Jake

“Are you ready now, Princess?” I grin at her frustration, as I circle her. “Yes, but are you ready?” She swirls the four-meter length metal pole in her hand and around her back to her right hand. I can just feel her excitement overpowering her, my eyes fill with the same delight and the same glow of power she has. “And don’t call me Princess. You know I hate that?” “Yes, Your Highness” grinning made it worse. She may not be blood, but she is family to me. Violetta launches and backswings her pole towards mine, I dodge the first and meet the second with my pole. The weight of the thing set my pole back, back, and further back… but not far enough to knock it free out of my hands. “For only training you for a few days, how are you already better than me?” I use my pole and push her towards the side out of my way. “I had dreams after I turned that I was going to be kidnapped, I trained on my own for a while.” “But you still got kidnapped” I laughed more. This hits her as she gasps. I flick my head to move my dripping dirty fringe from out of my face and watch as she gets to her feet. Our poles touch once again, and her feet move to the rhythm of her weapon as she is the weapon herself. “Use more strength! You are a werewolf, not a puppy.” She spun and directed her pole at the back of my legs forcing me off my feet and into the dirt. “Jumping up trees is not training.” “I didn’t… Stop reading my thoughts.” She growls. “Strong enough?” “Yes…” I gasp for air. I watch as her eyes wander beside me. “Pick it up then.” My pole laid flat collecting the dirt underneath, I viewed her senses as she dared me to. I climbed to my feet and ran towards the pole, seconds in front of her, stopping and grabbing the pole tight as the contact sent vibrations through my arms. Just above me, she smiles her glow green eyes, her fangs, her claws exposed. Her legs are just touching mine. “Ouch…” Just one move and she came dropping down, I threw away her pole and held mine against her throat. “Seriously?” she chokes. I laughed and realized the pole. “You need to remember that you trained to kill supernatural beings like me.” My face squinted at that statement and laughed it off. I stopped sighed and gazed at her beneath me. ‘I am sorry I disappeared’. She stops and gazes, her cheeks full of rose, her freckles that slightly blend with her tanned skin has not changed since I left years ago. “Wait. What do you mean ‘you dreamt you were kidnapped before it happened’?” Her curly hair now has caramel highlights from the bottom to the top, outstanding on her oval face, making her more mature than she was before. I look up from her face and watch as Hunter moves from the window, I smirk and lift myself off her, she flushes and cries out as she stands, grabbing my hand for support. Her heated soft hands, fingers between mine. Her smile grew larger as she pushed me away from her side. “Hey!” “What. I am royalty now. You cannot have feelings for me.” I laugh, an awkward laugh she saw right through me, but then I’ve always liked a bit of both worlds. “Feelings for you. Don’t tempt me.” She was shocked and threw the pole at me. I duck and watch as he hits the tree taking layers off it. I swung back around sinking into her laughter, “It has been a while.” “What?” She grabs her things. “You, laughing. It’s nice.” “I promised myself that I wouldn’t cry anymore.” And she will try and keep that promise. “I’m going to wash up!” She skips up the steps and into the house, I grab the pole she threw near the trees. “Alpha” My eyes halted Adrian stood behind me. “Hello, Jake” I nod my head, walking to the rest of the poles and throwing them down, picking up my water. I turn back to him, preparing myself for werewolf rules. “What’s wrong?” I gulp the water. “I know you have only just turned, but our world is different, and you need to follow our rules. What you are doing is forbidden.” “What is?” I smirk. “Don’t be smart with me son.” He grunts, making me sigh and putting me in a bad mood. “I want you to protect her. Don't bed her.” I growl at his words. It is not wise to fight with the alpha, but Violet comes first. “I will always protect Vi, and it is her choice who she is with.” He laughs as the words come out of my mouth. “Princess to you.” He spoke. “Alpha with all due respect, I have known Violetta before she could even talk. She is family to me, ask her yourself. Who do you think would choose between life and death if your pack and my life were in the balance? Who do you think she will go with?” He fell silent. “No matter what happens to Violetta I will always be there. I came here to find the killers of my parents and I became that thing myself thanks to your son, and your son committed treason, don't forget.” “Is that a threat?” “No Alpha, that’s a reminder. The only person that is holding my humanity together is Violetta.” No words still come out of the mouth of the alpha, but he can’t stop me, and I am guessing he knows that too. I turn and pick up the poles, heading towards the house, but I stop. “You do realize that she may already be wedded, fated before she was already born. tied to the crown for a husband, so remember my words. It is forbidden, Jake.” She's not my type. “Violet isn’t going to like that, she hates people controlling her life, and an arranged marriage, good luck with that. And for it to be so forbidden, you might want to ask your son what happened with him and your Princess while playing human, I'm sure you would be pleased to know.” I know I shouldn’t have, but I did. The bastard turned me, I owed him this one.
