When I wake up, I notice that I'm in a beautiful, rich looking bedroom. A chandelier hanging high above my head, a fancy white dresser in front of the bed, what looks to be a walk in closet, and everything in my favorite color, baby blue.
"Good morning, beautiful."
I whip my head in the direction of the voice. I see the man Anuklomus smirking at me, head resting in one of his hands. Probably a foot away, maybe getting closer.
"Riptide." I blurted out without thinking.
"I love a girl who knows her Greek." Anuklomus says, grinning.
I'm surprised by how I know the definition of his name. I don't even know Greek.
"This is a mistake. I don't even know Greek!" I say nervously.
"Yes you do. You just don't know it yet." Anuklomus says, smirking and putting a hand on my cheek.
I push his hand away, annoyed and nervous. Questioning where I am and who this creature really is.
"Where am I-?" I don't get to finish.
River bursts through the doors, his normal self.
"Move!" River shoves Anuklomus out of the way, checking the parts on my skin that are showing, checking for any injuries.
"Are you hurt? Did this fool hurt you?" River asks.
Before I could reply, the third man walks in.
"Princess, are these baboons hurting you?" He asked.
I was about to answer but they all started arguing. It started hurting my ears, I covered them and shouted:
"STOP!"
They all stopped and then all eyes were on me. River gently grabbed my chin and moved my head so he could look at my ear.
"I'm sorry princess. Were we hurting your ears?" River asked.
"Yes." I answer before I can be cut off.
"I'm completely sorry, princess." River says.
I don't know what their deal was with calling me princess, but I was too tired to complain. Before I could do anything, River could probably sense I was tired. Because he started singing a lullaby. I fell asleep with my head in his hand.
When I awoke, I realized I'm not in the same room anymore. I'm in what looks to be a nurse's office, except everything is a dark colors. Anuklomus and River were arguing outside the room, while the third man, whose name I still don't know, was sleeping with his head laying on the bed I was laying on. I glance out the door but notice that Anuklomus and River probably won't stop arguing for another hour or two. So, I look back at the third man and tap his shoulder lightly. He opens his eyes immediately, almost as if he wasn't really asleep.
"Yes, princess?" He asks.
"What's your name? I never got it." I reply curiously.
The man chuckles and answers my question, "My name is Jax." He smiles at me, his entirely serious attitude from before is now completely gone.
Weird. Isn't he always serious and cold? Why is he so kind now? I'll figure it out later, because I just realized that I'm starting to get sleepy again. I don't know why, but when I looked back at Jax, he had a sinister yet innocent smile playing on his lips, and a mischievous look in his eyes. When I was closing my eyes, I saw him stand up and reach towards me, the smile completely gone. My eyes closed just as his hand was close to my face, reaching me as I fell asleep.
