Hunter- Brothers Mistakes

1083 Words
HUNTERS POV I walked up towards the school, falling over my feet, the whole school and dorm's lights went out, as I headed into the school grounds and threw the doors, from out of the forest, I felt angry, what had I done? The blood of my brother draws me towards him, he is here somewhere, what have I done? Is treason. My dad may not ever forgive me. I was never supposed to do it. I was only supposed to follow, being in my true form was a mistake, and it was easier to hide. I should have never done it. Why would he be in the forest anyway? Here, after all this time, that is my excuse. “Brother,” I gasp for air as I tumble into his room. “Hunter. What happened?” My brother runs to my fall and brings my naked body to the table and chairs. But now that I am eye to eye, I find it harder to tell him the truth of what I have done, but it's now, or later. “I have done something dreadful, brother,” My brother grabs me some spare clothes. I struggled to place them on as the shock froze me. “I don’t understand, tell me.” “I bit someone,” I whisper. I heard his heart skip a beat. “Brother, I need your help.” “Who did you bite?” His tone shifted; his voice became deeper. The water he was pouring, filled and overflowed the table. “Redwood, Jake Redwood.” The heavy weight lifted from my body, telling him was the last thing I needed to do, but it had to be done, I have never done this before, and I have never shared my blood with anyone. “Do you know who he is?” He growls. “You gotta be kidding me, Hunter!” “Yes,” I stutter. “He is a Hunter. A Hunter! Brother!” The glass smashes onto the floor. “I wanted peace, coming here for peace, and you come here and deliver treason to my front door. I don’t want anything to do with it.” “Please. I beg you brother; it was an accident.” “How?” “I had changed into my form, he attacked me, so I bit him. What else was I supposed to do?” My brother laughs, coming towards me, his hand suddenly wrapped around my throat. “Anything but bite him. Anything. You should have killed him, buried his body.” His fangs were exposed causing mine to mimic his, hissing at me, I couldn’t help but growl back. He grunts, struggling to release his hand. “Where is he?” “At his house three blocks from here.” “Then let’s go before he kills someone.” … “Then the blood is on your hand.” “That’s only if he survives the transformation,” I whisper. “Then let’s hope he doesn’t, otherwise our father would have to forsake another son.” ... “I thought I smelled a dog” He cracks his neck and sighs. “We could say the same.” I grin. He forcefully came towards me as my brother held me back. “You think this is funny? I despise your kind, hideous, outrageous beasts.” My brother growls at him to back off. “Why are you here?” “You turned me to ask me that?” He shouts. “Your family are a rare but powerful line of Hunters; you are here for a reason.” My brother snaps. “I'm here for Vi.” He smirks, my claws and fangs erupt as I head towards him. “Back down, now! Are you a vampire? Calm yourself!” “Listen to your brother, little puppy.” He mutters, my brother looks me deep in the eyes, something I haven’t seen in over thirty years. He turns holding Jake by the throat, but Jake just laughs. “You cannot hurt me.” He mutters. “I have been hunted, enslaved, tormented…” My brother slowly let him go, a tear fell from his face as he marched closer to us with every word. “I have been captured, starved, controlled, I have lost everything, and that brother of yours took the last little freedom I had left, in my entire life, I became the most hatred disgusted thing that I loathe the most, the thing that murdered my family. And you want me to tell you why I am here. My hometown, my ancestor’s hometown. Now why are you here? You tell me that. Why is there a pack of the werewolf King's hands doing where the most powerful creature is, Huh? Are you here to take her for yourself? You are not here to start a new life, I wouldn’t believe that for a second.” He turns to my brother. “I have been watching you, taking notes, sneaking around her like no one is looking, giving her extra studies so you can be close, to gain her trust.” “That’s not true.” My brother grunts. Jake scoffs. I scattered around his home, when I didn’t have a chance to, photographs covered, furniture covered, the windows bolted, the candles burnt the dust around it. “Forget it. You were here for something. But you can no longer be a part of it. You are a werewolf now, and you must understand you…” “Need to take the secret to my grave. I know the rules.” … “I would rather be a vampire.” He whispers. As he picks up a frame and holds it gently in his hands. “Are you going to leave or are you staying? If you are staying, at least tell me so I can carry a weapon with me. We have had enough murders in this house.” … “So please leave.” We made our way out, he didn’t look behind, just memorized by that photograph in his hands. “Do you believe him?” “Have you not done any research on anyone, Hunter?” “What do you mean?” “Werewolves attacked his home, killing his parents and sister no younger than five.” “But that’s high treason, above werewolves.” I stutter. “And who do you think would commit such treason?” …
