My Fault

MEANWHILE Elizabeth pushed her friend's mother into the nearest room and locked the door behind them. Since all the rooms, except a couple, were soundproof, Elizabeth didn't have to worry about her friends accidentally overhearing or eavesdropping on them. "That's Lucy." Sofia was bent at the waist, covering her ears with her hands. Her eyes tightly shut as she shook her head every now and then, trying to shake the memories away. ~~~~~~~~~~ "Look at the girl. She's you daughter, lu-ucy." The voice said, dragging the girl's name, into the ear of a tied up Sofia. Sofia scrunched her nose in disgust when a stench of whiskey hit her, making her open her eyelids which felt too heavy. She blinked her eyes and shook her head as all she could see were blurry figures and her eyes were filled with tears. Her head rolled back as she felt light headed when her vision was slightly steady but she groaned in distress when a hand fisted her hair tightly, holding her head steady at the giant screen in front of her. Having no energy to fight, Sofia trained her eyes on the slightly blurry figure. She could make it out to be a woman as her waist was tucked in, her front facing Sofia, one of her hand was raised, as if to make a pledge. Sofia flinched as she heard a gun shot, realizing that the woman held a gun. "Look at your daughter, look at her face as she kills a person. Your innocent lovely Lucy is now a tainted soul. I wanted to make you watch as she pulled the trigger in reality, but- now that's a risk I can't take, can I?" The voice, a male's, gripped her hair tightly and let ut go, chuckling darkly. Sofia's eyes widened in shock as she took in what he just said. Daughter? Luna? Or is it Lucy? Lucy swore she won't kill a soul so it's probably Luna. If it's Luna, then she could save her. Sofia thought and heavily lifted her head so her gaze was on the girl's face. She couldn't exactly see the face, though it held slight similarity of luna's, she was sure it was lucy. 'Ohh my poor and innocent daughter.' Sofia let out a sob in grief. She and her daughter never got along. She let out another sob as she might never meet her again. Her reality sinking deep inside her, cutting through her heart. "How do you feel?" The same voice asked, except it sounded distant. "Nothing." Lucy replied in a monotone, before the screen went blank. "Don't worry, I'm not that cruel. You will meet her, but she won't." The voice said when Sofia bent her head and cried harder, slowly ruffling the top of her head with a smirk looking smug and 'tsking' in a mocking and cold manner. "My husband will definitely find me." She said through gritted teeth. "You husband is married to your sister. Or should I say, our sister." He said kneeling down and lifted her head with his thumb so she can take a look at his smug face. ~~~~~~~~~~ Elizabeth looked at Sofia sympathetically. "She is. But she isn't." Elizabeth said in a broken tone. "She lost her memories and now she goes by the name Vanessa. Don't tell her you are her mother. She will freak." She explained rubbing her hand over her face. What a messy situation. "My daughter." Sofia cried out. "It's not your fault." Elizabeth comforted her, rubbing her back soothingly. "Let's get you to bed." Elizabeth said, helping her steady her posture and supporting both of their weight as Sofia leaned on her, shaking her head as she kept wiping her eyes. "It's all my fault." Sofia confessed as she choked for breath. "How?" Elizabeth asked, suspiciously, helping her lie down on the bed. But Sofia shook her head as she slowly fell asleep without answering Elizabeth's question. Elizabeth wondered what she meant by 'It's all her fault'? Is there more to the story?
