The Garden of Eden is recorded many times over in human books. Animals roamed the vast land mastered by God’s mighty creation: man. Woman was made to fill the void at man’s side and the Garden was perfect. Then humans were cast out for their first sin against God. Human books continue on with life, ignoring a piece of history. Now magiclings, their records fill in that piece that humans have forgotten. For in the garden a great beast ran alongside the animals. Scaled winged giants that glided through the skies, wolves greater in size than a bear, and many more. And as a woman, she was more than a mire wife. God knew that one day humans would betray his command, so as he gave a breath to bring woman to life, he added a tad more. She awoke with a touch of magic to help care for her husband, home, and more. A gift that she would pass to some of her children that she bore. Man and woman were beloved by all the creatures in the garden, and when they were cast out, many wept for the loss of man. As man fled at God’s command, a few of these creatures made a rash decision to leave alongside them. One of them being the greatest wolf the garden had ever seen, his love for man so much he couldn’t bear to watch him leave for a world full of danger. In his haste, he left his mate behind and heartbroken. The female wolf went to God and wept at his feet for the loss of her mate. God hated to see his creation in pain and bent down taking the female wolf in his hands, bringing her to the heavens. At his touch, the female wolf transformed into a beautiful woman before God, her beauty as bright as the moon pleased him. He requested for her to walk with him in the heavens and provide him with companionship. She happily agreed, but asked for one request: to be able to look upon her lost mate and watch him as he lived with man. God agreed and joined her in watching over man and the beast.
The male wolf stood close to man and woman protecting them from many of the dangers Lucifer himself sent onto man. Many of the beasts did the same and man was grateful to have such protection and loyalty. Woman became pregnant with the first human child and so their numbers began to grow. And from heaven God and the female wolf watched. Though the male wolf was pained at the loss of his mate, he was filled with pride and dedication to man’s offspring. His favorite being man’s first-born daughter, whose magical gift helped humans in great ways. The humans soon found that they were scarcely seen without the other. She and her twin sister brought great prosperity to their village. The first born used her magic to protect the village alongside her favorite wolf. Lucifer sent horrid creates to strike man down: vampires, demons, and many other retched creatures. Her sister used her magic on crops, the sickly, and anything else she was called on for. The first protector and caster were given their titles.
Man felt such appreciation for the wolf’s great sacrifice to be with humans, he offered his first-born daughter to help ease his sorrow for his lost mate. Though they would not be able to consummate a marriage, the daughter was never to take a man to bed as a show of the union. The daughter loved the wolf so much she happily agreed. Soon many other beasts that had stood by man’s side were joined with wives and husbands, each blessed with magic in their veins.
The female wolf cried tears of joy that her mate once again had companionship. At God’s side, she asked if he would bless her mate and his wife with the ability to have children. God was impressed with her pure heart, as to look upon her once mate and wish him blessings, instead gave her a blessing. He kissed her head and transformed her into more than a mere beast. He called her the moon Goddess and she would watch over all beasts in the human realm. The Moon Goddess thanked God and went to work blessing her mate. She went to him and his wife in a dream. She explained that once a month, on the full moon, he would transform into a man. And if he could withstand the pain that came with it, he could lie with his wife and she would be blessed with a bountiful womb. On the first full moon, the first werewolf shift was completed and, through the pain, his wife sat by his side. They laid together all night and when morning came, he once again walked as a wolf. The first child born a werewolf was conceived. The Moon Goddess blessed each beast with the ability to mate with their human. Man, woman, and beasts alike were happy.
Life seemed to be as close to the garden as they could ever hope for, until sin once again found its way into the hearts of humans. The first murder rang with horror through the humans, and beasts began to worry. Humans born without magic allowed jealousy to grow in their hearts towards those blessed with it, and the word witch was born. Their hearts grew with wicked ideas and soon they set their eyes on the beast. They claimed that it was unnatural for the beast to take humans as their betrothed, and demanded they give them back. With no other option, the magically blessed and the beasts with their families fled from the wicked humans. All the magiclings disappeared. In desperation for safety, they hid far and wide, allowing humans to forget their existence. From time to time, humans and magiclings would come across each other’s paths and history would record what today's humans call folklore or fairy tales.
Beasts have grown in numbers, blessed by their Moon Goddess, but they continue a life in secret. They would be ignorant to ignore the warnings written time and time again in their history. Today, the beasts have been renamed to creatures, and they rule themselves in secret. Human sin slipped into the hearts of some and wars have raged on and off through the centuries. Humans with magic in their veins evolved to protect themselves, deciding to isolate themselves away from the creatures. They now carry the title of caster and protector, each one born with a life linked to the other. A protector is born with a magical sight, always able to see their castor no matter their distance apart. A caster does not gain their full power until they unite with their protector. The pair together makes a perfect unit to ensure their magical survival. They too find sin in their hearts, and fight amongst themselves. Their society split into two kingdoms: the light and the dark. In today’s society, magiclings and humans truly have more in common than they would like to admit to. Evil, good, love, hate, war, and true happiness all flow together.
Stacey has never been told this story, kept in the dark and her magic bound for her safety. And though her protector, Amanda, and she are together, they are blissfully ignorant of the evil the Dark Kingdom has planned for them.
