even possible? How was I even suddenly aware of how his skin felt on mine? How was I even suddenly aware of my own hands? As his gaze met mine and his hands outstretched, there was this bubble that rose inside me. A warm, fuzzy feeling that felt so strange and yet so familiar. And then it was gone as easily as it came. I am so confused. There was a longing inside me. Of what, I’m not entirely sure. It was as if what I need was within grasp but before I can see what it was, it slipped through my fingers gliding towards a sinking hole that grew even more within, eating away my insides and leaving me feeling translucent. I am dead, of that I am sure. But that boy, he made me want to live.
