‘Too dark’ was the first thought she had when she stepped on the stage. Everywhere was dim, she could only see silhouettes. But the stage where she stood was especially dark. Suddenly bright light blinded her vision as the stage lights were turned on. Exposing all of her. She looked at the ground. Refusing to face the audience. She felt different pairs of eyes on her body and she didn't like it. She decided to just look down. Saving herself from seeing their stupid faces and also hiding her visible disgust. There were audible gasps as she was displayed. Some of them were shocked by her breathtaking beauty. After all Alissa was a rare beauty. She kept her head down even as the Auctioneer began accepting bids. Soon one of the men came and forced her face up. Holding her jaw so tight she nearly winced. This was so that they could see her face clearly. He was probably sent by someone higher. If her guess was correct it was Marcel. That's damned wolf. The base price for her was times two of what it was for other girls. Even though she didn't have a wolf. But if she did it would probably be times four of that amount. Men and women started bidding. And in no time the bid got higher and higher till it got to five times the original amount. Alissa still refused to look at any of them. Her eyes tightly shut. This back and forth went on for some minutes. Finally an old or middle aged man; judging from his voice, made a bid that was double the Peak price at that moment. That shut everybody up. The hall was so silent that one would almost hear if a pin dropped. Even Alissa was taken aback. Was she really worth that much? She asked herself. She was tempted to open her eyes and see the man who made that bid but she held herself. The Auctioneer asked for any other bidders but no one raised a bid again. He waited for two whole minutes. “Going once, going twice…”, the auctioneer was about to hit the gavel when a cool calm and deep voice spoke. “One hundred million” the person spoke. If silence could speak, this one would be louder than the previous one. After some time different whispers could be heard. Some found it impossible that ‘he’ could bid for someone, and even that amount. The discussion and gossip amongst so many people rose more and more. The rich and elite people from different packs looked like no more than market gossipers. After all that amount could buy a whole mansion and even have enough change for a luxurious car. Alissa finally opened her voice upon hearing the same voice that filled her dreams almost every night. There he was, sitting majestically and exuding confidence without even trying. He was at the back of the top area. His blue eyes were staring right into her soul. Alissa swallowed. Why did he bid for her and what was he doing here? Was he finally here to save her? She started breathing hard in relief. He was here to save her. She knew it. She knew he would come. She didn't even hear as the auctioneer finally closed the bid with Erwin's unmatched offer. Her whole attention was on the man seated at the far back. Looking bored and ready to leave any moment. Soon she was taken to another corner of the big hall, her eyes still not leaving him. She was made to sign some papers, she could read a bit of it and saw it was some ownership deed or something. Good thing her mother taught her how to read a bit before she disappeared from her life. She then finally put her fingerprint on the paper. She didn't know why that was necessary but she didn't mind. As long as she could belong to the alpha of her dreams, she would do anything. She looked again at the corner where Erwin was sitting a moment ago but he was no where to be found. After all the processing she was led through another door and taken to a black luxurious car with tinted windows. Before she entered she admired the view of the outside world after so many years. She hadn't be let out for ten years. She was either at the underground facility, even when she snuck out she was always in the bar or casino. She never managed to sneak outside and couldn't take the risk. She took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. If she hadn't been saved ten years ago, she wouldn't have been able to see the sun or moon for the rest of her life. She was grateful for that. Before she could get her bearings and enter the car, she was shoved carelessly inside and she turned shaply and glared at the guard who did that. Snarling at him. They didn't need to be rough with her. “You b***h” The man said as he lunged forward, probably to teach her a lesson for challenging him. But before he could touch her. He was hauled back with incredible force that he fell on the floor. He got up, wanting to fight whoever dared to touch him. But when he saw that cold face and those deep black eyes staring at him in a silent dare. He just stepped back and nodded. “I apologise Beta Jude”. After that he just scurried away with his companion. After they left beta Jude calmly looked at her assessively, as if trying to find or understand something. She almost shrank back from his stare but Alissa was never one to back down from a challenge or anything, no matter how scared she was or how difficult it was. She met his gaze head on. Seeing that, Jude just smiled. He then looked back. He heard someone coming. She was inside the car and the door was still open, somehow obstructing her view of the back. But she still heard it, that beautiful deep voice. They were speaking in low voices so she couldn't hear them since she didn't have wolf hearing. As she was craning her head, trying to get a glimpse but didn't succeed, a shadow cast over her. She slowly looked up and a gasp left her lips. What a sight to behold. She wouldn't mind staring at this face everyday for the rest of her life.
