CHAPTER 18

1303 Words
EMILY The last file slipped into its folder, and I leaned back in my chair, rolling the stiffness from my shoulders with a yawn. Outside my cubicle, most of the office had already emptied, leaving only a handful of employees finishing up for the day. I’d spent the entire day buried in reports, budgets, and project timelines, breaking only when Annie practically dragged me to the lunchroom for lunch. Now, with the fake project finally mapped out, all that was left was to meet Cole to show him what I’d put together. With my bag in one hand and the files tucked under the other arm, I turned off my desk light and headed to his office. As I arrived at the door, I came to an abrupt halt at the sound of a feminine moan. “Do you like what you see, big daddy?” The woman said in a husky voice. I should have taken that as my cue to leave, but instead, my curiosity got the best of me. I pressed my ear against the door, waiting to hear what Cole was going to say. “You want me bent over the couch, daddy?” “No,” Cole said in a calm voice that sent a cold shiver down my spine, making my knees almost give out. “Slowly drop down to your knees, place your hands on the floor, and crawl over here with your ass in the air.” My eyes widened as I listened to this new side of Cole. “I’m going to spank your ass while you count, and if you miss a number, we start again. Do you understand?” “Yes, Mr. Callow—” “Don’t call me by my name,” he growled. “Sorry, daddy,” she said in a sultry voice. My mind screamed at me to leave, but my feet had a mind of their own as I leaned harder against the door. His palm striking her skin echoed through the office, making her whimper while she counted and moaned the words ‘yes daddy’ after every number. Heat pooled low in my belly. I pressed my thighs together, trying to stop myself from making a sound as I imagined what was going on behind the door, but that only made a sweet sensation travel through my body and settle in my n*****s. My body wanted more. It craved what Cole was doing to the poor innocent woman in there, leaving me starving for a release I hadn’t had in years. “Mhm…” Cole groaned “Does your husband know how wet you get when being touched by his nemesis?” “Ah!” She moaned. Smark! “Answer me when I ask a question. Does he?” “No, daddy,” she let out a pleasured moan. “He doesn’t.” “Good. Now sit on the desk, spread your legs wide open, and show me how wet you are.” There were quiet movements before silence settled again. “Now, slowly slide two fingers through your slit and show me how soaked you are.” My eyes drifted shut as I imagined I was the one sitting on his desk, showing him how wet I was while he stood there, his eyes trained to my p***y as I slid my fingers in and out of my channel. The loud thud of something hitting the floor made my eyes snap open. I looked around for where the sound had come from, and when I realized my bag was no longer hanging from my hand and the files weren’t tucked against my chest, my gaze slowly dropped to the floor. I instantly dropped to my knees, hoping they hadn’t heard anything, but after I’d picked the last file and secured it against my arm, the door suddenly snapped open. The s****l haze I was in disappeared like smoke the moment his tall frame stepped through the doorway. “Ms. Carter,” He said in a deep voice. “What are you doing here?” My words were trapped in my throat. I couldn’t say or do anything as I stayed rooted to the floor like a deer caught in headlights. “Leave us.” With wobbly feets, I took a step back. “Not you, Carter.” He turned his head slightly to the side. “Get dressed and leave.” “But.” “Leave,” he growled, making my breath hitch and the woman scramble to gather her scattered clothes from the floor. Cole turned his attention back to me. His gaze stayed fixed on me, but unable to help the embarrassment rushing through me, I looked past him toward the woman moving around in the background. “When am I going to see you?” She asked in a flirtatious voice as she stopped behind him. “We won’t be meeting again,” he said as he stepped farther away from the door, revealing the woman standing there. To my utmost surprise, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The woman standing there was Vanessa. Richard's wife. I shifted from one foot to the other, standing awkwardly in the shadows as I looked between them, trying to talk myself out of bolting for the elevator until I reached the safety of my apartment. “But, Cole, babe,” she whined, placing a hand against his chest. “We were about to have a good time before…” her eyes trailed from my face to my feet before returning to my face. “…we got interrupted.” Then I noticed the twitch in the corner of his mouth before he pulled her hand away. “You came here for something else, Vanessa, and I gave you more than you asked for. Now get out of my office before Richard tracks you here.” I had to give it to her. The woman had some balls, cheating with her husband’s nemesis while having a tracker on her. She pouted. “I can’t go to sleep starving, Cole.” “Vanessa,” he warned. “Okay, okay. I’ll just call later,” she said with a wink before placing a kiss on his cheek and swaying her hips as she walked towards the door. As soon as she disappeared down the hallway, his gaze landed on me. “Get in.” I wanted to argue, to tell him I was only here to drop off the files, but one look into his hard eyes had my feet moving before my brain could protest. The first thing my eyes landed on was the corner of his desk where papers that were usually neatly stacked now lay scattered across the floor. I wondered how far they would have gone if my clumsy self hadn’t made a sound. Would she have been screaming his name? Would the office be in even more ruins than this? “We’re you eavesdropping?” He asked as he moved past me and stopped in front of me. I shock my head. “Use your words.” “No… no… I… wasn’t,” I stammered. The corners of his lips tugged into a slight smile. “In case you’ve forgotten, Ms. Carter, I have a security camera mounted just right outside my office.” My throat suddenly felt dry as I searched for a possible lie to tell him. Then I remembered the files still tucked in my arms. “I… I… came to give you this,” I said, holding out the files. He looked between the files and me before a smirk tugged at his lips. Then he turned and walked towards his desk. “Drop the files on the table…” his eyes lifted to mine. “…and slowly walk here, Emily.”
