The immediate priority was clearing the compensation debt to ensure the disgruntled students and racers wouldn't return to disrupt future training sessions. Chloe Bishop, still somewhat in a daze, watched as the driver returned to the luxury sedan to report to Xavier Grayson. She followed at a respectful distance, her mind racing to piece together the deal. It turned out Xavier had matched Yuvraj’s offer of one hundred million dollars to secure the land, but with one critical difference: he guaranteed that Team Swift would not be dissolved. The team's longevity would now depend entirely on their performance on the track. Xavier had stepped in as the majority shareholder, meaning he would now personally oversee and fund all of Team Swift's operations. Coach Lee remained the face and soul of the team, but for the first time in years, he could focus solely on training drivers without the suffocating weight of financial ruin or bank loans. Most importantly, Coach Lee no longer had to fear Yuvraj’s thuggish tactics. In fact, Xavier intended to make Yuvraj pay dearly for the smashed cars and injured staff. Even though the land was sold at a "bargain" price to Xavier, Coach Lee was radiant. He had sold it with his dignity intact and saved the dream he shared with his late son, Ethan. After the driver finished his report and headed back inside to finalize the paperwork, the car window began to slide up. Chloe hurried forward and tapped on the glass. "Xavier!" The window hummed to a halt, revealing his handsome, regal profile. His deep, dark eyes fixed on her vibrant, joyful face. "Xavier, congratulations on acquiring this land!" Chloe beamed, her eyes sparkling. "Now do you believe me when I say my luck is extraordinary?" Technically, Xavier was the biggest winner of the day. A plot of land this massive, secured for only a hundred million, was a monumental steal. If it had gone to auction, the price would have been astronomical. Since she was the one who brought him here, didn't she deserve a little credit? Xavier offered a faint, non-committal "Mm." Chloe’s smile widened. He actually hadn't found a way to contradict her! "So," she pressed, her eyes curving like crescent moons, "how do you plan to thank me?" Xavier studied the woman before him. She was radiant—rosy cheeks, bright eyes, and a smile so genuine it bordered on "silly." To him, she looked like someone who hadn't quite realized the magnitude of the shark tank she had just entered. "i***t," he muttered. Chloe’s smile faltered into an indignant pout. "Hey! Why are you insulting me again out of nowhere?" Xavier remained unfazed. He beckoned her closer with a curl of his finger. "You heard Coach Lee's desperation. I gave you the opportunity, yet you stood there with zero reaction. If I hadn't come today, this entire plot would have been handed to someone else on a silver platter. What good is 'luck' without the brains to use it?" As he finished, he reached out and gave her forehead a playful yet firm flick. "Ow!" Chloe hissed, clutching her forehead. She glared at him with her large, clear eyes, her face scrunched in a mix of pain and frustration. She was fuming, but she didn't dare snap back at the "Demon" in front of her. A low, rare chuckle vibrated from Xavier’s throat. "Fool." Chloe gritted her teeth, her face flushing crimson as she blurted out the first thing that came to mind: "At least it proves I bring good fortune to my husband!" The second the words left her mouth, she wanted to find a hole in the pavement and crawl into it. How embarrassing! Chloe has accidentally secured the most powerful backing in the industry, but Xavier's expectations are higher than any mountain. Now that the "Master of the City" is her boss both at home and on the track, will their shared goal of winning the National Qualifiers bring them closer, or will the professional pressure push Chloe to her breaking point?
