Nanny nodded. "If he came, why did he leave before eight? He never even showed up." Chloe Bishop was utterly confused. "Nanny, why is he doing this to me? I wasn't late, was I?" Nanny's expression turned impassive again. "That's something Miss Bishop should ask herself. Where did you go before coming here?" It all clicked. Xavier Grayson knew she'd gone to Liam Martin's house. This was his punishment. A chill ran down her spine. She'd been too impulsive. If Xavier Grayson changed his mind, she'd have no one to blame but herself. Being left to bake in the sun was the mildest penalty she could have gotten. She said gratefully, "I understand.
