Second Chance with You

The Beginning

First day of classes in Yale University. Sophie Harlow, a junior fashion design student, was walking out her dormitory to her first day orientation as a junior student. She is very popular on the campus and tons of men have a huge crush on her but unfortunately she's only interested on Paul Bexley, a senior student. Paul is also very popular on his looks and he's a pretty genius guy. His parents are wealthy and owns a lot of businesses in New York City. Who wouldn't want him? He's like a perfect package. The only thing about Paul is that he also likes Sophie but doesn't make a move about it. He doesn't know that Sophie likes him either, so he got scared to ask Sophie out because she might reject him. 

After the orientation, all students gathered outside to participate on an event to welcome the freshmen students of Yale. Sophie was with her friends, roaming around, giving balloons to students as a sign of welcome. After awhile, Sophie needs to go back to her dorm because she need to get her portfolio with her amazing sketches and designs. Once she got it, she went to the library for some quiet time and do some sketches. She sat and started sketching. She lifted her head and looked in front of her, there's Paul on the other table reading some book. She got really nervous so she moved her head down and pretended she was really busy sketching, just to avoid any eye contacts with him. Paul saw her, he hesitated if is he going to talk to her or not. He said to himself, "this is it Paul. This is your time to ask her." Paul walked towards Sophie's table and sat facing her. "Hi",said Paul to Sophie. She replied,"hey, what's up?". He saw her sketches and complimented it. Paul's hand were soaked in sweat. He's really nervous talking to Sophie hoping she will not get bored. They exchanged conversations. Now, Paul asked her, "Sophie, if you don't mind, are you willing to go out with me sometime?''. Sophie was in shock, wanted to scream as loud as she can but of course she remained cool about it. "Yeah,sure. Why not?"she said, and smiled. They both set a date for their first date and exchanged numbers. After that, Sophie exited the library with a huge smile on her face. She immediately find her friends and tell the exciting news. Everyone was very happy and excited for Sophie. Imagine, your crush asked you out for a date? It is indeed a great day for her. 

The date has come. Paul is picking up Sophie at her room dormitory. As Sophie opened the door, Paul was standing outside her room with a bouquet of flowers. He's wearing a black tux and Sophie is wearing a red satin long dress with a black stiletto heels. Paul opened the car door for her, what a gentleman he is. They drove to New York City and had a fancy dinner. During the dinner, the both talked about their commons and about their family. They are really getting to know each other. After the delicious dinner, they both had a long walk in the city. It's cold outside and Sophie doesn't have any coat or blazer to keep her warm so Paul offered his tuxedo blazer and wrapped it around her. He suddenly grabbed her hand and continued walking. Sophie couldn't hide her smile. While walking, Sophie told Paul that she wants to live in the city someday. She wants to grow and build her career there. Paul admired Sophie for her ambitions in life. At that moment, Paul knew that he wanted to see Sophie grow to the woman she wants to become. He wanted to be there for every step of the journey. Without knowing, they ended up in Central Park. They both rested their feet and sat for awhile. They continued to talk about their futures, what they what in life. Then Paul shared something to Sophie. "During your freshman year in the University, I already noticed you and you already took away my heart. I was so scared to ask you out because I don't know if you're going to say yes or you'll reject me. So I waited more, waited for the right moment. But the time that both of us in the library, I really forced myself to ask you. Because I don't want to waste anymore days, months, and years. I don't wanna wait any longer so this is now or never. From the moment that I saw you the first time, I knew that I want you.". Sophie left speechless. She doesn't know what to say about Paul's confession about his feelings for her. "I really like you too,Paul." Then Paul kissed her passionately. Coincidentally, there were fireworks popping up in the air. It's like the kiss and the fireworks were linked together. Now, this is the best day for both them. The best first date. 

Sophie woke up to a call from Paul. She still have this huge smile painted on her face and couldn't believed if it really happened or it was just a dream. She got up, showered, and ate breakfast. She phoned her friends to share what happened on their date. She got her prince, after all. After all the chattering and sharing, she went to a coffee shop nearby and studied. She felt lonely so she asked Paul to come. Paul came, kissed Sophie on the cheek and the students who know them who are in the coffee shop saw that and were shocked. The news spread quickly over the campus. The guys and ladies who are crushing on them both were devastated about the news but the others are very happy and excited for their journey together. It's about them from now on so they don't care about the negative comments anymore. They both looking forward for their relationship, and their future together. After all, we all wanted a happy ever after, don't we?
