The whispers in the crowd were thick with doubt, but many seemed to have developed selective amnesia. They had already forgotten the viral video from just a few nights ago—the grainy footage of a mysterious girl in a Bugatti whose precision and speed had left every professional at this track breathless. Chloe Bishop ignored the noise. She exchanged contact information with Coach Lee and formalized their agreement: she would officially report to Team Swift the following morning. Before leaving, Chloe wanted to give Liam Jr. a taste of the track. She borrowed a practice car from Coach Lee, buckling the silent boy into the passenger seat while Lyra hopped into the back. Because she had a child on board, Chloe drove with extreme caution, maintaining a steady, safe pace. Naturally, the other racers began to jeer. "Look at that speed! She drives like a grandma," one shouted. "How is she going to enter the National Qualifiers with those skills?" Serena, who was still hanging around with Feifei and their entourage, pointed at Chloe’s car and laughed mockingly. "Look at her go. She’s going to embarrass herself so badly her face will be swollen from the shame. Just watch—I’m going to go give her a little 'lesson' she won't forget." With a roar of her engine, Serena tore onto the track to pursue Chloe. "Look, Serena is going after Chloe Bishop!" "Heh, now the real show starts." Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Serena quickly closed the gap. She pulled up alongside Chloe’s car, leaning on her horn aggressively and rolling down her window to scream across the lane. "Chloe! Do you actually dare to race me, or are you just here to block the road?" At first, Chloe ignored her, keeping her eyes fixed on the line ahead. But Serena’s taunts grew increasingly vile. "You don't even have the guts to face me, yet you claim Ethan mentored you?" Serena shrieked. "A pathetic rookie like you wouldn't even be worth a glance from a legend like him! You’re a liar and a fraud. Get off this track before you humiliate the sport any further!" Inside the car, Lyra’s temper finally snapped. "Chloe, crush that brat." Chloe’s grip tightened on the wheel. "My thoughts exactly." She glanced nervously at Liam Jr., worried the tension might frighten him. To her surprise, the little boy looked thrilled. He balled his tiny hands into fists and gave her a small, determined "fighting" gesture. Chloe smiled, smoothing his ruffled black hair. She reached over, rolled down her window, and looked Serena dead in the eye. "What are the stakes?" Serena blinked, momentarily stunned that Chloe had finally bitten. "The loser pays for fried chicken, milk tea, and crawfish for everyone currently at the track!" Crawfish and beer are the traditional racer's feast, but since they were driving, milk tea was the substitute. Chloe brought the car to a slow, deliberate crawl. Serena followed suit, pulling her car to a stop beside her. "What’s the matter? Scared of the bill?" There were over three hundred people at the track today, including racers, staff, and amateur fans. At roughly 150 dollars per person, the bill would come to nearly 50,000 dollars. To Chloe, that was pocket change. To Serena, it was a massive chunk of her monthly earnings. A crowd began to gather at the edge of the pit wall, buzzing with excitement at the thought of a massive free feast. Chloe’s lips curled into a cold, elegant arc. "That bet is a little too small for my taste. Let's add a condition: If you lose, from this day forward, you call me 'Grandpa' every time you see me—and then you get out of my way and take the long route around. If I lose, I’ll do the same for you." Lyra frowned from the backseat. "Chloe, you’re too kind. You should have told her to quit the racing world entirely." Chloe replied nonchalantly, "Am I really that vicious?" Lyra didn't hesitate. "Yes, you are." Chloe gave a dark, playful smirk. "Keeping a character like her around for entertainment... it makes life a lot less boring." Lyra went silent for a moment before muttering, "...Vicious." The two cars lined up at the starting stripe. The atmosphere, once filled with mockery, turned electric. Serena was a professional, but she was arrogant and emotional. Chloe was calm, driving a borrowed car, but she had the "Demon CEO's" son cheering her on. "Ready when you are, 'Grandson'," Chloe whispered as she shifted into gear. Will Chloe show her true 'Bugatti Girl' speed even with Liam Jr. in the car, or will Serena find a way to play dirty and force Chloe into a dangerous mistake?
