Fromir Noir
Fromir impatiently thrummed his fingers against his desk. He'd felt the barrage of power, had seen the pull of power from the stars and knew that his prize had finally broken through her bindings. She was at least twenty by now, it had been nearly a decade of waiting for any sign of life, and it was finally here. Though he couldn't be sure it was her until he received word ruling out any other scenarios that could be at play, he was hopeful that his decades long wait was coming to an end. In reality, the wait had gone on for hundreds of years. He'd nearly captured Polaris in her previous incarnation, but her human form had other plans, and had snuffed out their flame before he'd had a chance to obtain the North Star's power for his own. He ran his hands over his scalp, the scarce whispy strands of hair falling as he ran his fingers over them. This vessel had served him well for nearly eighty years, it had suited him greatly, but it was nearing time for him to secure a new vessel. He scratched at one of the myriad of liver spots on the back of his hand, scoffing in frustration as his impatience continued to build. He snapped angrily, resolving to send the first communication himself if the lower mages couldn't be bothered to report as instructed.
"How much longer do I need to wait before you imbeciles have information or evidence? It's been hours since the explosion and I've heard nothing from any of the mages in Seattle. " Fromir spat impatiently on a thread of magic. He was states away, but had lower mages placed all over the continent to monitor any wolf activity that would lead to the discovery of the North Star.
"There is no evidence to gather, Master. Even portions of the building involved in the blast were completely obliterated. There is no rubble, no cloth or DNA evidence present." the lower mage responded. "We think it's her. She was pulling power from the stars to fuel the blast."
Fromir's eyes widened excitedly, a sickly grin spreading across his papery thin lips. "Though you yourself are worthless, that is information enough indeed. She is exactly what we've been waiting for."
"She must be close, Master, perhaps the Bainbridge clan?"
"Of course that's where she is, you fool! But we musn't reveal our hand just yet. The enchantments on the bay remain in tact. But soon enough, the wolves in their entirety will fall."
Fromir required nothing else from this lowly mage, and instead turned his attention to his most prized possession, The Grimhold that lay waiting longingly for him to thumb through its pages.
He ran his fingers over the leather cover. The tips of his fingers were tainted black from centuries of using dark magic. The Grimhold flipped open to the pages he needed, the same pages he'd viewed thousands of times before. His time was coming, Polaris and Andromeda both would be his.
